I knew he would hear that crash of the force field. It was loud enough to sound like thunder only with magic snowflakes falling from the sky.

Just within moments I heard clashing of windows, banging of doors and weapon upon weapons. The warriors were in and already fighting something to find Kieran and take him down.

I advanced forward but Wolf growled and trotted towards me wrapping himself around me letting me know that it was not safe yet. Besides the plan was we would go in last, which I completely forgot. I was annoyed but I knew he was right. But all I could think of was defeating Kieran for once and for all and hold Junior in my arms.

After a moment of silence, Wolf bumped me little bit to tell me that it was safe now to enter.

At that moment I was not sure if I was ready for this moment. A moment where I could not worry and have something so precious come back to me in my arms and be protected. A moment where I can finally see what type of parent I would actually become. A mother who kiss his fingers if he hurt them, a parent that shows no fear and willing to do anything to protect him. I breathed and stride forward with Wolf big paws hitting the ground heavy and his huffing of breath.

We walked around a corner where a warrior greeted us but still in protective stance. Though from the entrance I could still hear fighting.

Of course, how many tricks of defense did Kieran have up his sleeve.

I took off my bow, and got it ready into position while grabbing behind my back for an arrow to appear. I walked this time cautiously not knowing the dangers, with my arrow facing whatever would come to attack. Just needed to make sure I did not plunged it into one of the warriors.

Wolf and I walked into the house little more, with Wolf suddenly by my side, though surprisingly it was quiet but yet I could still hear the loud thundering of fighting to who knows what. It sounded like screeching but not humane. Creature like.

Then it happened, I thought I was preapred but not prepared for it, the pull of the darkness, it was leading me to him.

My feet started to quicken and turned into an almost run, but I had to make sure I was still walking slow enough that Wolf was able to catch up and remain by my side. Which would not be a problem for him consider he was ten times faster than I at the moment.

Asema, don’t let him control you” Wolf said from a distance till he could finally catch up to me he was now in his human form for whatever reason I did not know.

I looked to where he was and just a couple feet away with a sword ready to attack whoever might jump us.

We started to climb a staircase still ready to attack and defend. Reaching the second floor I saw dark creature bodies lying everywhere. It did not help much when the walls are glass and the moonlight is casting shadows turning the bodies into small silhouettes. The bodies of the horrid creatures, they gave off a stench that made me want to gag.

I took a moment and tried clearing my head. The smell was like sewage mixed with acid, it began to make me feel dizzy as my head was slightly spinning.

I kept moving forward scanning every direction with my arrow and ready to let go into case of any attack. That helped keep my focus away from the smell with only slight dizziness coming over me.

Breathing in and out slowly careful not to faint, I had to keep calm, but for some reason my heart started pounding faster and louder as I could feel the pull from Kieran getting stronger.

Causing me start to look in every direction to see where he would be coming from, I could sense he was here just did not know where.

The warriors I could still hear them in the distance fighting off those creatures. Though ironic part is that we were hiding in the shadows near the walls inside of the manor house of course. I would not be able to find him since he so good of being in darkness.

“I never really realized how much you missed me luv” The voice spoke. I whipped around to see wherever that voice came from, but I did not have time because soon as he spoke, there were more black bodies. No eyes and reminded me of death souls back from Sky High. Only difference was their skin shined with moonlight and the voice screeches at a high pitch noise they came out of the dark.

I let my arrow fly into their chest that instantly destroy them as they popped away like fireworks.

Wolf and Brock who must have just joined us began fighting with the clank of their blades thrusting away any creature that tried to jump them. Luckily, we were in excellent form defending ourselves and fighting back strong, as the creature slithered with their tongue of acid as if trying to get a taste of us.

“Asema, I am right behind you, just go get Junior,” Wolf yelled defending off a body that I could not identify.

Without thinking I sprung to Kieran who for some reason jumped through glass onto the baloney. Breaking the glass on purpose for some odd reason. But my heart dropped when I realized who he was carrying. Junior in his arms.

Junior looked like he was almost frozen and not knowing how to react. And as of any mother would do I jump out after them onto the balcony, and landed firm on the concrete of the ground. Looked up and to see Kieran facing me with Junior in his arms. Junior was struggling trying to pull away from Kieran, wanting to get to me as I was familiar to him. Giving me some hope that Kieran had not brainwashed him.

I did not waste time, but only for a second. I pulled my arrow and aimed for Kieran’s head. I know he needed to be arrest but the anger was built in me I had to kill him. I let the arrow fly but something happened which I could not explain. The arrow was in the air gradually making its way towards Kieran, but not really. It was not frozen, just moving slowly as if time had stopped between him and I.

I tried moving but I was stuck in my firing position of the arrow. I looked down to my feet confused, I brought my gaze up to Kieran who was now standing by himself as my child disappeared had disappeared. As he if was never was with Kieran in the first place. Was this all a illusion?

“I knew you could not resist letting everything go and coming after your boy.” Kieran snickered walking slowly towards me. It then dawned on me, My child was ruse, bait for me. Tearing me away from the group.

I tried moving again but nothing, I was frozen the bow was still placed firmly in my hand and string was still bent back near my face.

“By the way nice reaction time… usually people love to talk, but you, you just went for it and if you would have realized just taking a second,” he allowed the words to soak in my brain “Wolf already has the boy and now coming to get you,” Kieran said coming closer, and snapped his fingers.

