Chapter 93

**Nora POV

I was more than a little excited that Blake had arrived to pick me up from the store. It was such a minor thing, but it made me feel loved. The fact that he had gone out of his way to come get me so that we could walk home together and spendju st a few extra minutes together was very sweet.

The walk was pleasant and we had both avoided bringing up any topics that could spoil our good moods. It was a much needed break from the serious topics that seemed so unavoidable for us in the past few months.

It was good to feel like a somewhat normal couple for once.

I slowed my pace as we approached the front door. I didn’t want to go back to focusing on our responsibilities just yet.

“Where are you headed next?”Iasked Blake.

“I was hoping you were free for awhile,” he said.“I had to reschedule a meeting for later tonight, so I have a few hours to myself. I’d like to spend this unexpected free time with you. Maybe we can have lunch in the garden?”

“I can’t think of any way I’d ratherspend my time,” I answered.

Blake’s l*p quirked up into a smirk. “Really?”he asked teasingly.“Youcan’t think of anything else you’d rather do?”

I raised my eyebrows at him in faux surprise.“No, why? Were you hoping I would suggest something else?”

Blake opened the door for me and grinned.“I was.”

I tried to keep the innocent act up as I entered the house and headed toward the stairs.“Oh?”

He followed closely behind me as we headed toward our bedroom. He was so close that I could feel his b*dy heat and it sent a thrill through me. It had been far too long since we’d had a chance to be intimate. It seemed like everytime we started to touch, someone rushed in with an important letter or Blake was urgently called away on some vital business.

“We’re tempting fate you know,”Isaid as I pushed the bedroom door open.“If we have a nice quiet lunch, nothing will go wrong, but the second we start to undress, someone is going to need us.”

Blake grabbed my wrist and spun me around, pinning me to the door. He k*ssed me with a heat I hadn’t felt from him in ages. Arousal shot through me at the rough contact and I moaned softly.

I could feel my face heating up as I watched him slowly pull my pants down my legs. Blake’s eyes were filled with desire as he stared up at me. That smug grin of his was back and it made me want to hide my face.

I must seem so silly blushing from his attention, especially at this

point in our relationship. I lowered my eyes and tried to force myself to calm down. My heart was thundering in my chest and I felt like I was getting breathless already.

Blake surged forward suddenly and pinned me to the mattress. I gasped in surprise and he chuckled.

“It’s embarrassing,”I argued. I ranmy hands down Blake’s back and pulled him closer.“I feel so silly.”

“It’s adorable,”he corrected.

“Not exactly what I’m trying to bein bed,”I muttered.

Blake chuckled and grabbed my hips.“What do you want to be in bed?”He pulled me into the position he wanted me in, then leaned close to my face.“Show me.”

The challenge in his voice spurred me into action. I shoved his shoulder and rolled us over so that I was pinning him down instead. Blake raised a brow in surprise as I straddled his hips. Before I could lose my nerve, I grabbed his cock and guided it into me.

Blake moaned and watched me sink onto him. Judging by the look on his face, he was barely holding back. The thought of making him lose his composure made me shudder.

I rested my head on his chest and focused on calming my breathing. My eyes felt heavy and I worried that I might fall asleep. It probably wouldn’t matter if I did, though. There wasn’t anything that needed

Blake’s arm relaxed around me after a few minutes and the steady rise and fall of his chest told me that he was asleep. I couldn’t begrudge him the rest. Blake had been working so hard lately, I knew that he was exhausted, even if he tried to hide it from everyone else.

There was a time when I wouldn’t have understood his exhaustion. Before I met Blake, I really didn’t appreciate how much work it was to lead a pack. I should have, I was raised by an Alpha and Luna, but I never appreciated how much they did.

Blake’s position was even more complicated than a normal Alpha’s. He wasn’t only responsible for his own pack, he was responsible for the entire kingdom.

I liked to think that I was helping. People really seemed to think that I was. It was surprisingly easy for me to step into the role of Luna once I

stopped overthinking it. It almost came naturally to me.

The thought made me uncomfortable for some reason. Was it natural for me to be a leader? Did it run in my blood?

I had no way of knowing and it haunted me.

I cuddled closer to Blake and he tightened his arm around me. I tried to put the thoughts out of my mind. This was what mattered. I knew for certain that this is where I belonged.
