“They should’ve told me where we were going, Vic! You don’t wear this to a club.” Davina said, gesturing to her clothing. Both Davina and Victor stood at the back of the organization’s van. They went with three other agents while the rest remained at the bed and breakfast. Before Davina arrived in Philadelphia and started going on the field with Victor, it was both Victor and Rick who always went as a pair. Rick was the only person Victor trusted completely on the field. After what happened with Victor’s ex-wife and Victor became in charge, he fired him. He didn’t have a partner for several months until after Davina came along. She was originally hesitant to be trained as an assassin. She knew how to work a hand-held gun, but that was about it. Victor taught her everything she needed to know. And now, she was one of the best shooters he had met in all of his life. He trusted her completely on the field.

“Looks fine to me.” Victor said, not even glancing in her direction as he checked the barrel of his gun. Davina sighed, knowing he paid no mind to what she had said, before they entered the car and headed into the city. Davina and Victor managed to enter one of the office buildings across the club and made their way up to the roof.

“I still don’t get how the maintenance card ever works. I mean, I’m not even dressed to work as a maintenance worker.” Davina said as she slowly walked with her back hunched over to keep from being seen by the bodyguards standing outside of the club.

“And I am?” Victor asked, slightly turning back to her. Davina quirked a brow at him before nodding. Victor shook his head at her before they made it to the ledge of the roof and hid behind it. They laid on their sides facing each other, waiting for a response from the agents lurking around the outside of the club.

“Oh, I don’t need to have a whole safe sex talk with you, do I?” Victor asked as he loaded up his gun in case of an emergency. Davina sighed.

“God, Vic. I had an adult life before coming here, you know? Much sooner than others can say they had.” Davina replied. Unfortunately for Davina, with the life she led in the past, she was forced to grow up too quickly. She laid there for a moment, trying not to remember that life.

“Hey, I am just checking. You’re.. like a daughter to me.” Victor said hesitantly, making Davina stop loading her gun and look up at Victor. “All of you are like my kids. I practically raised the others since Vincent wasn’t much of a caretaker, more of a bank for them. And you, well, you came along and fit right in with out dysfunctional family.” Victor continued. Davina tried to act like she didn’t care, but found it difficult to do Her heart melted at his confession.

“And of all of them... Dean?” Victor finally asked the question that had been irking him.

“Why do you say it like that?! You know him better than the other two!” Davina exclaimed as she lightly hit his shoulder.

“Well, yeah, but he’s not the very loving type. Jackson and Charlie seem much more like it. Although, please not Charlie. Never Charlie.” Victor replied.

“Neither of us did it out of love. We don’t even care much for one another. And I completely agree, never Charlie” Davina said followed by a laugh, making Victor smile at her. The sound of struggling caught their attention, making them peer over the edge to find one of their agents currently being choked out. Davina sighed as she rested her gun up on the ledge of the roof.

“We really need better agents out on the field.” Davina said. Victor held out his arm in front of her, shaking his head.

“Need something more quiet.” Victor replied. Davina sighed as she pulled her bow out from her backpack. She did the same and rested it on the ledge before shooting an arrow at the man. Victor then clicked on a device in his hand with a mic inside, turning it on before speaking.

“Bring him to the van. We’ll take him back for questioning.” Victor spoke. He then pointed back towards the door they came out of. Davina stood and crouched before walking over to the door, Victor following afterwards.

“How are we so certain he’s human?” One of the agents asked as they helped drag the tied up man into the van. He struggled and made attempts to scream beneath the tie wrapped around his mouth. They tossed him inside and entered before shutting the van door. Victor shrugged but Davina placed her hand on his arm, keeping him from moving. The other agent walked around to get inside the van while the two stood out there.

“What is it?” Victor asked. Davina held her finger against her lips as she shut her eyes and tried to listen to her surroundings. She found six heartbeats, telling her the person they captured was indeed human.

