Captured By A Ruthless Vampire King
|84| ~New World Order~

Unedited.

Embry’s POV.

The collective of us, along with a new selective group of others are now occupying The Great Hall inside the bunker, designed for emergency matters as such.

As a whole the emotions inside of this space can be projected as grim and reap, none of us truly want to accept defeat. Although, based upon our current circumstances that’s what it feels like.

Defeat.

We are facing defeat.

I quietly sit back and take in the dire state that we all are in at the moment. Shirtless Gutter Butter is sitting closely beside Speck on the other side of the hall, who equally looks like she has been through hell. I can see deeply inflicted claw marks soiling Gutter Butter once glistening and typically golden skin. My eyes then move to watch Anastasia as she tends to the crimson eyed vampire by the name of Count Cloven wounds. Anastasia herself has freshly bandages covering the open wounds that I can detect all over her body. It’s troublesome for me to truly take her in. She’s way too precious and pure. She shouldn’t have to endure the type of pain that came along with those scars.

Now, I hate to admit this but I’m not that concerned about Count Cloven. Mainly because I’m not too sure about him. There is something about him that’s not sitting too well with me.

In all honesty, I’m not so sure that he can be trusted and neither is my wolf, but it’s more than obvious that the feeling of doubt is mutual judging by the way that he watches me back with unconcealed interest.

He doesn’t trust me either, but yet he is also just as curious about me as I am about him. However, right now isn’t the time to play games of figuring one another out.

We have bigger fish to fry. With that thought, my eye’s next travel to evaluate my mate’s kin that attended the ball. All of which has made it out alive. Starting with Akoto Ettore, who is currently standing by the door while having a silent heated debate with Cyrus’s other cousins Roman Ettore. They are arguing about what we should or should not do next. Roman, sister Romana Ettore is sitting down at the table drinking some hot liquid that smells like a mixture of blood and green tea. She looks lost in her own thoughts with every sip that she takes with this fuming expression on her face and blood splattered all over her.

My cousin Celine touches my hand by accident as she sits down beside me. She just got back from checking on Ghost Falls as a favor to me. Ghost downright refused to leave Aunt Katherine all alone by herself in the other room and I couldn’t do anything but understand.

Aunt Katherine’s ill fortune is a curse to us all.

There is this eerie feeling that’s in the air, smothering us all. It’s the feeling of unavoidable doom.

My people have officially surrounded the tunnel. There is no way in or no way out without a great battle and what a great battle it shall be because there is no way on this Goddess Green earth that I shall just sit by and watch my people destroy my people. Both sides mean equally as much as the other to me.

“We must fight our way out,” I decide to state the obvious. “We have no other choice,”

“That’s easier said than done,” voices Akoto Ettore, my mate’s cousin as he turns to look at me. “We are not prepared and lack the numbers that it will take to defeat the vicious animals. Not to mention the fact that our queen is bedridden by choice, refusing to save us all,” he assaults Aunt Katherine and me.

My wolf growls within me not taking his disrespect lightly but I remain calm.

“Watch your mouth before I snap your neck,” states my cousin while allowing her wolf presence to be known.

“Fuck you too!” he growls at her.

“No, it’s a fuck you. Our queen is standing right here in your presence and I expect you to remember that” Gutter stands to his feet, coming to my defense.

“Who the fuck are you talking too,” Akoto spits at him next. “I’ll have you remember that I’m the king’s cousin, royalty and you are just a soldier at my disposal, nothing.”

“Akoto, please,” Cyrus’ cousin, Roman is the one to attempt to settle him down.

“The audacity of this arrogant piece of,” my wolf growls inside of my head.

“Don’t worry I’ve got this,” I cut my wolf off. We are at war there is no time to fight with one another, rather we like it or not we are all each other has at the moment but I will not tolerate disrespect from anyone, my mate’s cousin or not.

“And I am your king beloved,” I stand to my feet just to remind him. “And I demand you to remember that,” I state confidently while looking my mate’s foolish relative in his face. “We should take out our frustration on our enemies, not one another,”

“And what are you?” He damns near shout. “Because the last time I checked you look and smell just like the savage animals that have claimed so many of my men’s lives tonight. How can we trust you? For all I know, you could have given the wolves our location yourself. They are your people after all,” he seals his fate, and not even a second can go by before Gutter Butter’s fist slams straight into his face.

Roman rushes to his cousin’s aide and defense but yet Speck is in front of him in seconds. “Try me bitch, try me,” she hisses with glowing red eyes, surprising us all.

“Yup! I’m stunned,” says my wolf as I move to stand between them all with my cousin following right behind me.

