β€œWho’s there?” I demanded as I looked around the abandoned street, not even a single person walking by. Oh, my god am I am imagining things now? First, I am seeing Blaine at the store who claims he’s not Blaine and now I feel like somebody is following me.

I shook my head annoyed as I continued to keep walking, my heart still pounding in my chest as I tried not to let the feeling bother me.

Your just imagining things Zaphira, you’re only jumpy because of the movie you watched last night there is no one following you.

I rounded a corner when a shadow passed again making my heart jump. I spun around glancing in all corners, nothing but an empty street and leaves dancing in the wind.

Are you sure she’s the one? A voice said in the wind as it whispered in the dark

She smells of it I have never smelled it so, so strong on a human before. Another voice said in the darkness.

β€œWho’s there?” I yelled as I looked around. The smell of rain filling the air as I tried to keep walking.

β€œI’m starting to regret buying so much maybe Blane was right I should buy less.” I thought as I gripped my food and tried o ignore the voices.

The site of my house just sending joyful butterflies in my stomach as I happily walked towards the front door, putting my food down in front of me as I fumbled for my keys.

Just before he opened the door I turned around glancing to see if anybody was behind me just before I entered the house.

See nobody’s following you, you are just imagining things I told myself as I locked the front door and dropped the groceries on the floor.

I shuttered as I leaned on the counter for a brief moment before going through my bags.

β€œWhat the heck was with Blaine? Why was he… Pretending to be so stupid? I thought as I put some of the groceries away.

β€œHey!

I nearly jumped out of my skin as I turned my head to see Blane look down on me. His goofy grin spreading.

β€œWhat are you doing here?” I finally asked as I exhaled one more time then turned to face him properly.

β€œWhat are you talking about? I told you I said I was going to come here after you got back from the store.” Blaine said confused.

I glanced at him in disbelief as I thought of him walking around the grocery store with that strange basket, pretending he didn’t know who I was.

β€œWhat are you talking about? You were at the grocery store you could have picked up the flour yourself.” I said as I Reached for my bags, my fingers feeling numb as I gripped the bag.

I slowly moved into the house dragging the bags with me.

I could hear his footsteps as he followed me sighing.

β€œI was never at the grocery store like I said I was dealing with the hose and I had practice to go to,” Blaine said as he entered the Kitchen putting down the bags he grabbed.

β€œYou were, I saw you myself you are walking around like a weirdo holding a piece of paper, we even talked… More like argued since you wanted to be annoying.” I said irritated.

β€œZaphira, I have no idea who you saw at the grocery store but it was not me, and why the heck why I be walking around with a piece of paper I have better memory than that.”

I said nothing as I went back to the front door grabbing the other bags on the ground.

β€œWhat and I’m lying? I know you were there I saw you myself, unless you have a twin who looks exactly like you then there is no way you weren’t at the grocery store.”

Blaine took a deep breath as he thought, his hand grazing over his neck, the same way he does when irritated.

β€œDo you think that if I had a twin, I would keep it from you? Do you not remember the jokes we played on the willows twins?”

I looked at him thoughtfully Blaine would say to the girls, like how if you came across your twin you would die, or ask the question which twin was the evil one.

β€œYou know they still hate you right?” I informed as I glared at him with a devious smile. As I closed the front door.

β€œYeah, but totally worth it, it wouldn’t be any different if I had my own twin except for I probably would get so much joy out of teasing the crap out of him,” Blaine said almost wishfully.

I looked at him as he smiled to himself imagining all the horrendous things he could say to his other half if he had one.

β€œAnd this is why the community would hate you,” I said as I got to the kitchen and dropped the food.

Blaine stopped laughing to himself as he looked at me with a semi-serious expression as he put his hands down.

β€œThe community of twins already have it out for me it wouldn’t be any different if I actually had a twin, they probably would find it more horrendous or something like that.”

β€œAnyway, so are you trying to tell me that you weren’t at the grocery store earlier? Because I know for a fact you were there… Except for the fact that you want to play stupid.” I said gritting my teeth.

He followed me into the kitchen then leaned against the wall folding his arms.

β€œPlaying stupid? What do you mean by playing stupid?” Blaine asked as he watched me rifled through pots and pans.