“I detect a heartbeat.” Davina said, making Victor frown. He wasn’t quite sure what she meant by that. Or even that she could detect a heartbeat from where they both stood.

“Dean said nothing?” Davina asked, making her eyes widen a little. Victor slowly shook his head in response, completely and utterly confused.

“I’ll tell you about it later, promise. For now, let’s get this show on the road, dad!” Davina exclaimed as she went around to the passenger side of the car but stopped when she realized what she had called him. She slowly walked backwards and peeked her head around the car, finding Victor was still there. He was now taken aback by the name she had used for him. He quirked a brow in her direction.

“I meant it as a joke!” Davina answered truthfully. She really had. She just hadn’t expected it to come out sounding so serious. Victor tilted her head at her, not buying it.

“We never speak of this again.” Davina said before making her way over to the passenger side and sat down. Once they made it back, they had Charlie come out and pull the enemy inside of the living room with all of the others there.

“Wouldn’t this be a fun thing to explain to the owners if they saw this?” Charlie joked as he brought the struggling man in with ease.

“Oh my god, are they near?!” Elliot asked, looking around.

“No, they left after breakfast.” Dean replied as he went to take the tie off of the man.

“Do we even have time for an investigation?” Davina said as she looked down at her watch.

“We certainly don’t. The club opens at 7. It’s currently 6:20.” Jackson said. Victor then turned to both Aaron and Elliot. He then pointed between the both of them and the enemy currently tied up in a dining chair.

“No, I’d rather be on the field! Please, I don’t want to be held responsible if he gets out!” Elliot exclaimed. Hereallydidn’t want to deal with Victor when he was upset.

“He won’t get out. Not with me here. You can trust me.” Aaron said, making Victor nod in response. With that, the rest headed upstairs to dress in club attire. Davina sighed as she went through the clothes she had tossed onto the bed earlier, trying to find something to wear. She turned to find Jackson putting on his jacket, making her quirk a brow at him.

“Are you wearing your suit to the club?” Davina asked.

“I am.” Jackson said as he went to button it. Davina’s lip slightly curled at the corner though her face couldn’t be seen by Jackson. She found it intriguing how he always wore a suit. She hadn’t ever seen him in normal clothes. Maybe once a pair of sweats. But during that time, her attention was more on Jackson and his hand wrapped around her throat.

“Why are you always wearing suits?” Davina asked.

“Because, I like to look presentable.” Jackson replied as Davina pulled her choice of clothing out of her bag.

“You looked fine without the jacket. You should fix your tie, though.” Davina said as she approached him. “May I?” Davina asked. Jackson didn’t respond. He only turned to face her. Davina took that as a ‘yes’ and began to work on his tie. With Davina’s focus on Jackson’s tie, and Jackson’s focus entirely on the young woman he had grown so fond of, neither had noticed the presence of two others. It wasn’t until the clearing of a voice caught their attention. They turned to find Dean waiting impatiently, and Charlie leaned up against the door frame with a smirk.

“I just keep finding you two like this.” Charlie said as he shook his head. Davina huffed.

“Like what?” Davina said as she finished fixing Jackson’s tie.

“All close and cozy with one another.” Charlie said in a girly voice. Davina rolled her eyes at him before walking over to the bed, picking up her outfit, and heading to the bathroom to change. After she shut the door, Charlie walked further into the room and plopped down onto the bed, getting himself comfortable while they waited.

“Interesting choice of clothing, Charlie.” Jackson spoke as he eyed Charlie up and down.

“I’m wearing the same clothing as you, Jackson.” Charlie said with slight confusion lacing his voice.

“The bow tie’s a little much.” Jackson said, making Charlie scoff. He then turned to Dean, waiting to see what he thought. Dean didn’t care, and he was about to say so when the bathroom door opened and a yellow light peered into the room. One minute, Dean was inside the bedroom, and the next he was being pulled into the bathroom. Dean frowned down at Davina as she closed the door and turned on the loud fan inside the bathroom. Davina turned to him with an almost concerned look across her features.

