Chloe

Time with Dominic has been soothing and enjoyable. The sexual tension between us is palpable. A part of me longs to jump his bones and ride that cowboy till his dick falls off.

The other part of me, however, understands this is a temporary arrangement that ends with the ball in a little less than two weeks’ time.

UGH! I really need to relieve my frustration. The constant teasing has pent-up energy that needs to be extinguished. I miss the feel of a robust male length spreading me apart.

Damnit! I focus on today’s outing, shaking my head of all my dirty thoughts. I’m excited. Well, maybe excited is not the word for today. Dominic is going to teach me how to shoot. I’ve never been to a shooting range before, but I’ve always been inclined to acquire the skill.

Apparently, he has a shooting range at the warehouse. He was not joking when he claimed they have everything they require at the warehouse if need be.

Antonio parks the car in front of the warehouse, escorting me to their shooting range. Dominic was already stationed there, gun in hand.

“Hello, Mr. Valentino.”

“Ms. Knox.” He dips his head.

“Thank you for this.”

“For?”

“Teaching me how to shoot.”

Nodding his head, we begin our lesson.

“First things first. Keep the safety on and your finger off the trigger unless you intend to shoot.”

I nod my head in acknowledgment.

“Now stance. Keep your feet shoulder-width apart, your dominant foot in front, comfortably. Slightly twist your body. You do this to give the other person a lesser target. You are slimmer sideways than you are straight on.”

Hump, I never thought about that before, that seems sensible.

“When you grip the gun, your right hand cups the grip, and your left-hand cups the bottom of your other hand to add stability. Like this.”

I observed his stance and hand placement, attempting to mimic it.

“Here, like this.” He spooked my body, triggering heat to swarm my senses. His cologne crowded my nostrils, evoking a deep breath. Damn, this man and all his charisma.

Heeding his actions, I assume a proper stance, awaiting my next orders.

“With your dominant eye, line up the single sight, the little dot on the tip of the gun, between the two sights at the hammer.”

“My dominant eye?”

“Point your finger to a spot, close one eye, and see if your finger remains on the area. If it does, that is your dominant eye. If your finger moves, then that is the less dominant eye.”

I identify my right eye as my dominant one. “Now, choose a spot on the target to hit. When you line up the sights, take a deep breath and pull the trigger. You will get some recoil, that’s normal. You may need to adjust your aim depending on the force of the kickback.”

Absorbing all the information, I line up my sights with my dominant eye, take a deep breath and pull the trigger.

SHIT! That was loud, and the recoil was harsh. I hit the target in the lower right corner. Damn it! I suck at this.

“Here, try this.” Dominic slides behind me again, spooning every part of me, including my arms. I find myself twisting my head just a bit to inhale his scent.

Focus Chloe.

He wraps his hand around mine, pulling the trigger, hitting the target within the body outline. Lowering his mouth to my ear.

“Good girl. Now practice some more.”

Taking a deep breath, I release him from my mind to focus on the skill I have craved to acquire.

We continued round after round for what seemed like hours. Antonio strolls in, whispering to Dominic, handing him a blue folder.

Dominic looks it over, and his face shifts from calm and serene to vexed and grave. Flipping through the pages, his face grows more livid with every turn.

I put the safety on, removed the magazine, and place the gun on the table, strolling over to him.

“Is everything okay?”

His enraged dark hues meet mine. Exhaling a deep breath.

“We found him.”

“Found who?”

“Your captor.”

My heart ceased to beat. My breathing hitched in my throat. All I could manage was to stare at him.

Finding my words, “What is that?” I point to the blue folder.

“It’s his jacket (file), everything he has done that he has gotten caught for. Some are just speculation or dismissed due to technicality.”

He has a record of things he’s done? “I want to see it!”

“No!”

With force in my voice, I make my demand. “I want to see it, Dominic. I want to know what he’s done to others. Did he– hurt them? Did he do other things?” Questions kept filtering through my mind.

“He’s done far worse than he attempted to do to you.”

What? “You have no idea what he did to me. Let me see!”

With reluctance, Dominic hands over the blue folder. Escaping his peripheral, my eye tears as I see picture after picture of beaten women. I need time to process this.

Twisting to face him. “I want to go home, Dominic.” My voice cracks with each word. Nodding his head, he instructs Antonio to grant my request.

At home, I lock myself in the bedroom, reading one report after another of every offense he has ever been caught committing.

Jasmine Collins - rape

Suzanne Hernandez - assault

Leticia Rodriguez - beaten and raped

Katia, Emily, Sabrina, Anne, Grace, Julie, Laura, Renee, Kristy, Maritza– the list goes on and on.

My eyes well up as I view each photograph. Anger shoots through every vein in my body. I no longer require closure. I crave revenge. Revenge for me. Revenge for Jasmine, Suzanne, Leticia, Sabrina, Katia, Julie. For all of them. For me, for Axle–for our baby.

I contemplate what form of punishment could equate to retribution for such heinous actions? I plot and replot, adding more horrific methods to my revenge when I feel I have perfected his penalty.

I review my revenge one step after another until it feels complete. I’m ready to face him and end my torment after all this time.

I phone Dominic with a whirlwind of amalgamated emotions, unsure of the next course of action is wrong to inquire about.

His voice flows through the receiver, “Ms. Knox.”

I’m at a loss for words. Should I even ask for this?

“Ms. Knox, is everything okay?”

“Yes! No, I’m unsure.” I rattle off into the receiver.

“About?”

“His record– it’s deplorable.”

“Agreed.”

“I want to know. Can I– will I–.”

“Ms. Knox, you are free to do what your heart desires with him. Ending his life is up to you.”

Shocked by his words, my eyes resemble those of an owl. I retort, “Before I meet with him. I’m going to need a few things.”

“Anything.”

Chloe learned how to shoot. What do you think?

He’s hurt multiple women. He’s gotten away with some horrible acts of violence, but now he’s been caught by the mafia. Thoughts?

What do you think Chloe will ask for?

Thoughts? Theories?