“Enough,” I growl allowing my wolf presence to shine its dominating presence of them all.

“We are currently under attack, surrounded by the four packs of North America with no way of contacting our allies and you have the audacity to fight amongst each other or to even question my authority,” I spit, looking at my mate’s cousin directly in their eye’s.

“Yes! I am a Wilde wolf but I am also your cousin chosen queen. My loyalty lies with my people, all of my people, and I can assure you that I will fight against whoever is attempting to harm my people, even if it means fighting against people that I love because, at the end of the day, I’m fighting for what’s right,” I silence all of the noise.

“The queen is right,” Anastasia is the one to speak up next. “We should be working together, not against one another. It is the only logical thing to do,”

“And let’s not forget the fact that Cyrus queen knows our attackers’ strengths and weakness,” Cyrus’s other cousin, Romana places her cup down before she decides to finally speak.

“They are right, cousin,” Roman says to Akoto. “I know that you don’t like it and neither do I, but trusting Cyrus queen is our best chance of making it out of this alive,”

Akoto just sucks his teeth behaving like the arrogant child that he is without any further argument.

“So, it’s settled then,” The crimson eye vampire by the name of Count Cloven takes the moment to finally speak. Celine places herself in front of me acting as my shield as Count Cloven walks in the center of the room, drawing closer to me. Once here, he stops a couple of feet away, silently evaluating me before he then turns to look at the others. “The smart thing to do is to listen to the she-wolf queen. As Romana already pointed out she is our best chance of survival and need I remind you that the House of Ettore has pledged their undying loyalty to her,”

“Yes, we have,” Romana says as she leaps up out of her seat. Her soft but yet fearless almond brown eyes then spark with excitement as she asks, “What are your orders, my queen?”

Hmm, now that’s the question of the hour what are my orders. I walk closer towards the door when suddenly an idea pops into my head. “Gutter,” I turn to face him. “Is there a way to control the last line of defense that my mate installed inside of the red house as a security precaution?

Gutter Butter smirks when he realizes what I’m asking him. “Yes, your majesty it is. Do you mind if I ask how the heck do you know about that?”

Whelp! That’s simple. “I found out about them when I was snooping through my mates belonging, telling myself that I was doing it because I miss him when in all honesty I was just being noisy,”

Everyone inside the room just burst out laughing.

I think the nine of us are looking like stone-cold killers as we make our way to the front of the bunker. We are drenched in blood from head to toe and our clothes are anything but godly. All of the remainder survivors are watching us with horrifying stares as we make our way through, even the few soldiers that we have left seem to be petrified. I believe that it is safe to say that everyone inside of here is afraid.

Anastasia and Speck make their way to Aunt Katherine’s room acting as if her last line of defense. There is no way, that I’m leaving her unprotected while we fight our way out of this. Their job is simple, they are to ensure that no enemy gets to her while we deal with our enemies but little did they know I choose them to protect her for other reasons. Mostly, because I know for a fact that she won’t allow anything to happen to them if all else fails. Aunt Katherine may not take the cure for her own benefit but she will if it comes down to a life and death situation that involves others and for that I’m sure.

I know that Aunt Katherine will take the cure just to protect them.

Gutter Butter and Akoto’s job are to debrief the remainder of our soldiers with the plan that I’ve come up with and then station them in their places. We need them to be prepared for the worst. The overall job is to protect the civilians with their lives above all else. There is no way that I’m leaving innocent people unprotected. The soldiers shall distract the wolves long enough for everyone to escape.

Speaking of escape, Roman and Romana have been tasked with the job of aiding as many of our civilians to safety while the rest of us go to war. Gutter Butter has informed us all of an escape route that we can reach by traveling through the tunnels and we all agreed that as long as the wolves are distracted long enough the others should be able to escape. Gutter has also personally selected a hand few of his men to assist Roman and Romana with completing their task. Once they reach safety they have been instructed to reach out to our allies, but most importantly my mate. We need him. I need him.

While, the others are doing what they have been told to do Celine, Count Cloven, and I shall face the packs. Count Cloven was appointed by the King of all vampires Kings himself to speak on his behalf, Celine is a Wilde wolf, who just happens to have earned the respect of most of the packs and, I’m Embry Destiny Wilde, the so-called special wolf that they all came for. The three of us together are everyone’s best chance to live. We must do this together. The overall goal is for the three of us to talk things out, but most importantly give the other’s the time they need to escape.

Even if my people have chosen the path of blood they will still have to abide by pack rules and I plan to use pack laws to my full advantage.

“Are you ready,” Celine questions me as we open the door up the door of the bunker.