“You never said anything to Victor.” Davina said in a quiet voice. Dean tilted his head slightly, wondering what she meant for a moment. Davina gave him a look like he should know. Her mind then opened up to him, telling him exactly what she was referring to. She was referring to the marks along her back. The marks she received from a beast and that was slowly turning her into one too.

“It wasn’t my place. I figured you’d want to tell him about it yourself.” Dean replied, matching her quiet voice.

“I did. I just thought you would’ve.” Davina said, followed by a sigh as she leaned against the bathroom counter. Dean suddenly noticed how the top of her black dress lowered, pushing her chest out slightly for him to see. He turned his head and looked away, wanting to be respectful. He then remembered what both him and Charlie had walked in on. He never would’ve questioned it if Charlie hadn’t made the comment he did. He then remembered something had happened between Davina and Jackson the other day. He still wondered what happened. He also wondered what Charlie meant by ‘close and cozy’. He kept telling himself he didn’t care, that it wasn’t his business and that he didn’t need to know. But deep down, he wanted to.

“What’s going on with you and Jackson?” Dean asked as his eyes flicked back to Davina, landing on her sparkling ones. Davina tilted her head.

“You’ve already asked me this.” Davina replied.

“And you have yet to answer.” Dean spoke. Davina started to grow frustrated. She hated being questioned. Especially by him.

“Nothing is going on between us. I don’t understand why it’d matter to you even if there was.” Davina said.

“I told you that it was in your best interest not to associate yourself with beasts, romantically or.. sexually.” Dean answered, giving away that he believed that Davina and Jackson could’ve been more than just friends. Davina scoffed at him. She had long forgotten about being kind to him.

“Since when have I ever listened to you?” Davina asked, narrowing her eyes at him. She then left him with that, exiting the bathroom before exiting the bedroom and slamming the door behind her. Dean sighed before exiting the bathroom, finding Jackson and Charlie both standing, ready to go.

“She looked pissed.” Charlie said with a laugh as he went to follow her. Jackson said nothing. He only patted Dean on the shoulder before fixing his collar and exiting the room. The ride there was quiet for all. Davina for once didn’t feel like speaking in the car after what happened with her and Dean. She thought she was making progress with Dean, but he went and ruined that in her eyes. She didn’t feel much like trying anymore. She didn’t care if any of them saw her as bratty and unkind for the rest of the time she knew them. She decided they’d all just have to suck it up. Once they arrived, Davina headed to the back of the van to grab weapons out of her bag. She hid some knives under her dress in a garter and put a hand-held gun in her combat boots. Soon, Dean, Jackson, Charlie, and Victor were at the back of the van with her.

“You three have some sort of disguise for tonight, right?” Victor asked.

“I know I do, but how come Vina didn’t bring anything?” Charlie inquired as he put on his sunglasses.

“Because, Vincent hasn’t ever met me. If Anderson or Rick aren’t here then I should be good.” Davina spoke.

“I’m pretty sure you killed Rick.” Charlie replied. Davina shrugged her shoulders and nodded her head. She was pretty certain she had as well.

“What will we do about our scent though?” Davina asked. Jackson then pulled a small vile out of his jacket.

“A little dab on the wrist should mask us from beasts and any other supernatural being he is working with.” Jackson said as he passed the vile around, letting all apply it to their wrists.

“Great, we all set?” Davina asked.

“Just one more thing, guys. Everyone is going in pairs to ensure safety. You must stay at your partner’s side at all times.” Victor said.

“You’re with me.” Dean almost immediately said, turning to Davina. Davina huffed.

“I most certainly am not.” Davina replied. With that, Dean hoisted her over her shoulder, but not before pulling her dress down a bit to help cover her thighs.

“Hey, wait! Dean!” Davina exclaimed as she placed her hands on Dean’s waist to steady herself.

“Stick together you two!” Victor shouted at two of them as they began heading towards the building.

