Amy & Danny's First Meeting

Amy’s POV

Dark curtains welcomed me and I closed my eyes again. Asylum cell wasn’t the nice place to sleep when it was freezing December and the whole place was cold. When I opened my eyes again curious green eyes welcomed me.

“Not a morning person?" My cellmate asked and I shrugged. It’s not like I had school or something. Thinking of school made me snort. I was really a weird person. When I was rotting in a cell, I was thinking of school like a normal person.

“Me too. But today is exceptional.” She told me and that got my attention. I jumped from the bed and took a seat next to her. In these months we have become pretty close I guess. Or maybe it was the fact that she knew I was a reaper but still stayed beside me?

“What’s special today?" I asked her and she halfheartedly smiled. This girl surprisingly wasn’t like the other nuts staying here. One look at them and you’ll want to run from here. But luckily I found someone to get rid of boredom.

“Someone’s going to meet me in here...after five months.” She told me and I did a double take. Is it really been that long?

“Boyfriend?" I guessed but she shook her head.

“No, but I had a fiancé though.” She huffed and I frowned. Why would be she’s here when she had a fiancé waiting for her outside?

“What did you exactly do? I mean to end up in here.” I asked her and she laughed but it was humorless. I couldn’t believe I didn’t ask her these normal questions in these five long months. I was a real idiot. I didn’t even know her name!

“My fiancé turned out to be a hellhound in my wedding night. Now you tell me how to describe that to normal people?” She bluntly asked me and I immediately understood. Nobody believed me too when I said that I saw Zach, my dead boyfriend trying to kill me.

“So, it was after the wedding or before?" I asked while playing with the hem of my shirt.

“Obviously before. But then it was too much dangerous for me to live in the same place. I did...some not rational things to people so I was kind of rebellious I guess. So to seal off this world we know it was better to lock me up somewhere no one will dare to look. But today he is...” She trailed off and I nodded. That was acceptable. So she was here for protection.

“So who’s it then?" I asked her and as a cue, the heavy metal door cracked open.

“Iva!” A loud voice boomed through the room and I visibly flinched. Geez...could’ve ruined my eardrums but wait what!? Who the hell is Iva?

“Ah...there you are.” The voice was now more steady and when my eyes found the source of the person I froze. That person looked extract copy of the person sitting next to me except...he had the brightest golden colored eyes, black hair and he’s a little taller. But is that mean...?

“I missed you.” As soon as the person reached us...well reached my cellmate he hugged her tightly as if afraid of letting go. Seeing this I didn’t know why but jealousy kicked in. I had no one who could hug me like that or love me...I was left alone to rot in this cell.

As if noticing my dumbfounded expression my cellmate or Iva as I guessed broke free of him. He did a sad sigh and lifted a brow.

“Hey, where are your manners?" She scolded him and he just stared like he didn’t know he just ignored a person, ME, in front of him.

“Eh...I always hug you like this?" He tried and if I wasn’t annoyed before I was furious now.

“Stupid, I was talking about her.” I heard her say as I was already going to my side of the room. There was no point of butting in other person’s business.

“Who? That mental? Who cares about them Iva? Don’t tell me you already became one while pretending.” He scrawled and I couldn’t help but walk straight in front of him. Maybe I calculated wrong cause suddenly I was too close, my eyes burning into him.

“Who the hell are you telling nuts, mister?" I hissed and to my dismay, he didn’t back out, he looked shocked, yes, but brushing them off he stood more closely that I could feel his breath or the pure hate coming from him.

“Denial, aren’t we? That’s what the first thing a mental patient say, I’m not crazy! So what do you do? Killed your family or...saw ghosts? Or maybe nobody liked you so you ended up in here?” He mocked and that’s what made me loose control.

For the first time I was happy to call my force to take a soul. I admit I felt a little guilty as Iva knows this guy but I didn’t think I ever hated someone at that moment, not even Zach. The familiar feelings overcame me and I smugly looked at him as he struggled to breathe but surprisingly the amount of force I used he should be possibly dead by now.

Why isn’t this working!?

“Enough, you two!” Someone yelled as my trance broke. With a huff, I saw that Iva was now between us and shooting daggers at the guy.

“What the hell was that!?” He exclaimed and I smirked. Take all your time to figure out what I am.

“I’m so sorry Amy. I didn’t know he was still a jerk!” She apologized and I just nodded. But my body had another idea obviously. My leg felt like giving up so I suddenly slumped to the floor and Iva looked at me worriedly.

“Are you OK?" She asked me and I nodded again. When she looked like she’s going to argue I blurted out, "Too much power.”

“I see. You get out. And you sit here.” She yelled at the guy to which he looked at her disbelieving.

“Unbelievable. Are you kicking me out? I came here to come up with a plan to get you out of here and you just...What the hell is she!?" He snapped pointing a finger at me and besides my condition, I was glad to see him riled up. It gave me a different thrill.

“Reaper, ever heard of them?" I muttered and in a second his eyes were filled with cold rage.

“Are you insane, Iva!? You are befriending a reaper!?” He looked at my head to toe in disgust and I looked away. His gaze reminded me of Zach. I didn’t need another Zach in my life.

"You obviously don’t know anything about her. Please leave today and I’ll discuss everything with you...later.” She offered and he eyed me carefully.

“I know about her Iva. Amelia Gill is pretty famous for her...murderous skills.” He exclaimed and I froze again. How did he know about me? But before I could question him he was out of the room in a flush.

“I’m sorry again, Amy. He just doesn’t trust anyone after the hellhound accident. He was the one found out that my fiancé is a hellhound. After that, he became a little jerkish...I guess?” She said and I laughed. He was a real jerk.

“So Iva, hmm?" I grinned and she nodded.

“And that was my brother Danny.” She introduced me my hater and I snorted.

What a douchebag.

“Amy...even if he acted like a jerk, he’s still likable.” I wanted to laugh at her choice of words but held in.

“Whatever you are indiceting Iva, it’s never going to happen, ever.” I told her sternly and I wanted to believe that as long as I lived.

Or better yet survived.
