Lorena POV

My eyes fluttered open to a bright light that almost blinded me. I looked around me and noticed that I was at the royal hospital. I tried to lift my hands and surprisingly I could lift them rubbed my eyes and looked around yet again hoping to se someone that I know but there was no one around and everywhere was silent. I tried to figure out how I got there and I suddenly remembered that I had heard about Danielle getting killed and in that process, I had also fainted. I had no idea why anyone would want to kill her.

Although I hated her guts for everything she had done to me but still I wouldn't want her to die just yet. I couldn't believe that someone like her had to suffer an unfortunate death. While thinking about her, I tried to get out of bed hoping that I would see a sign of Fenrir but suddenly, the light went off.

“Hello” I shouted. “Who is there?" I asked as I tried to get out of bed. Because it was pitch black, I couldn't see anything at all. I heaved a deep sigh and used the bed frame as my eyes. This usually happens anytime someone is about to get killed and I have seen a lot of scenes in movies and stories.

I wasn't ready to die yet even though I wanted to live a happy life forever but with the way things are going at that moment, my death could come anytime soon.

“What the hell are you even trying to do huh?" The voice in the dark shouted at me. “How dare you try to move when you can't even be seen!”

The voice was loud but sounded like a man’s and a woman's voice at the same time. It was hard to notice the difference. It was as if the person was using a megaphone to speak. “Who the hell are you?” I shouted and swung my hands forward hoping to see the person but I couldn't as all I could see at that moment was nothing.

I was blind like a bat.

“I have waited for this perfect day to get rid of you and surprisingly, you fell into my traps,” The voice laughed. She was talking as if she knew me from somewhere or someone.

Who could this person be? I thought as I felt my legs shaking from the fear of the unknown. I could die there at that moment and not fulfilled my promise of getting married to someone who loves me and also freeing the humans from the werewolf's cruel rule. I heard the footsteps sounding on my left-hand side and I moved in quick action hoping that I could slap the assailant on any part of his body but instead my body bent and I fell to the ground.

“Oh goodness” I heaved a deep sigh as I heard the person laughing like a maniac. I was hit on the back and I groaned in pail as I fell to the ground.

“You are pathetic even for someone who promised to save the humans? How dare you desist from your initial plans to help the humans. Now you bow to the werewolves and worship their feet because you think you deserve a chance huh!” I was hit in the face in the darkness and I fell to the ground groaning in pain.

“Why are you doing this?" I asked whosever was attacking me.

“Because you are not doing as you've planned. You promised to save the humans but now you are slowly turning to become like them."

From the way that person sounded, it made it seems like the person also had a saving agenda like me. The person also wanted to save the humans but he thinks that I have changed my plans and because he tried to kill me.

“Is this way you killed her huh?" I shouted. “Is this why you killed Danielle?”

The assistant laughed. “That whore was a perfect bait to get you because you are starting to act like them!” I pushed again from the back and this time, the hit affected my stomach real badly that it made coughed out copious amounts of blood. “Why did you decide to change your mind huh?" My hair was grabbed and pulled backward.

“Why are you torturing me!” I screamed and held onto the person's hand. I scratched his hand with my nails and I noticed the softness of the hand. The person attacking me wasn't just anyone but someone who wanted me dead. Someone who wa close to Me and knows everything about me. “If you want to save the humans then you can go ahead and do that! You didn't have to kill me!” yelled at the top of my voice. “I didn't do anything wrong!”

The assailant didn't reply and instead, he continued to drag my hair until he hit my head on the wall. “I am no hero but getting rid of a stupid heroine like you who is all about the mouth is something that I hoped to do any time!”

“You are a monster!” I screamed. “You are a crazy monster,” I gritted my teeth as I continue scratching his hands.

“At least my monster self knows that I have no redemption but as for you, death I'd sure you because you are a big disgrace who deserved to be eradicated!” He slapped me hard across the face. “That position that you crave so badly is going to be your end!” He laughed.

I remained mute thinking about how the assailant could see in the dark. Except he was someone with super vision, there wa no way he could see me no matter how hard he tried. “Die!” He yelled and I closed my eyes. I didn't give up but instead prayed silently to be saved by someone and just then, the lights came on and I heard footsteps approaching us. The grip on “my hair disappeared and what follows was a loud crashing of glass. My heartbeat quickened and I refused to open my eye. I felt a presence beside Me and I fluttered my eyes open to see Fenrir beside me. “Fenrir!” I burst into tears.