Suddenly, I was in vision or space where I could see Wolf grabbing Junior, leaving him with the warriors then running to me, but he stopped now in mid length of running, frozen like me. As were the other warriors and creatures that laid there. Time has stop for all of us, they were conscious of it but frozen itching to move their limbs but couldn’t. Only Kieran remained unfrozen.

I was brought back into a whirlwind of the present stage where Kieran was now approaching me. His ice cold and heat radiated off him.

“You see, I have mastered some powers which you seemed to look away from,” he was casually walking gesturing his hands in a all know-it-all. He came closer enough I could see Kieran eyes now, they are daunting me. Telling me I failed because of my actions and emotions.

Kieran was behind me and placing his hand on my side. I could feel his breathe coming closer to my ear. Frozen shivers lingered up my spine. I wanted to scream in pain.

“You know life would not have to be this hard if you just stayed with me… you could have been a queen of the world with me” Kieran spoke softly.

How could I get out of this mess? I was frozen. “A life with me, no half breed children, pure children who are strong. A life of greatness,” Kieran spoke as if it was dream fantasy he wanted. How did he manage to freeze time and yet have me conscious, how many tricks did he have up his sleeve that I did not know about?

“You wouldn’t be weak under my control but so much more than some Immortal who possesses light.”

Then was my turn to talk, as I found my lips were able to move, “How did you know I was the Light?”

“I did not know, you just had a allure to yourself I could not resist,” he whispered but moved to stand in front of me. His eyes were showing pure evil, and lust. There was no affection in them. “At first I wasn’t sure because it didn’t radiate from you, but went you fulfilled a prophecy a crack began to creep open.” He laughed to himself.

“You can be so much more with me, know who you are truly,” cocking his head to the side gazing upon my body to my eyes. “By not finding out by questions or books, but having the exact answer…as I feel you know now, you are yearning to know who you are truly.”

I moved my gaze to the arrow which was not even at the halfway point but it looks as if it was moving. I made eye contact with Kieran again and realized something which I should have thought of sooner.

I am the light, of course things are not actually frozen…

“I will take my chances; besides you can twist words of truth.” I retorted.

I started to thinking of Kadea.

Kieran only smirked, “Yes true, but even though tactics physically hurt me, I want you to know the truth. I want to you to be with me,” he reached out touching my face and embracing it, the hot flash throbbed against my cheek to the after touch of cool ice sending more shivers down my skin. But the warmth of Kadea came, it was piercing through the coldness of the frozen time.

I could start to feel again and almost move. Which may have shocked Kieran for a moment though the arrow was already gone, and I do not think I would have enough time to pull another one. Though the thing for me to focus on was freedom again and being able to move. I could start to hear the warriors thundering my way ready to attack again. As my power must had freed them as well.

Kieran looked confused at me and for a split second he looked up to the balcony where the warriors might come, as their thunderous footsteps began to echoing throughout the house. Along with their shouts to find Kieran. Giving me the advantage and time to reach for my thigh dagger. To now I am so grateful for.

I grabbed it and plunged it hard into Kieran’s chest that may have struck his heart. This took him definitely by surprise, he never expected it.

“Yes, I do not take time to talk” I spoke plunging the knife even harder into Kieran chest, dark blood began to bleed through his shirt, he began gasping in pain.

“Because seems like talking is better for when the person is dying and it is the last words they would ever hear.” I sneered, and kicked Kieran to the ground who was slowly fading like ash blowing away in the wind.

“W...hh...y..” He struggled saying.

“Remember what you told me…” I waited a few second till he was almost half gone, “remember no mercy” I smiled and watched as he turns to dust and floated away in the air. He was finally gone and had vanished into the night sky.

I was a free woman from that monster.

Wolf arrived seeing Kieran go into the last bit of mist that was floating into the night moon sky letting the moon shine on us.

“He is finished” I spoke in a cheerful way.

“I see,” Wolf spoke and touched my arm. I did not wretch away, rather I fell into his arms and embraced his warm touch. This man is all I need, and that darkness of Kieran would be free of me. I no longer had to fear being outside of the barriers I was free to live a life of comfort and not worry about being jumped by Kieran or his men. I was free from torture and pains of what might happen to me every day. I hoped I would now be free from nightmares and thinking that Kieran would try overcoming me. I was free to live a life.

Pulling away from Wolf and looking at his relaxed green golden eyes and smiled.

“You killed him?” Brock voice came out of the distance.

I looked up to him and smiled again. “Yes, it has been long overdue”.

Brock stayed silent, choosing whether to give a lecture or allow this. Eventually he huffed a breath, “I understand, no person should endure knowing their monster is alive especially from the pain they suffered. But knowing their monster will take punishment for their own actions is fulfillment enough. Knowing they are paying for their consequences.”

I allow his words to sink into me, he had a point, but now at the moment I did not care, I rid Kieran of this world.

“I don’t care, he is gone and I feel peace” I replied.

Brock stared “Peace you may feel now, but justice and understanding of who people are gives a fulfillment better than killing,” He then sidestepped allowing a tiny little blonde boy to speed into my arms. A tear began down my cheek as I wrapped my arms around my son.

I felt peace, and now I feel joy, nothing can stop this.
