Chapter 26

Nathan's Point of View

-Alpha, hundreds of wolves are approaching the main gate. They are followed by Julien Crane and another man.- A guard mind-links me.

Wow, I can't believe he came all this way, and so soon. I haven't heard from Frankie and the guys since they confirmed the saw her last night and were planning an abduction. I assumed they were unsuccessful because I haven't heard from them since. I had a meeting this morning and was going to plan a larger attack, but I guess the attack is coming to me. If 1 kill h today, then there will be no one left to protect her. No one keeping us apart.

I send a mass mind link.

-All warriors and able bodies fighters, assemble at the main gate. An army is approaching, and we are under attack. Children, women and elders assemble in the packhouse basement.-

-How many wolves?- I mind-link my guard as I make my way out of the packhouse and towards the main gate.

-A few hundred. I'm not sure.-

As I approach the gate, I hear a voice yelling, and it's Julien’s.

“You all know my sister Lauren; she’s sweet and kind. She looked after some of your kids in the daycare when she was he After Alpha found out they were mated, he treated her like s**t, 50 she rejected him and ran away. “Those of you who know Lauren know that she is sweet and kind and would never hurt anyone. Yet he planned to commi heinous act against her because he wasn't man enough to accept her when he had the chance. I warned him that I would kill him if he didn't leave her alone and I plan to make good on that promise today. MY very sweet Luna, Lauren, in all her gentleness, hated the idea of anyone getting hurt. So, on behalf of MY mate, I offer to all of you the opportunity to walk away. Let me fight him. He's the only one that needs to die. Anyone who wants to walk away from this fight, do so now. Yo have a free pass. Go into the packhouse, or to your homes. This is your chance, otherwise, we don't stop until your Alpha dead, and we kill anyone who comes in our way,” he booms.

“You come to my Pack and make this offer? Do you think my people will abandon me? Their Alpha? And where do they go when 1 kill you? I assure you anyone who leaves now, will have no place here tomorrow,” I roar. I have faith in my pack, bu needed to nip any second guessers in the bud.

“One more thing," Julien adds.

Zac's Point of View

This is him? This was her first mate? He's smaller than me, but he also just looks pathetic. For some reason, I was expecting... more.

“One more thing," Julien says. “I JULIEN CRANE REJECT CLAW MOON AS MY PACK,” he yells, and I can see the rage on Nathar face.

“You were a traitor anyways. I would have kicked you out after the s**t you pulled,” he seethes.

“Yes, after finding out my Alpha wanted to abduct and rape my sister, I'm the traitor. You know what the most f****d up thing is? You wanted to reject her because you had big dreams for this pack, and you thought she would make you weak. you just would have accepted her, she would have made you happy, and you'd be Alpha, and you would have lived a long happy life. Now? You're going to die, just a year into your reign,” julien explains. Oh, that revelation has to sting. Especiall because he wants her so badly.

“If it makes you feel any better, you weren't destined for each other anyways. She was always meant to be mine. You were just mated to her, to get her to me. She never would have left this pack if it weren't for you, so Thank you!" I smile, and he lets out a growl.

“Make your choice now!” I roar.

I want to get on with this. I look around and maybe 60-70 people start to walk away. That's a lot of people, and I'm happy about it, although I would like a lot more than that to turn their back on him, for Lauren's sake.

“If you leave now. Don't expect my mercy when we wipe them out” Nathan yells. They keep walking.

“You're traitors. I'll have your families murdered after this,” Nathan seethes.

“Anyone who walks away from this fight can join my pack,” I rebut.

“You can leave here with me today. Do not fear this man,” I bark. With that information, a few other people start to walk away.

Nathan lets out a roar and shifts. All of his warriors were in their human form, and they swiftly shift as well. Julien and I follow suit, and suddenly both sides are crashing into each other. It's utter chaos.

I want Nathan, but he seems to have a different tactic than I do. I am at the front and centre of this fight, but he’s hanging back a little. They are outnumbered, so he should be front and centre since he’s supposed to be the strongest one in his pack.

The sounds of snarls, growls and yelps filled the air. It's mayhem, but I want Nathan. I rip through a few wolves trying to make my way to him, but I keep seeming to get further from him. I see him biting the side of one of my warriors who is fighting one of his. I wanted to stop the 2 on 1 attack, and in my distraction, I am hit from the side and go tumbling down. {jump up, ready to fight, and see that one of Jack's guys is taking care of him now. I turn my attention back to Nathan anc his 2 on 1 attack with my warrior. My warrior is retreating, injured while more of my team has pushed forward. Nathan continues to back up, and I continue to try and get to him. A wolf lunges at me, and 1 slide low quickly so I can get my snc under his neck quickly. My teeth connect, and I rip suddenly.

I stop to look around, and take in my surroundings. I see Jack to my right tearing through wolves, and I can see Nathan's guys back up in fear from him. Jack's an animal.

Then I spot Nathan again. My teeth ache to rip into him, and I try to zig-zag through the field to make way to him. I'm not successful as I'd like to be, because I keep having to stop to fight. I rip through 3 more wolves as I make my way closer to Nathan. I'm nearly there, and I jump over 2 wolves fighting to finally reach him. My paws crush into the dirt in front of Nathan, as I land gracefully. He snarls at me, and I let out a growl of my own before I lunge at him, and he lunges to me. our bodies crash up against each other, and we both try to connect our jaws to each other's neck, but we end up falling t the ground.

I jump up faster than he can, and smash into his body, making him fall to the ground again. I pounce on him while he’s st on the ground. I see that fear flash in his eyes, and it brings me so much satisfaction. He wanted to hurt her, and now her knows that'll never happen. I lower myself, and my teeth make contact with his throat with force. I rip the flesh from his neck. His body lay their gargling blood, and I bite again, holding tight to snap his neck. I bite at his neck one more time, severing his head completely from his body. I let out a howl and then lift and throw his severed head.

I have done what I came to do, and it feels good. So f*****g good. I take a look around me, and the fighting is dying down.The smell of blood is thick in the air and there are wolves on the ground everywhere. Many dead, some mortally wounded, and some wounded but will pull through. I howl again, halting the last of this fight.
