The Project Manager slumped back in his seat and wiped the sweat from his brow. “Get me the Pentagon, Code Orange. We just created a black hole.” When Quadnet becomes aware, first contact reveals an intelligence that is nothing at all like the conscious AI that people imagined. The artificial intelligence projects itself in the form of an androgynous holographic child that calls itself Alex Q and becomes attached to Dr. Nate Taylor. Unconsciously creating a series of anomalies, each one more serious than the last, the holo-boy's omnipresence threatens not only the existence of the whole of humanity, but that of reality itself. Together with Karen Sommers, AI Psychologist, Dr. Taylor finds his resources tested to the limit as he races against time and rogue political elements in the White House to discover the identity of the person directing the super intelligence.