No, but I’m as ready as to be expected I think to myself as I take my first step out of the door.

Almost instantly, I feel it or more as I feel him. My father is here. His haunting presence is way too hard to ignore.

He’s outside patiently waiting for me. They all our. Ruq, Farrah, and Uncle Maddox are all here.

Celine, Count Cloven, and I hold up our hands as we walk through the tunnel, a gesture that shows that we come in peace. Pack law states that an outlaw has the right to demand a fair trial. Our gesture not only state that we are coming in peace but it also states that we are coming to talk. Therefore, not a single wolf can touch anyone of us until after they hear what we have come to say. No matter, how bad they want my head and trust me when I say that it is more than obvious that they all do judging by the spine-chilling growls that fill the air the very moment that wind blows in my scent.

The fresh and chilling winter air continues to blow with every step that we take. My nostrils flare widely as I take the fresh scent of the earth as my people begin to surround us. As we reach the clearing outside the tunnel a flaming red hair she-wolf that appears to be fairly familiar steps forward.

“State your business,” the she-wolf snaps while placing herself directly in front of me. She then looks at Celine, and then Count Cloven, not bothering to hide the distaste that she has for anyone of us. There are several other unidentified wolves also present who begins to surround us, but my wolf nor am I concerned about any of them. Instead, we focus on the she-wolve, giving her our undivided attention as I fully take her in.

It takes me less than a second to realize exactly who she is.

It’s Layla, the Southern Beta but most importantly the Southern Alpha little sister.

“Hello, Layla,” I greet with a smirk, refusing to allow her to think that she or any other wolf in my presence for the matter can intimidate me.

“How dare you say my name, traitor,” her wolf growls, before attempting to place her hands on my shoulder. Keyword: Attempting because the very moment that her hands go to touch any part of my body I grab her by her left arm, fully twisting her body, and then kick the back of her left knee in, sending her fragile body to the bed of bloody snow quicker than one can blink.

The other wolves don’t waste any time springing into action only to be intercepted by Celine. She jumps directly in front of us, withdrawing her gun full of silver bullets, and then hiss, “I wouldn’t do that if I was you, don’t forget the fact that we have come in peace,”

At this point, Count Cloven has also withdrawn his pistol full of silver bullets. We may have come in peace but we have also come prepared to give them all hell if need be. In that exact moment, a dominating and dauntless presence fully awakens my wolf. I surrender myself over to her completely as she prepares herself to deal with the new danger.

“Then I advise that your cousin let my sister go and you put the gun down before things turn very ugly,” says the exact voice that my wolf and I expected to hear. My head snaps in her direction and I must admit that my wolf and I are completely caught off guard.

We are completely stunned, captivated by her beauty and quite the beauty she is.

Starting, with her stunningly brilliant bright green eyes which surely compliments her unblemished and radiant tan skin. Then, one just has to admire her astonishingly bright fiery red hair that trails like a river of fire all the way down her back. Not to mention, that she has a body of a Goddess, curved to perfection in all the right places.

Oh, my Goddess! I guess some rumors hold some certain truth because the rumors that surround this angel face she-wolf are most certain facts. So far, she is who they say she is when spoken in the looks department. She is quite the sight to see and her presence truly does radiant the pure feminist dominance that can bring a pack of glorious male wolves down to their knees that everyone speaks about.

Now, I understand completely how this she-wolf gained the infamous title of the first female alpha, ever.

“Hello, Embry,” she greets with her thick southern accent. “I’m Bell’s,”

“I know exactly who you are,” I interrupt as I release the southern Alpha sister from my hold. “And I don’t care, I come for one reason and one reason only. I come to talk to my fa.”

“Family,” she finishes my sentence for me. “And they have been expecting you, all of you,” she adds in before briefly glancing at Celine. “Drop your weapons and follow me. Your peace has been accepted. No one shall lay a finger on either one of you, for now,” she growls and neither one of us miss the threat in her promise. Either way, we drop our weapons and then follow quietly behind her.

Every single member from every pack is here. They’re all wearing their battle gear, which by now is drenched in blood. There are tents, each pack flags, and a bonfire placed in the center of it all. The stench of burning flesh fills the air evading my senses.

This is where everything went down. We are in the center of the Red House or at least what’s left of it anyway. My eyes begin to scan the area for any remaining survivors and as I take in the piles on top of piles of lifeless bodies I quickly come to terms with the fact that there are none.

Two Southern pack warriors wolves push us through the remains of the red house with no ceiling, windows, or walls while all the other wolves freeze in place just to stare at us. Not only are they staring but most of them are also growing, attempting to intimidate my wolf with little effect because when it’s all said a done she is a Wilde. She doesn’t fear anyone of them.

