Chapter 6

Autumn had gone leaving behind heavy snowfalls and colder days. Every time I woke up, I would cast my focus outside and see the pond that almost looked like a frozen lake. Telling me the weather was harshly cold but once movement happened warmth would come.

This particular morning, I sat on the edge of my bed leaning forward analyzing the ice and slippery cobblestones outside.

It practically looked like winter wonderland out there almost untouchable. Heaps of snow covered some pine trees along with others that looked they glazed with powdered sugar. The ice of the water was striking blue yet coated with reflective white.

I stood stretching and quickly dressed myself, to soon finding my way to his office. There he sat looking down at papers.

He must have heard me since his eyes met mine. His raised his eyebrows waiting for my words.

“Outside looks nice, am I allowed out?” I felt weird asking, felt like I was child awaiting permission on anything.

He slouched back in his chair and smiled, “Today is free day, go enjoy the ice” he smiled and I gone.

I raced back to my room and went straight to my closet, threw open the door and sped into the walk-in closet and threw every open drawer that was possibly in there. I wouldn’t stop until I found those skates.

I almost ended up turning the closet room upside down. Eventually I found them and I was filled with joy. I finally had freedom to go out and enjoy the cold crisp weather with the snowflakes brushing against my cheeks.

I grabbed the skates and rushed down the hall and passing Kieran’s office and caught a glimpse of him looking over some papers again.

I continued, bursting through the front doors, as they been opened for me. I felt that blast of sharp cold air scratching my face. Smiling, I rushed over to the pond that was down the patio backyard.

Started forward coming to one of the wooden benches sitting down then started putting on the skates. I was lucky the skates fit me perfectly. I sat up and hustled over to the ice, it felt weird to be in skates again.

Now at the edge of the ice and it was now the moment of truth. I took my first step on the ice and almost did the splits yet somehow kept my balance.

First glide and I slid forward and just with that it felt like I was back on the ice and comfortable about what I was doing. I started to skate around the pond. Swerving around a bit here and there. I never felt so free and happy to skate and be outside. Breathing fresh air.

Extending my arms out and let myself feel like I was soaring like an eagle. It felt like freedom, but truly it couldn’t be freedom.

A moment later out of nowhere a voice spoke and touching my shoulder making me jump and hit them. They were fast too and able to stop me . I turned around fully to what I thought was Kieran and give him a piece of my mind about letting me have some freedom for a short moment. But when I saw his face with those green golden eyes I was speechless.

Wolf.

I looked at him in complete awe, how was it even possible for him to even be here, it did not make any sense.

All I really did was look at him, as hel stared down at me in complete amazement. We just gazed into each other’s eyes, it was moment of warmth and safety. Felt like true happiness that didn’t need to be achieved rather just came.

Looking into his beautiful emerald eyes, I felt pure joy which I have not felt in a long time since with Kieran. Eventually I realized one of us had to say something.

“Wolf,” That was all I could manage since as the moment I was lost for words.

He kept looking at me as well and smiled like he was happy and I could see him.

“Asema… you need to know how much time I have left with you, and I need to tell you something very important” he said to fast slurring his words.

I was baffled, wasn’t he here to rescue me and not tell me something about whatever important info it was.

“Wolf,” I said again him bringing myself towards him. I wanted him to hold me and just be with me so badly. “Take me away from this hell hole, get me to safety and kill that bastard” I demanded, tears started to form.

Wolf looked down on me with sadness, it was like if he was able to he would have done it already.

He pulled me tight into a bear hug, except it didn’t feel like him though now that I had time to adjust to the shock. I mean I felt him but not fully and it like he almost wasn’t real.

He let go of me and backed up enough for me to see him from head to toe. I was shocked. It was like I was seeing an illusion of him or something though could feel him.

“Wolf, what an earth is going on?” I asked frightened.

He gave a sad smile but slid back to me.

“Asema, I do not know where you are but I need a huge favour and I know you can do it.” He said staring down at me and searching my face.

I kept listening.

“I have my fathers Lycan pack and some of Kadea Warriors at a camp base somewhere” my heart started to leap for joy, he was coming.

“Listen this is very serious… I need you to chart for me specific stars that only Lycans can see tonight and come back to the ice and tell me what you see” he demanded, breathing a heavy sigh.

“Wolf, I am a Immortal, we established that a while ago how could I possibly see like a Lycan” I stated as I thinking of the plan he gave me.

He smiled and brought me in close letting our faces inches apart.

“Asema, how do you think I found you” he asked, smirking like he knew something I didn’t.

He had a good point; you can’t really track someone without having something of theirs as I learned back when attending Sky High.

“Wolf, I do not have anything that belongs to you” I said getting confused.

Smiling and planting a kiss on my forehead.

“Asema think again… though I know it’s not the best way to find out” he said quietly which was almost drowned out by the cold wind.

I thought for a moment, what on earth was he referring to? I didn’t have anything not even his saliva would have stayed that long. I had no idea what he was talking about.

I gave a puzzlement look shaking my head in wonder.

He sighs placing his forehead against mine.

“You are pregnant.”