“Is this really necessary?” Davina asked in a slightly annoyed tone.

“Would you have come with me willingly?” Dean asked. Davina didn’t answer, confirming that she wouldn’t have. Instead of joining the line with all of the others trying to get inside the club, Dean carefully and quietly took the two of them to the only door that was left unguarded; the back exit. Once they were inside, Dean set Davina down. Davina huffed as she fixed her hair, trying to make it look more presentable. Dean examined his surroundings. He realized he brought the two of them into a storage room. Dean peeked inside some boxes filled with various liquor bottles and shot glasses. He picked one of the glasses up, reading the logo on the side of it.

“Ugh, supernatural hearing kicks in at the worst times.” Davina said as she covered her ears. She could feel the music vibrating through her body, making her feel uncomfortable. She was almost certain her ears would bleed due to the supernatural hearing picking up all of the loud noises within the club.

“You get used to it.” Dean said before setting down the shot glass while Davina pulled out a hand-held mirror and a tube of lipstick.

“Alright, let’s head in.” Dean spoke. Davina turned to him as she reapplied her lipstick.

“Wait a second, you’re not disguised. You can’t go in there like that.” Davina said, her voice not much audible due to her swiping the lipstick across her lips.

“Don’t worry about it. Nobody will pay attention to me.” Dean said, understanding her perfectly. He walked over to the door to exit the room but stopped when he realized Davina wasn’t following him. Davina gave him an unsure look as she put her items back in her pocket.

“It’ll be fine, Davina.” Dean said, giving her a reassuring look. “Besides, your uncle and the other agents walked in with masks Vincent has certainly seen before.” Dean said, making Davina frown. It was then she realized what he meant. After Vincent left, many changes were made. Uniforms weren’t one of those things.

“I guess I do work with dumbasses.” Davina said with a sigh as she finally followed Dean to the door. The two then entered the main area of the club where the dance floor, bars, and various tables around the room resided. The blaring music made Davina groan loudly, covering her ears once more. Dean turned back, having sensed someone entering in the same door he did. Jackson and Charlie appeared. Jackson examined the room, fixing his tie while Charlie examined the girls passing by. Davina hit him across the chest, making him wince and turn to her with a betrayed look.

“Go get me a drink.” Davina said, making Charlie scoff.

“Are you even old enough to drink?′ Charlie asked.

“23.” Davina reminded him. “Go.” Davina said, pointing in the direction of the bar. Charlie whined and stomped his foot down as he went to do what she told him to do, forgetting that he had a choice in the matter.

“23 and you’re hardly 5′ foot.” Charlie muttered as he walked away. Dean then turned to Davina.

“I don’t need you drunk. I can’t look after you and look for Vincent.” Dean spoke.

“If I were actually planning to drink, you wouldn’t need to look after me. I am not your responsibility, so stop trying to make me.” Davina said as she turned to Dean with her arms crossed.

“I sent him so he’d stop undressing girls with his eyes.” Davina said, narrowing her eyes at him before walking away from him and into the crowds of people.

“You have a talent for pissing that girl off.” Jackson said. Dean sighed tiredly as he ran his fingers through his hair.

“You aren’t eating properly. Without it, it exhausts you.” Jackson examined. He had known for a while. Jackson was quite observant. He noticed how Dean snapped quicker than usual. He also noticed how Dean would walk hunched over, sigh often, and various other signs that he hadn’t been feasting much.

“I ate this morning, I’m fine.” Dean replied.

“And when do you plan to eat again?” Jackson inquired. Dean never responded to that. Jackson hummed in response as he eyed his King, knowing why he had been starving himself.

“My King,” Jackson spoke, immediately gaining Dean’s attention. Dean didn’t care to be called ‘King’ Jackson knew this. And for many years, Jackson would only refer to Dean as his King when he felt it was necessary. When he felt a discussion needed to be serious. Dean glared at him, feeling annoyed with Jackson for referring to him as his ‘King’. Jackson turned to him, putting his focus solely on him.

