Alpha's Fallen Angel
Epilogue-Felix

I watch from the trees as Amara kills the Vampire King, staring at his body like a woman possessed. The feathers of the blue jay I shifted into ruffle in anger as I watch the Demon King, the man responsible for the destruction of my life, approach her and put an arm around her lovingly.

I resist the urge to squawk in anger, remembering the loving arms of my own mother. The mother fled the underworld with her twin boys in tow because she was forced to work in the brothels, constantly being denied the position of a castle servant by the King.

That was all we incubi and succubi were suitable for sex and slave work, in his eyes. So, my poor mother, unable to bear having her body used to keep me and Axel fed and safe, fled to Earth. Only we were worse for wear there, unable to blend in when we were amongst humans, and no hope of a werewolf pack or Fae court taking us in. So, we build a house in rogue lands, somewhere no sane supernatural being ever ventured to, and no human ever came out alive. Although we were low-ranking amongst demons, we were still more than able to handle rogue wolves that came our way.

And they did. Every single night, our house was under attack. They smelled the food we kept on par, and when we would cook, our scents were potent there, letting the rogues know that we were there to stay.

For years, I bathed in their blood. Both Axel and I defended the house while Mother cooked our meals, and we both became skilled in combat, enough so that Axel suggested we try to prove our worth and become a soldier for King Armaros. He and I would get paid in the army, and mother wouldn’t have to work. It was the least we could do.

We plan to return to the underworld and prove ourselves to the King, but that night was when the rogues who still had some sanity and cunning in them attacked. They broke into our house silently, locking both mine and Axel’s doors while we slept, and had their sights set on Mother.

It was already too late by the time her screams reached us, and them locking us in our rooms only held us up for a second before we smashed the doors to ash with our magic. But the second it cost us was all they needed to rip her throat out.

Of course, they turned on us next, and we obliterated them, keeping the one with our mother’s blood-stained on his maw and torturing him for weeks in revenge for what he took from us. But it wasn’t enough; it would never be enough. So we made a plan to get back at the King. He was the reason we were here in the first place.

Fate was on our side; his wife had just given birth to an evil little thing that she handed off to a werewolf couple to save her from the angels, and then his precious little wife died shortly after. She didn’t even know we were there; she didn’t know we watched her fall slave to the vampires; she didn’t know we knew everything about her precious child. She did an absolutely flawless job at hiding from the prying eyes of the angels, but she did nothing about the monsters who lurked in the shadows.

Axel and I watched the King grieve, watched the broken man lose any semblance of himself from the loss of his mate. It was pathetic, really; with no wife and no baby to dedicate himself to, he was a quarter of the all-powerful King he once was in the months following her demise. If we had approached him then to avenge our mother’s death, I think he would have opened his arms up and bared his neck to us, hoping for the sweet relief of death.

So, I came up with a brilliant plan. I would hit him where it hurts, his kids. The only thing he had left. I didn’t know how I would get to the heir or the extra, seeing as they were under strict protection in the castle, but I could get to that spawn the angel bitch got rid of.

So I did. While it seemed the cold war between the angels and demons was about to heat right the fuck up, the fools believed that the child died along with the mother, so they relented. We could remedy that, but even if we weren’t so arrogant to believe we could fool with the angels, that would have to be very carefully thought out.

But the vampires? Their foolish leader was careless and had a linear train of thought; he cared about nothing except power and control. So, when I offered him up the tribrid on a silver platter, he ate it up. I made him believe I was his slave, only wanting her for her power, making him believe we were in this for the same reasons.

So, the idiots they were, they attacked the pack she was hiding in three days later. She was only two months old at this point, but the bastard gave me an opening I couldn’t help but take. When he killed their beta, I stepped in, the position of power making my access to her easy enough.

So I watched her grow up; I watched her live her carefree and spoiled life up until the death of her parents. I had already taken a dive into black magic at this point, so forging a bond between us was easy enough. But when her parents died, she was so deliciously vulnerable I didn’t have to do any work at all to bend her to my will.

