Wolf

They had only arrived a few days ago at Hunters Forest where Wolf and Asema introduce Junior to his grandparents who were beyond excited to know he was safe.

The pack village celebrated along with them knowing some succession had taken place and there was a future to a happy ending. So, now they rested almost fully back in a ’normal’ society where some peace could happen.

Wolf was at the top floor of one of the outlook towers viewing the night scenery that was bestowed before him. The angle gave a clear view where the docks are and beach. He saw the waves calmly brushing up against the sand and Asema who stood there in the moonlight staring out at sea. She been standing there for a while now just watching, Wolf assumed looking at the horizon line of the sea.

Madam ordered least one more year of school, but Asema was allowed stay with the pack.

Through this time Wolf had been worried but curious about her for some time as he was debating about asking her something. He resisted at first but seeing her become so happy and now relaxed. It was now or never to make the move. Only next challenge is if she would accept knowing there would be madness between this and everyone questioning their choices. Least he hoped that was not the case.

He stood away from balconey and made his way down the latter letting them creak slightly under his weight. No one was really around at the moment, as most were doing the annual run around the forest. So, the village and house would be silent till midnight.

He exited onto the porch of the tower with the warm summer night wrapping around him to say ’hello’ but stopped short where Madam Mentor had begun climbing the stairs. She looked taken a back but soon recovered giving him a kind smile. Wolf side stepped inviting her to stand by him on the porch. She obliged and there they stood face to face with Wolf wondering why she was here.

“I have something for, you to give Asema… as I know what you will ask her in moments” She replied reading his mind.

Wolf swallowed, no one knew he was about to do, so how did she know? She does not predict future, she is maternal.

He shifted on his feet awkwardly and body went a little rigid. But he relaxed instantly as if either was imagining it or it was an illusion, but Madam silver eyes began to glow.

She held a fist before him, gesturing to drop something in his hand. He opened his hand to the fist and felt something light hit his palm as she opened her fist. Bringing her hands together resting at her thighs.

Wolf picked up the circular object between his fingers bringing it up to his eyes. Studying it.

The lights around did not give it justice but it was beautiful no matter what shined upon it.

On the top was a white oval shape with a golden symbol inside. A symbol that gave Wolf the feeling of hope and instant peace. It was shaped like a infinity sign but looked to have twinkling stars formed around it.

Wolf brought his attention back to Madam who was studying him.

“For Asema? Why?” he asked knowing it was a dumb question, least that is what he thought.

Madam only smiled, “Yes, it is symbol of power, of light, it goes along with her powers but gradually helps them grow stronger as times will come where she will only be half ready for what the future holds for her.” She shifted her focus down the path that leads to the sea. “Use it to ask the question, the one I known you want to ask since getting her back.”

Wolf enclosed his hands around the object feeling the material cold against his palm. “Why don’t you give it to her?” he asked already making his way slowly down the steps and Madam began to walk beside him still keeping herself stick.

“Because, this is a symbol that times have changed, and will keep changing. It is symbol of power, a power between both of you and what is to come for the future.” She replied.

They were near around the corner and slowed down as the sea was there. Asema standing in a different place now still watching the waves of the sea.

“Give it to her, and confess your love.” Madam whispered and left like she never existed beside him.

Wolf looked at the object he held in his hand and breathed; he took a step forward.

Asema must have instantly heard him as she turned around smiling towards him. He stood beside her joining to watch the calming of waves and slightly rustling of trees in the distance. Telling them the running of the pack was nearing to an end but not done.

“It is beautiful,” Asema said her gaze returning to the sea.

Wolf looked sideways at her, “Asema” he simply said.

She brought her beautiful red eyes to his golden green, searching for him to say another word.

“Yes?” after of moment of being silent.

“You know, you could live a life with me?” he asked her. Suddenly feeling like an idiot as they already made that decision but breathed.

She tilted her head and narrowed her eyes but a gestured of love. “Yes, of course I do. I love you”

Those were the words he wanted to hear. His heart began to beat like a drum but he did not shake. He could do this, “Would you be with me? Loving me? Marrying me?” he asked as all the questions came out.

Asema taken aback but Wolf opened his palm and showed the ring to her. A shock of gasp came out of her mouth and she covered hers ands over her mouth muffling her noise.

“We already have a son, but I wanted to marry you before, now that just a sweet topping.” He beamed a smile.

Her hands lower and she nodded, with a whisper of “yes, of course.”

They both placed took the ring and placed it on her right pointed finger. To that Asema narrowed her eyes, “Wouldn’t it go on my ring finger?”

Wolf laughed, just as some cool water splashed her ankles causing them both to gasp of the sudden coolness. They run a little bit higher on the sand and Wolf replied, “No, that only exists in human world. The reason why there is ring involved is because it a symbol of power and a changing future. It is our symbol. Madam gave it to me to give to you.”

She searches his eyes but smiled, “well in that case I love it” and leaned up to his lips. With the calmness of waves and moonlight casting some shadows against them.

Asema

It had been a long time since I was in the tunnel of blue swirls. Long time since I have seen Kadea.

I was spat out like a fish from the water tumbling hard against the stone. Why did I not get my footing considering my training? But soon I stopped facing a familiar figure who sat in her throne looking down at me. Her dressed like fabric floating around like mist along with her hair creating the illusion that she was something.

I laid there for a bit, but gathered myself, raising my body onto its two feet. Why had she called me and why was she looking furious to sad and worried.

“You feel peace?” Her voice hard, raised with power.

I swallowed and nodded. “Yes, for the first time I feel safe and peace.”

She gripped the edge of her stone armchair but nothing indicated how hard she was actually gripping on to it.

“Savour it while it lasts my child, this fight that you have, it is not over, you may have killed him but there is more to come.” Her voice was warning me, sending chills down my spine.

“What are you saying, what do you mean it is not truly over?” confusion riddled over me and I crinkled my eyebrows together.

“I worry, which is something a goddess does not do, but I must tell you in order to keep yourself safe and family.”

I clenched my jaw and held myself together preparing for the worse.

“Treat Madam as your paternal guardian with respect, ask her questions. As she is there you guide you, and help you to seek the truth of your paternal beings. Stay silent as your true nature will show in time.”

I swallowed and searched her words for what she was saying.

“Madam is a protection to you, she is your guardian parent but, you must be warned, everyone must protect you at whatever costs.”

“Wait what?” I took a step forward wanting reach out to her, “Why protect—”

I was thrusted back in the tunnel and was upright in dark room next to a warm body. Sheets wrapped around my skin as the body created heat against my own flesh.

What just happened? Why did I wake up?

I could not remember what I dreamt about but there was calmness of truth in it. A truth I could not remember as it felt it was for my own protection that I needed it.
