Chapter 17 Don’t Disobey Me 

“No!” Layla was so anxious that her voice broke. She walked to Wesley as fast as she could. Then, she knelt, hugged his thigh, and begged in a low voice, “Don’t do this, please.” 

Before, she had thought of trying her luck, hoping that he would let her go, set her free, and let her live a normal life in the future. 

However, now, she gave up, realizing that he would never let her

As soon as the phone reached Wesley’s hands, it vibrated again. 

Layla suddenly had her heart in her throat. Her hands tightly grasped Wesley’s trousers. Looking at him, she begged in a low voice, “Don’t answer it, please.” 

Wesley looked at the caller on the phone screen, lowered his head, and bit her ear. Then, he said lightly, “Layla, you forgot you would pay a price for disobeying me.”

Wesley held the phone high, pressed the answer button, and turned on the speaker. 

Layla’s heart suddenly sank. 

Zachary’s furious voice came from the other end of the phone. “Layla, it’s half past ten. Why aren’t you home?” 

Tears flickered in Layla’s eyes, and she bit her lips tightly and did not speak. 

“Layla, answer me. Why don’t you speak? Tell me, did you go to that old man again? Have you forgotten what I told you yesterday? If you go to him again, you won’t be my sister anymore! Layla…”
