Alec had already told Vincent to bring backup besides notifying Evan. They should be there any minute now. Sure enough, another wave of reinforcements arrived, but they were neither Alec's men nor anyone else's there. When police sirens followed them, everyone froze in sheer shock.

Zeke would've handled the police accordingly if he'd planned to kill Alec today, so they wouldn't have come even if someone had called for them, nor if they'd heard the hundreds of gunshots. Yet right now, with the large police force at their doorstep, it was evident they'd come prepared for the gunfight.

Alec swiftly tossed away his handguns, even removing his prints from them.

Evan's mouth twitched, annoyed, but he did the same. He then had his men disperse before the police barged into the premises.

Luckily for them, Luke and his men were still recovering from the shock. Hence, they didn't escape first thing. That, or they assumed the police wouldn't do anything to them. Just as they were aiming for Alec, the police came and surrounded them.

"Put your weapons down!" A police officer barked out, gun pointing right at Luke's chest.

Luke blinked, confused. Did the police not know who he was? How dare they speak to him like this? "I'm the Faust family's-"

Before he could finish, Zeke marched out of his little hideout, to everyone's surprise.

Just as Luke thought his grandfather might be there to help placate the police, the old man went to give him a tight slap across the cheek. Luke was left reeling from the pain and shock, now more confused than ever.

"Lousy brat!" Zeke cried angrily.

"Grandad, I-"

"Shut the hell up!" Zeke growled out before Luke could say anything else. He then turned to the police officer.

The officer before Luke was none other than the new Deputy Commissioner of Police of Bardoff City, Leonard Sullivan. He didn't have strong ties to any of the families in Bardoff City, so he wouldn't hesitate to bring down the law on anyone who committed a crime, rich or not.

Zeke never expected him to be there. In fact, he'd informed Leonard's superior of his intentions today.

"My grandson is responsible for this, Mr. Sullivan. He's held a bitter grudge against his cousin Alec ever since his father passed. That's why he organized this 'event' today. It was my fault for not stopping him from going this far," Zeke sighed, playing the victim.

Luke's eyes grew to the size of saucers upon hearing that.

How was he responsible for all this??

He'd only been listening to his grandfather's orders!

Luke wanted to say the same, but Zeke's butler quickly shot him a stern look, shutting him up once again. If he spoke up now, he'd put their entire family at risk.

Leonard knew who Zeke was but still didn't care. "We'll see who's telling the truth after our investigation."

No one there was going to escape under his watch. He thought it was time those pompous Bardoff pigs got what was coming to them.
