The bright light that lit up the darkness didn't go unnoticed by anyone. In a place that was filled with darkness and shadows, a sudden burst of light was an interesting change.

Staggering to her feet, Aria rushed towards the light, sprinting as fast as she could. She let out a yell, not bothering to be discreet as the moans and screams of the Zombies filled the air. They too were moving towards the light, hoping that it might be their salvation. Aria heard a twinkling laugh echo through the air before the Moon Goddesses voice filled the air.

"Come child, it is time to return home now." Aria let out a sob of delight as she approached the edges of the light and saw the Moon Goddess standing within the orb of light. Her smile warmed when she saw Aria, and she opened her arms for her. Aria stepped into the light hesitantly, and basked in the energy of the light that flowed through her. "Oh child, how brave you are," the Moon Goddess murmured into Aria's hair as she tightened her arms around her in a motherly gesture. For a moment, Aria thought that this might be a horrendous dream, and that she would awake any moment as a Zombie, but the Moon Goddess merely laughed and pulled away from Aria. "Your family is VERY persistent, Aria. You are lucky to have them." Aria's eyes widened and she stared up at the Moon Goddess with large eyes,

"My family is dead..." She murmerd, remembering her parents deaths and the Moon Goddess gave her a small smile.

"Oh child, you know who I am talking about. Not all family is blood related. Eve and Marcus, they love you like family, and your pack loves you with fierce loyalty. That is what family is child." The Moon Goddess tore her gaze from Aria and surveyed their surroundings with a faint scowl. "The Between is a place for lost souls, Aria, I didn't think to look for you here." Aria gave the goddess a bewildered look,

"You..you looked for me?" Aria felt honored that the goddess had looked for her, in fact, she felt so overwhelmed by what was taking place at the moment that she was a bit lightheaded. The Moon Goddess laughed, the tinkly noise filling the air once more, welcoming the zombies who had gathered at the edge of the light closer.

"Of course I looked for you child, I would never leave your soul. You have done so much, given up so much, the last thing I would do is leave your soul in the abyss." Her words filled Aria with a sudden hollow feeling,

"I'm going to the Resting Place now aren't I?" Now that the Moon Goddess was here, she felt a deep sadness at the thought of leaving Eve, and Marcus. She wasn't ready to pass on, and leave behind her mate and friend, but she had known what would happen when she summoned the dome, knew that she would die. Now, she must face her choices, despite her wishes. The Moon Goddess pondered Aria for a moment before shaking her head slowly.

"Not quite child...not quite." Aria gave her a confused look before a blazing white light swept over her and the last thing she remembered was the moon goddesses calming voice,

My thank you to you, child.

Aria felt herself falling through the air, a great whooshing filling her ears, before the moon appeared in front of her, and millions of bright stars covering the night sky. She let out a laugh and stared in wonder at the night sky as fell back to Earth. A familiar yipping filled her mind and Aria began to cry as she descended to Earth, her fall now controlled by a warm wind. MILEAN! Aria screamed out in her head and her wolf answered her back with a series of excited howls and yips. Aria felt herself slow a few seconds later, not on her accord, but the Moon Goddesses, before her feet touched the ground. She knew her powers were diminished, that she had used all of her power on the dome, and yet there was no gaping hole, no sadness at the loss.

She. Was. Alive.

As soon as her feet touched the ground she shifted into her wolf and called out to her other half. The gold specks in her fur shimmered under the moon, which seemed to glow brighter tonight, and she waited for an answer. After a long moment, she heard another howl fill the air, coming closer and closer to her, which she answered just as loud. She tipped back her head and let out another howl to the rest of her pack as well, pushing her power and joy into the howl, telling the story of her return in one note. The howls were answered almost immediately, and she heard the rush of paws against earth as her pack rushed to meet her. There was one scent that stood out amongst the others, one that she knew well, and she shifted back to her human form as Marcus's wolf emerged from the trees. His eyes found hers almost imdeiatly, and tears of joy fell down Aria's face as she fell to her knees, opening her arms for Marcus. Marcus was already rushing towards her in human form, tears of his own mingling with hers as he enveloped her in his arms. Their eyes never broke from one another as they stared at one another, their souls laid bare. Something new shone in both of their eyes, that hadn't been present before, and both themselves, and their wolves saw it. Their lips met midway, in a fiery, passionate kiss, that spoke what neither of them could put into words. Finally, after a long tiresome war, the last puzzle piece slid into place and they were complete.

Home. They were both home at last.
