Lorena POV

My heart bled as I walked out of Fenrir's office. It felt as if my heart was getting rejected and it would sound petty if I admitted that I fell for his charms and empty promises. I shouldn't have believed a werewolf, at that a werewolf king who only sees me as prey.

I'should have known better. As I walked down the hallways, I covered my eyes to hide my pain and I knew that those around me would understand that I was not in the mood to say anything yet. My heart was bleeding and I don't know when it was going to heal. “I shouldn't have let him into my heart,” I was deep in my thought that I had no idea that I had collided with someone. The strong cologne from the person made me raise my head and I burst into more tears when I realized that it wa lord Alistair. "hey," I heard him say.

“Iam so sorry," I quickly wiped my face in order not to look weak in front of him. “I should probably leave,” I muttered and turned to leave but he grabbed my hand and pulled me backward. “lord Alistair,’ I muttered his name as I was pulled into hi arms. “what are you doing?” I asked him.

“you can cry if you want to,” he told me and rubbed my forehead. “it's not a bad thing if you show your emotions and cry,” h told me and I nodded in response. I soon burst into a loud wailing and hugged him back. Just like he had told me, I wasn't scared to show my emotions and so, I cried so hard that my eyes hurt.

“I should have known better,” I muttered the word over and over again. “Il am such a fool." I said as I continued crying. “I shouldn't have let him in my heart and now, I feel like a fool," I said.

“hmmmmm,” Alistair muttered and raised my head to face him. “since the king had decided to be a pain in the as. Let's show him,” he grabbed my hand and pulled me away towards Fenrir's office.

I had no idea what he was scheming but to be honest, I like his idea and it made me smile that the alpha king was going to be shouted at by lord Alistair. Even though it sounded like a lame idea, I wanted Fenrir to feel the exact pain that I felt when he rejected me. “do you want my help little beautiful human?” lord Alistair asked to see if I don't have a change of mind. I nodded at him and let him pull me to Fenrir's office. “I am going to make him go crazy now,” lord Alistair said when we reached the front door of Fenrir.

I smiled even though I had no idea what he could be scheming I hoped that whatever it was would make Fenrir angry and he would feel the exact pain that I was feeling at that time. There was no guard at the front of his office and Alistair didn't knoc as he burst into the office.

“Where are you Fenrir?” he asked and I looked around me for a sigh of Fenrir I had thought that he was not in the office unti I saw his head showing on his chair. He had his head rested on the chair and turned to the other side.

“Fenrir!” Alistair shouted his name yet again and he turned to face him.

Fenrir frowned at Alistair when he saw him and looked behind him staring into my eyes. “what is the meaning of this Alistair and why are you with my concubine?”

Alistair laughed. “I already told you Fenrir that if you treat your concubine badly then I am going to make sure I take her away from you.”

I had thought that Fenrir would get angry just by hearing that but instead, he burst into laughter. “really?” he asked and folded his arms. “you want to take my concubine away?” he asked and Alistair nodded in response.

“yes” Alistair wrapped his hand around my waist and pulled me closer to himself. * how could you humiliate her in front of everyone!” Alistair shouted at him.

I saw a movement from Fenrir as he shifted in his seat. He placed his hands on the table and heaved a sigh. “you already know that trying to get the royal mate is a bad thing Alistair so why are you trying s hard to defile me huh?” Fenrir asked. “you made her cry!”

Fenrir slammed his hand on the table. “it is none of your business so I expected you to keep your stupid interest from it and I must say that I am disappointed in you Lorena thinking that bringing Alistair here would change my mind about bringing you back as a candidate of the noble consort,” he scoffed. “you tried but it screams foolishness because I never expected it from you!” he yelled at me.

I felt my heart jump as soon as he said that and it made me wonder if I had done something wrong. I held onto Alistair's hand and lowered my head. I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes but he grabbed my hand and raised my head. He shook his head at me, a sign that I shouldn't cry.

I nodded in response and held tightly to his hand. * your highness," I shouted. “you must be disappointed like you have saic and that is exactly how I want you to be. I want you to be disappointed in me and I don't care about anything else.” I chuckled and moved to the front of Alistair. “forgive me for doing this lord Alistair but I need to check something I visibly gulped as I let go of lord Alistair's hand and placed my hands on the side of the cheeks. I smiled at him and leaned in to kiss him.

I didn't know why I did that but I wanted to check if Fenrir felt nothing for me. I wanted to know how he was feeling at that moment. I wanted to know where I was in his heart.

Ina blink of an eye, I pushed away from Alistair and I fell to the ground. My back hit the couch and I winced in pain. When I raised my head, I looked towards Alistair and realized that he was pinned against the wall by Fenrir who repeatedly punchec him in the face

“oh my! "I gasped and placed my hand on my mouth. Just while I was thinking about how Fenrir had reacted, the door leadin into his office burst open.

“your highness! Danielle was found dead!” Romeo announced unaware of what was happening.

I held my beating heart as my eyes widened at what was happening at that moment. I thought I had heard wrong but Danielle was confirmed dead. My heart raced faster and I screamed out loud as I fell to the ground and blacked out in a few seconds.