“It’s what you are. You cannot help it that you need to feast on humans. Stop feeling guilt for what you were unwillingly made into and do what is necessary to live.” Jackson said in a serious tone. Dean blinked at him, knowing he was right. He sighed and turned away.

“Thank you, friend.” Dean said, shocking Jackson a little. In very rare moments would Dean refer to his co-leaders as his friends. They knew with the experiences they shared together, they most certainly were. But, to hear his King admit it almost made him break a smile.

“Anytime, my King.” Jackson teased, making Dean huff, finally making Jackson break out into an amused smile.

“Where my girl at?! I just waited a long-ass time to get Davina a margarita because the bartender had theaudacityto answer a phone call from his ex about her dumping him for someone else! I mean, you’re standing right there on the other side of the bar! There’s glasses, there’s ice, there’s lime juice, and there’s a blender. Yet you couldn’t make it while you’re discussing who gets to take the dog?! That is so rude and unprofessional!” Charlie complained, holding two margaritas in his hands. He justhadto get one for himself. Jackson rolled his eyes, making Charlie whine.

“What?!” Charlie asked before taking a sip from his limey beverage.

“Wait a second. Where is Davina?” Dean asked, realizing how long she had been gone for. Just then, Victor and another agent entered through the back entrance. Jackson and Charlie quickly nudged Dean away to look for Davina before Victor found out they had parted. Dean hesitantly walked through the crowd of people. He was growing annoyed with those surrounding them, dancing and bumping into him as they partied. The lights were annoying him just as severely. They flashed back and forth with different colors. Dean hoped the cool-toned colors didn’t make his eyes flash red. If there were another beast in here, they’d quickly grow aware of someone being there who didn’t belong. Just when he thought he couldn’t get more annoyed, seemingly a couple, danced in his path. He could see Davina due to being much taller than the people in front of him. And he was very close to her. He harshly pushed the people standing in front of them. They yelled and complained but Dean didn’t care at all. His focus was on Davina throwing her arms up in the air as she danced with her back to him. Davina twirled, her eyes landing on Dean as she continued to dance. Dean was quickly mesmerized by her every movement. The way her hips moved, the smile on her face when she noticed he was watching her, and the way her tight dress hung to her chest, making the top of her breasts pop out. Dean was too distracted by how good she looked to realize that her eyes flashed red in the cool-toned lights flashing on the dance floor. Davina twirled around once more, deciding she’d tease him for pissing her off earlier, but she was met with Dean’s broad chest in front of her. She slowly looked up, meeting his eyes. She quickly noticed how his light blue eyes darkened. She then tilted her head at him, unsure if the look in his eyes was due to anger or lust.

“You’ve finally found me.” Davina said with a small, innocent smile playing on her lips. Though, the thoughts racing through her mind were far from innocent.

“You shouldn’t have walked off. We’re supposed to stay together.” Dean said, making Davina pout playfully. “However, I will say, I am pleased I didn’t find you with someone else.” Dean said as his eyes drifted a little lower to her chest, his breathing becoming rapid. He just couldn’t look away anymore. She was an irresistible temptress that occupied his thoughts more often than he’d like to admit. It frustrated him to no end that he couldn’t get Davina out of his head. Davina lightly giggled.

“Dean,” Davina said as she brought herself dangerously close to him, a smirk appearing on her face. “Are you jealous?” Davina teased in a hushed tone, believing he’d never answer that question. He didn’t answer her the first time she asked for whatever reason. So, she thought that he surely wouldn’t now. Dean licked his lips and his eyes flicked up to her own, luscious, wine-colored ones.

“Yes.” Dean breathed out, catching Davina off guard and completely shocking her. Before she could even comment on his confession, Dean pushed Davina into another, more private room. He pinned her against a wall and tangled his long, tatted fingers in her hair before passionately kissing her.
