Zaphira, listen to me child they are close they can sense you. They will not rest until they get you, you must leave you must… You must.

I grunted as voices whispered to me, a black smoke circling me as a smoky image of my town played in front of me like a scary projector and a horror movie.

Shadowed figures slowly crept in the darkness of my town, avoiding the streetlights as if they were their kryptonite. They glanced at each other as they nodded to each other as if to confirm a direction.

“Listen Zaphira, it is time that you know, that you know the truth if you don’t it could… It could be bad you must learn or they will catch you.” The voices chanted.

My heart pounded in my chest as I watched the shadowed figures stealthily walk around my town, like death hunters from the Henry patters series, where they hunted Henry down to kill him.

“What! Who are these people? And what do I need to know does it have something to do with the ring? What do they want from me?” I said as I watched in horror as they stopped in front of the school as if expecting me to pop out from the trees.

Where am I supposed to go? What would be safe from these… Monsters when I can’t just pack up and teleport that’s impossible. Well at least if you are me, I bet Valentine would be able to teleport easily with his magic he’s learning.

I hugged myself fearfully as my heart pounded in my chest, tears roomed my eyes as a parade, and wished that mom was here to reassure me to tell me that everything was going to be okay.

I could feel my body feeling light as warm energy surrounded me as if mom was there hugging me like I wanted. I opened my eyes to see a small diamond-like thing floating in the darkness.

I slowly moved towards it as the image came into focus, a cosmic heart floated in its spot, lighting up the darkness all around.

“Do you see? Do you see the heart, the heart of the universe?” The voices asked softly as if they were trying to be patient with me.

Is that what that is? The heart of the universe, wait why would the universe have a heart is it living?

I shook my head frantically going looking back at the floating heart, a small humming sound coming from it as if it was calling to me.

I don’t have time to figure out at the moment whether or not any of this is even plausible if those things are after me, I have to find a way to get out of harm's way and if this heart is my key then I have to listen.

“I do but what is it?” I asked trying to sound unfazed by what I was looking at.

“That Zaphira is the key to the universe only children of the universe or the keeper of the hear can the heart.” The voices said as a little orb started to dance around me.

“Children of the universe? Like God or something like that?” I asked curiously.

“Something like that, the children of the universe are children that are made or born from cosmic deities.” The voice said.

Wait like children of God or something like that? Is the orb trying to tell me I am a child of God? Or some sort of universal deity how is that even possible?

“So, children of the universe can see this heart does that mean I’m inside the universe?” I asked as I looked around the black void.

“You are in the between, you are not exactly in the universe but you’re not exactly where you are either you are in the rift.” They said nonchalantly.

“The rift? What does that mean?” I asked feeling nervous for some reason.

“This Zaphira is the rift, it is the between the universes, you can see the heart because you are in the in-between, but you can still wake to your own world. The in-between is just before one world to another.”

The voices said as the black void started to clear as if a vacuum was sucking up all of the darkness.

Moments later I could see what looked like space, nebulas and asteroids filled what looked like a glass wall. I looked out to the space to see several planets that looked like earth dancing around the box.

Oh my God, this feels like a dream if I didn’t have a bunch of people trying to murder me or wait maybe it’s just a dream, and no one’s trying to murder me right?

“These are the planets, also known as dimensions. Each dimension is similar to your own world but different in its own way from the people inside or the world itself entirely. These worlds are like mimics of your own, some of them can be even paralleled to your own.” The voices said.

Wait so this stuff is real? Like there really is dimensions that are parallel to our own. Scientists would be beaming at this sudden discovery… If I cared to tell them, I don’t think they would believe me even if I told them.

“So you’re telling me that each planet is a copy of my own? But how? I mean how is this even possible?” I asked.

The voices said nothing as they floated around the heart as if trying to think of something to say to explain what I was seeing.

“Each universe has its own copy this universe happens to be yours and these are the copy planets there are several other universes with the same thing, you can travel the galaxy and come across multiple versions of your own world but they are never the same as you know from experience.” The voices said.

From experience what are they talking about? Wait are they talking about Valentine? Does that mean one of these planets is… Valentines?

“Are you saying that I’ve interacted with somebody from one of these dimensions? Are you referring to Valentine?” I asked

“Yes, your friend… Valentine is a shadow of a person from your own universe, he shares the same name as that person but their personalities and interests are different. Even the world he lives in is different from your own but names and titles can be similar.”

How the heck am I even… But that explains it I was right Valentine is from somewhere else and even though he looks like Blaine he’s not Blaine.

“But how am I able to communicate with somebody from another dimension?”

“Because Zaphira you are a child of the universe, you are what we call a rare one.” They said.

“A rare one? What is that?”

“A rare one as if being born from a child of the universe and the child within the void. It is almost unheard of for someone to be born like that and not many people take kindly to them.”

“To people like me? But why what does my existence have to do with them? I’m not anything other than a normal person from my own world, I mean I can barely keep my friends together, and apparently, I’m an easy person to lie to.” I said thinking about Blaine and Elizia.

“People like you are…”

Just before the voices could save more the blackness started to swallow the planets again shrouding me back into the darkness with only the heart lighting the way.

“It is time for you to wake, touch the heart and you will see what you need to know. It is time Zaphira.”