β€œAre you serious are you going to pretend you have no idea?” I asked as I looked up at him for a brief moment glaring at him.

β€œYeah, I’m going to because I have no idea what the hell you’re talking about.”

I squeezed the cupboard door tightly suppressing the urge to rip it off its hinges and fling it at his head.

β€œPretending you have no idea why you were at the grocery store, or pretending you have no idea who the hell I am, there is only one Blaine in this world unless you have a hidden twin even you don’t know about, I’m pretty sure that was you.”

Blaine looked at me for a moment, his expression serious as he looked intently in my direction.

β€œDo you hear yourself? Why would I be at a grocery store after asking you to go because I was busy, then magically show up to the grocery store from across town and pretend I have no idea who you are? Does that make any sense to you? Oh, and not to mention show up maybe a couple of minutes after you got home completely well aware of your existence.”

I looked at him gritting my teeth. What is he making fun of me? I thought getting more irritated.

β€œI don’t know why would you?” I finally asked

β€œFor Christ’s sake I was never at the grocery store Zaphira and I would never pretend I don’t know you or lie about going to the grocery store.”

I said nothing as I grabbed what I needed from the cupboards then slid over to a closet and disappeared. Moments later I came out holding flour in my hand as I moved towards the kitchen table.

β€œI never got her flour,” I said coldly as I pushed the flower towards him then turned around to proceed with grabbing ingredients.

β€œZaphira—”

β€œYou came here for the flour, right? Or was I wrong about that too?” I asked not turning around as I ran the water.

Blaine said nothing as he sighed, I could hear his footsteps coming close as he reached for the flower. For a moment I thought Blaine was going to say something but didn’t. I could hear his footsteps fading as he left the kitchen the door closing behind him as he left the house.

Son of a bitch! Who the fuck was that guy then if Blaine was not at the grocery store? I thought annoyed as I slammed the cutting board on the counter, the sound startling me.

Why the hell was there a duplicate of Blaine, to begin with? I thought as I tried to focus on cooking dinner.

Ugh… who was that guy if it wasn’t Blane? And why did he vanish was he even real? Maybe he was just my imagination.

I collapsed on my pillow, my chest sinking as I relaxed. I almost fell asleep when a voice spoke nearly sending me off my bed.

β€œWhat do you think you’re doing?” A familiar voice said annoyed. I bolted up to see Blaine staring directly at me as he stood by the wall his arms folded as he stared at me.

β€œSon of a bitch!” I said nearly falling off the bed. β€œWhat am I doing what the Fuck are you doing?” I snapped.

β€œWell, I was going to begin my studies when you’ve decided to plop down on my bed like it was your own,” Blaine said as he frowned.

His bed? What the hell is he even talking about his bed last I checked this was my house my room and my bed.

β€œI think you’ve got it mistaken this is my house you creep,” I said when my phone vibrated startling me.

β€œHey, I’m sorry about earlier I swear I was not at the grocery store I promise you that, I didn’t mean to get angry with you but it was hurting my feelings that you were accusing me of things I didn’t do. If you’re willing to forgive me swing by my house tomorrow after school, I have something for you.” Blaine texted.

I sighed as I put my phone down before turning towards the wall prepared to argue again with this strange Blaine look-alike.

What the heck! Where did that bastard go now? I thought irritated as I looked around the room, the wall completely blank. Screw this! I thought as I grabbed my phone and flipped on the flashlight looking for every light switch in the house and checking every corner.

β€œThere is no way this bastard can hide there is not enough hiding places,” I said under my breath as I stopped in front of the basement.

My heart sank as I stared at the wooden door dividing me from the dark cramped basement. β€œThere’s no way in hell I’m going down there,” I told myself as I turned my back to it. My heart beating frantically in my chest as I prayed, he wasn’t down there.

β€œI don’t want to go down there and find out he’s not there but… Hell if I’m going to let creepy guy hide down there.”

Fearfully I took a deep breath before opening the door slowly, the cold air chilling my legs and ankles, I gripped my phone as I stepped forward, beaming the light down the stairs as it revealed the dark wood of each step-in front of the light.