I will say that I had expected some level of excitement when our “mating bond” snapped into place. Still, she had only looked at me with eyes full of pain and a slight hint of disappointment. I couldn’t blame her; I wasn’t exactly looking forward to fucking her, either. The only thing that got my dick hard was the reminder that I was about to fuck my enemy’s daughter, and I would surely let him know that in his final moments.

From there, breaking her was too easy. I watched as her eyes turned hollow instead of the pain that filled them. She was barely there, a robot; she even accepted that she wasn’t allowed to train, much to my surprise. I thought her own genes would prevail, and she would defy the Alpha of her pack and train behind his back; I even tried to train her a couple times to see if I could light the spark, only to snuff it out later, to no avail.

It was no secret she resented me, but I didn’t care; she was still here under my control. Sometimes I think the bitch fucked me just in the hope of feeling something. But it never worked; she remained a vacant shell of a woman up until the second she caught me with that damn omega.

I had half expected her to walk home, make me dinner, and pretend that nothing had happened. But the bitch snuck out of the pack, and if it wasn’t for Axel, I would have never guessed she would end up in Alpha Roman’s land.

But, my brother, who had the patience of Minerva, waited, watched, and followed her as soon as she escaped. He reported back to me as soon as she was within the borders of her “safe” pack, letting me know his own cunning idea to make sure we had eyes on her constantly without us having to be present.

So, I let her think she was safe there, and I likely underestimated her just a little. As she came into her powers, her old spark came back. That was fine, though; I would enjoy breaking her all over again when the time came.

Axel threw me for a loop, though; he visited the underworld a few weeks after she escaped my clutches and came back with hope-filled eyes. He had told me that the King’s heir had taken over the royal duties and would relieve the incubi and succubi from their sex and slave duties.

His excitement had almost convinced me, and it had almost made me feel bad for getting those magic-blocking cuffs to Horace, one of Silas’ most trusted men, so he could take over the job of breaking the heir. I had only expected him to torture her, maybe cut off one of her hands so she wouldn’t be able to wield magic, not rape the bitch. I was secretly glad she had managed to break free of the cuffs and kill his brothers. I would happily kill Horace myself if he wouldn’t be missed, but the heir is nothing short of a savage predator, so he’ll fall victim to her one of these days. Therefore, it wasn’t my problem.

But then I remembered it was much too late. Maybe if Mother was still alive, I would have considered letting the last 20 years be nothing but a waste, but she wasn’t. So I reminded Axel of that, and he agreed.

He may have agreed then, but the two-faced bastard was returning to the underworld more and more, not following through for me when I needed him, even though he got to sit on his ass for the last twenty years while I had to be the one subjected to dealing with the King’s pretentious spawn. As time passed, he grew increasingly reluctant in our plans.

So, I sent him on a death mission. The idea didn’t bother me too greatly; our relationship over the last 20 years had been solely focused on this task, and without it, we didn’t have much connection. I told him I needed Amara back, that she was getting too spunky and being trained too well, so I sent him to the border of Ivory Moon pack disguised as me. We were twins, after all, so he only had to shift a few key features to match my own, and they believed it just like that.

With Axel no longer weighing me down, I returned to Silas, and we made our action plan. Frankly, I couldn’t wait to be rid of this foul bastard. He was a disgrace. I may be evil, but my evilness is rooted in something worthwhile. But his? It’s rooted in absolutely nothing. There were times I walked through the streets of the projects in the Vampire Kingdom just to sneak into houses and plant extra rations of blood for the families.

They reminded me of my own family, only having what they were handed from their King, albeit I would even admit King Armaros wasn’t a tyrant like the fucker Silas was, just an ignorant classist who believed the demons like me deserved to spend their lives serving others.

So, every night, I portaled to those lands after stealing Silas’ personal blood supply and making sure the innocents who actually deserved them got it. Occasionally, I would find a desperate vampire trying to rob another family for blood. I ensured they got extra rations, too, shifting into someone unrecognizable. They were only looting out of pure desperation, so I couldn’t blame them, and I certainly wouldn’t punish them.