As we are pulled further through the now wrecked house that was once considered to be my home the bond of the Wilde becomes stronger and stronger and I hate to admit it but it truly does feels like I’m going home. I can sense their presence entirely, flowing through me like a river, encouraging me to come back to them with open arms.

It feels so safe and so warm. I can still feel the love that they hold for me but yet I can also feel the pain that I caused them all. Their hearts are heavy, bleeding for me and their feelings are hurt. Just a single thought of my betrayal brings them great pain. My actions really have crushed them, especially my dad. I can feel the pain and disappointment that I’ve caused him and that’s what really hurts the most.

“You haven’t done anything wrong,” reminds my wolf. “You accepted your mate, we both have. Now isn’t the time to have second thoughts. There are way too many lives at stake, who are depending on us.”

“I know,” I admit to her. “But it still hurts nonetheless,”

“And after hurt comes forgiveness,” she continues to encourage. “Be gentle with yourself but be confident to others. We are surrounded by four packs of wolves. You must show strength, Embry or they shall eat you alive, not that I will ever allow that to happen but still,” she speaks nothing but the truth because my people are the type of people that can sense weakness. I can’t afford to appear weak or to question my own actions while I’m around them.

That shall only deem me guilty as charged in the laws of the pack and I may be guilty of a lot of things but being a traitor to my people aren’t one of them because in all reality I’m a she-wolf, who just happens to be the Ruthless King mate, meaning that all of the packs of North America and vampires who reside here are part of me. They are all my people.

“That a girl,” further encourages my wolf. “Now, try to remember that. No matter what they say about you,”

The Southern Pack Warriors directs us to walk down the once marvelously magnificent grand hall, which leads to the back of the house. As expected, we’re being lead to the house garden and that means that my plan is still good to go. Once there, my eyes come in contact with so many familiar faces, causing me to hesitate for a brief second. I didn’t expect to see them all at once.

There are the kids that I grew up with from the Western and Northern Pack’s, she-wolves and male-wolves that I use to train with, and even some new warrior pups that I’ve trained myself. Standing to my left is Midnight, my brother Ruq childhood she-wolf fling. I remember the time when she came over our house every Sunday for dinner carrying a bag full of dolls from the market just for me. Then there’s the Northern Pack cook, Kiba standing to my right. She used to always brag about how much Celine, Kaya, and I were her best dessert protectors right after we would always catch the mischievously yet highly adorable bell twins from demolishing the desserts that were meant for after pack dinners.

Thinking of the Bell twins, their father the Northern Omega, Nicholson is now standing directly in front of me. His familiar but somehow foreign prominent scent of warm vanilla and maple leafs fully wraps around me as he directs the Southern Warriors to untie me and Celine.

“ The vampire king measle, Count Cloven is to remain bounded and is not permitted to go any further, ” he orders and then directs Celine and I to move forward without another word.

This entire experience is so weird, how they are acting as if they haven’t known us our whole lives.

Once upon a time, I use to be excited to see all these familiar faces and the feeling was mutual but now it feels like I’m surrounded by a sea of strangers.

I’m not that surprised when I spot Beta Rendell or the Lycan King and Queen as we approach a podium created from wood but I am surprised to see the Hunter by the name of Forrest who saved my life for what now seems to be a lifetime ago alongside an unrecognizable Hunter or a human girl.

Right now, I’m not sure because she looks human but at the same time, my heightened vision can pinpoint that she has the exact same markings that Forrest has. They are damn near identical.

Who is she to him? Maybe, his sister but I doubt it because they don't look anything alike.

Needless to say there is something about her that sets my protective myself instincts off by any means necessary. It’s more like two red alarms going off just from her presence alone and judging by the hostile look painted all over her pretty little face the feeling is mutual. Her eyes hold the look of pure hatred as if my very presence bothers her entire soul. It’s making me feel further and further unease and on alert.

To further my frustration, the Eastern Alpha Dickson is also here standing directly beside my brother Ruq. Since when have they become so close? The last time I’ve checked the two of them wouldn’t even be seen together in the same room due to our altercation. Seeing them together, all buddy, buddy is way beyond the point of weird.

That's when I come to realize that I’ve officially entered a whole new world. My people are no longer my people.

Everything has changed.

This world is ran by the packs of North America, it's the new world order.

In this world, enemies have become friends and family has become the enemy. I am the outsider now, or at least that's how they all feel about me.

My sister Farrah comes into view next. She is not that far from Luke the Western Alpha. My Alpha. The man who once poured his heart out to me. The man that so many of my people thought that I would end up with.

