Amy’s POV

“What the heck was that for!?” Danny yelled out as soon as my hand connected with his jaw. Ironically that reminded me the days I had spent with him in that asylum.

Flashbacks

“What the heck was that for!? I yelled with frustration and grubbed the nearest lamp to end its life.

“Amy...can you please calm down for a second and tell me what happened?” Asked the green-eyed blonde sitting next to me.

“Oh, what happened? Is your brother always like this? Kissing mental girls for his own pleasure?” I screamed at the girl who looked at me wide-eyed and shook her head constantly.

“He kissed someone? Here?″ She asked me hesitantly.

“Yeah and not just anyone. ME! That bastard just grubbed and kissed me! Can you imagine?” I said with annoyance.

“Danny kissed you. But...It’s just...so out of his character. We thought he was gay or a virgin?” She said with that tiny voice of her and I choked.

“Please...I think just the way he kissed me it screamed experienced!” I said with double confidence.

“So you liked it...” She grinned and I did the gagging sound. I liked it a lot but I wasn’t gonna admit it aloud. It’s been a long time that I’ve been kissed that was exactly why I might’ve felt the need to kiss him again.

“Please...heck no!” I said too early and when a coughing sound made its way I spun and there stood the devil waiting at the door looking straight at me.

“Can I talk to you for a second?″ He asked but his face spoke clearly if I say no, I was going to regret it. Then again, I had to talk to him too. He just can’t kiss me and leave without saying a word.

“OK...I’ll just hear him out.” I gave Iva an assuring smile and walked on my death. Once we reached the roof where the stuff didn’t come at often, he stopped me.

“What is all this about?” I asked him ignoring his eyes. His golden irises were sending glares down at me but I refused to acknowledge him.

“It was a mistake.” He blurted out and I felt a pang going straight in my heart.

“What?” I whispered horrified.

Isn’t this what I wanted? Saying it a mistake and move on? Then why am I feeling like this? Why my heart’s beating like it’s my last breath?

“Kissing you. It was a grave mistake from my side. I don’t usually want to kiss the people I hate and right now I have made that mistake. So don’t take it to the heart and forget I ever kissed you. I’m just here to take back my sister and for your help, I’m taking you out too with us. Our deal just ends there. No feelings or string attached so if you feel that there was a reason for that kiss it was just a moment of weakness, nothing else.” He finished and I was too stunned to answer. With every word he made me remember why I was right to stay away from people.

I knew I also hated him but deep inside I knew there was something else. It was my fear that like Zach he’ll disappoint me too. And He was too coward to express his feelings... I felt emotions through the kiss and it wasn’t definitely hated.

And, for the first time, he made me feel like the monster I really am.

So out of frustration and sad or maybe madness I slapped him...hard.

“What the heck was that for!?” He yelled out.

Present

“It was for your stupidity, you idiot!” I screamed at his face while he’s rubbing his jaw. I could’ve yelled more when I finally noticed his eyes. They were vibrant hazel. Not the golden ones I often dreamt about.

What the hell?

“What happened to your eyes?” I semi-muttered giving him a glare. He better not change his eyes via spells!

“My what-oh...” He stopped to roll his eyes at me. “It’s contact lens. Ever heard of them?”

I sighed inwardly. There was no point asking why he was using contact lenses. Either he will give me a half-assed reply or say nothing at all.

“It wasn’t my fault you summoned me in this...what is this place anyway?” He asked finally noticing we were in dark...limbo.

“It’s limbo.” Mom finally talked while looking back the both of us. She gave me an eyebrow to give her a farther elaboration. I almost forgot she or me didn’t expect anyone to be summoned to our little strength spell.

“Mom this is Danny and he-” I started but she cut me off.

“He’s the Seeker, right?” She stated flatly and I frowned.

“Yes. But why are you giving me a glare?” I asked her out of curiosity.

“Um...Because I’m a Reaper, remember? We’re supposed to hate each other not the other way around. But clearly, you’re mangling around a seeker for too many times to care.” She said with a glare but it angered me. Where was she when I was suffering in an asylum or Zach was torturing me? She had no right to tell me who I befriended cause she was never in my life. But again before I accused her of blindly telling me off Danny beats me to it.

“That’s why I felt the pull... I didn’t know it was that hate pull.” He scrunched his face and looked at me with slight wonder. “But I didn’t feel that pull with Amy.” He finally said and grinned. I’m pretty sure he didn’t even realize that he was grinning. Should I be feeling happy or sacred? Cause last time we didn’t part ways exactly in good terms. And I had my doubts.

“Anyway...we need to get out of this limbo and you’ve made it too much risk for us.” Mom said again while giving him an eye.

“Yes...I totally forgot. We need to get out of here and-” I wanted to say more but I stopped. Our next mission was to take a soul to feel much stronger but as Danny was near me my hunger died. It was a different kind of hunger that we only felt when we were near. I knew he felt that too. But for mom, it was another history. If we want to take down Sage she’ll need soul and Danny won’t let her cause it’ll be bothering him for the seeker thing.

So I’ve two choices:

1. I let her take a soul in front of him and start a war between us, or

2. I take Danny with me and clear the path so mom can take as much soul she can.

I debated with myself and after a long thought, I came to my terms. I’m taking option two obviously. The next thing I needed was to start a war between ourselves. Therefore, I hugged her again and whispered the plan in her ears so that Danny couldn’t catch what was our plan. She gave me an unsure glance but nodded anyway.

“So Mr. Harrison...we’re repeating the history,” I said and started to tag him along.

“What...what history?” He asked with confusion while trying to keep up with me.

“We’re escaping this limbo...just like we did with the asylum,” I stated and this time we both grinned.