Axel had spied on Damon and Samirah several times, so I was well aware of what they were up to, and I had no plan to stop them. Sometimes, I even made it out to the death fields before them and healed the women left there with my own magic just to give them a chance to survive and recover. Watching what the soldiers did to the other women made me sick, so sometimes I even took the most heinous ones who wouldn’t be missed to my hideout and tortured them until they died.

I fled Silas’ forces after I captured Amara; my job was done. Damon and Samirah would take it from here, I knew that fucker Damon was the one who helped the Demon King’s mate escape the vampires, so he would get Amara out of there. Then, my actual plans would spring into action.

I blinked, returning to the present world and pulling myself out of my thoughts. Now that the vampires were out of the way, I had to report back to my true allies. So, I threw a little invisibility cloak over myself as I shifted back into a human and portaled to my destination.

I could only portal to the front gates of my allies’ palace; the rest of the land had wards preventing any angels or demons from portaling in it. I went through the excessive security, being scanned for metal, x-rayed for any weapons I might have shoved up where the sun didn’t shine, and finally, taking an elixir that would stun my magic for eight hours.

I hoped they would let me reside here, though; while I was used to sleeping in a poorly made nest at this point, shifting back into a bird was not in my top ten ways of how I wanted to spend my Sunday night. But, I couldn’t get too comfortable or demanding with this particular man. He was nothing like Silas; he was cunning, patient, and ever-calculating.

I lowered my eyes as I approached him, being used to the whole submissive act by now. When I finally was within a few feet of him, I knelt, and his booming voice echoed around the room.

“You may rise, Sir Felix,” he said, and I did

I finally lifted my eyes to the man. He was intimidating as fuck, not someone even I would challenge. His long blonde hair went down past his shoulders, complimented by a beard that went past his chin. He had a scar going through his left eye, making him all the more intimidating. He was in the same clothes he always wore, pure white robes accompanied by gold bands that decorated the outfit, his wrists, neck, and ankles. He didn’t look a day over thirty, but the man before me was well over twenty thousand years old.

“The tribrid has defeated the vampire king. She was the one who killed them, so she is technically their queen, a duty which she will not want, so their race will be in disarray still for when we move in.” I report to him

He nods, contemplating for a minute. The man never spoke without thinking each and every word out carefully; I had to admire him for it. Although, I suppose, if I had been alive all that time, I might possess that same intelligence.

“Very good. It won’t be long before King Armaros announces that the lost princess has been found, so we will not move a muscle until then. We will let them think that we are ignorant and acting on sporadic plans instead of our meticulous plan of attack. That said, I don’t want your face to be seen by anyone. You will reside here with the slaves but in better conditions as a reward for your information and duties until we attack.” he says, giving me no room for argument.

I resist gulping, knowing the man before me doesn’t respond well to any display of weakness or fear, and nod once. I expected to be put with the slaves, who were mainly rogue demons, but I would be a fool to do anything to try and help them. But how could I not? They were innocents; many were incubi and succubi like me who had fled to Earth hoping to create a better life for themselves, only to end up captured.

I don’t have time to second guess anything, though, because the bastard has his guards cuff me quicker than I could act.

“You are still a demon; I am doing you a kindness, so remember that when you’re called to battle,” Jeremiel tells me before I’m hauled away.

As soon as I’m out of his chambers, a blindfold is thrown over my head so I can’t see the route to the slaves. I let my feet drag, hoping I could memorize certain bumps or turns as I’m hauled through the castle of the Gods.

Eventually, we come to a stop, and my blindfold is ripped off of me as I’m thrown into an apartment-like room. I couldn’t complain about my own well-being as I sat in the room after the door slammed and locked behind me. I can already see it has everything I need: fresh fruit sits in a basket on the counter, the area is fully furnished, and I can see at least two more rooms, rooms-presumably a bathroom and a bedroom.

But my gut churns as I look to my left and spot a sizeable ceiling-to-floor window that shows a clear view of the slave camps, and much to my horror, I watch as at least a hundred demons and even a few Fae wolves, dragons, and vampires are being whipped.

Fuck, what have I gotten myself into?