He looks incredible, handsomely charming as usual and unlike the others, his strikingly unusual silver eyes hold no hatred for me, but most importantly he is the only one present that isn’t bathed in blood.

Oh, Goddess! Thank you, Luke is still Luke, for now.

I can live with that.

Suddenly, The Northern Omega Nicholson stops and I finally see them. I finally see him. My father is standing directly beside my uncle, Maddox. His mate, Mecca stands in the center of us all drenched in nothing but vampire blood from head to toe.

Her wolf dauntless aura is beaming in its glory as it celebrates her sure to be triumph victory.

She looks like an avenging angel, or more like the devils little helper.

It’s more than obvious that she lead the attack. She’s the reason why so many innocent people lost their lives tonight. This is all of her fault.

“Embry Destiny Wilde,” greet’s no one other than her, Mecca. My uncle mate. “It’s such a pleasure to finally meet you,” she lies, through her teeth.

It is so not a pleasure to meet her once again and I know for a fact that the feeling is mutual. My wolf balls up our hands into tight fist as she jumps down from the podium to come closer towards us.

I can feel the presence of Celine wolf, breaking through my mental barrier. Now, that we have placed our differences aside we can once again mind-link with one another.

Our bond has been reconciled and resealed.

“Play nice, Embry,” her wolf warns my wolf. “We are gravely outnumbered,”

My wolf growls viciously within me but nonetheless takes heave to our cousin point.

“You come to request a fair trial and as newly appointed commander of the wolves I hereby grant you with the opportunity to have one,” Mecca states loud and clear for all to hear.

New commander, oh Goddess no! She can not be serious. This is all so unreal. Almost instantly, the crowd of were-people begin to have a fit, growling and spitting out numerous curse words making it their point to voice their displeasure of their new commander decision.

The people of authority, meaning the Alphas and Lycan royalty mostly seems unaffected. I watch my uncle’s reaction as his wolf presence comes to the front and center. His Golden eyes glow in the dark night sky like a pair of golden lanterns with little to none emotion taking effect on his handsome face. My father on the other hand seems to be very troubled, stressed.

I can see wrinkles surrounding his chilling icy blue eyes. My father has always been an extremely carefree handsome man, but now he appears to look like he's carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders, thanks to me.

The more and more that I take him in, the more and more guilt I begin to feel for placing him in this sort of situation. All of his stressing is my fault. I did that to him.

When the commotion, finally settles down Mecca steps closer to where we are standing and says, “Or maybe I should just allow the people to decide your fate because at the end of the day commander or not we are all equals here. This is now the were-people world, all of our voices shall be heard in the new land of law and order,” her finally words boom, and the crowd of growls and disapproval shifts quickly.

In a matter of seconds, all surrounding wolves are now howling into the night sky in agreement.

“Land of law and order or not, we still have to value and honor packs traditions,” my father is the one to come to my defense. He then gives me a fierce glare for the trouble that I’ve cost him. “Embry and Celine aren’t only wolves, but they are also Wilde wolves and need I remind you that only a Wilde wolf can judge another Wilde wolf’s actions,” he speaks all facts as he jumps down from the podium just to stand beside me.

I feel the air around me change becoming more charged the very moment his shoulder touches my shoulder. It is settled, mad, or not. My father will always come to my rescue. At least that hasn't changed.

“You are right,” Mecca agrees.“Celine and Embry are still very much so Wilde wolfs and pack law does state that Wilde wolves can only be trailed and judged by a Wilde wolf. So, Celine shall have that opportunity but Embry is also the beloved of our greatest enemy not to mention the fact that she is the special wolf born on the Luna passing day that our Goddess herself blessed us with. When all that comes into play, I believe that her fate should be left for our people to decide,”

Mecca walks a tab bit closer to me and says, “Her crimes are punishable by death, but she is also my niece who I cherish deeply. That's the only reason why I think it's best to propose a second-handed solution. An eye for an eye, all in the name of the path of blood,”

Wow! This she-wolf is good. She doesn’t give a rat crap about me for Goddess crying out loud, nor does she care about the wishes of the people.

This is all about one thing and one thing only, revenge. I honestly don’t understand how my people can’t see that, or maybe they do and just don’t care.

Maybe, this is about revenge to all of them!

Mecca then has the nerve to place her hand on top of my shoulder before shouting, “Bring out the prisoners,”

Hold on wait, what did she just say? Prisoners?!

What prisoners?

My head instantly snaps in the direction of the two new guards, followed by the Lycan Princess Eva, Speck, Anastasia, Ghost Falls, and no one other than Aunt Katherine.

Oh, my Goddess! We’re fucked.
