Kimberly's POV

Upon regaining consciousness, I immediately darted toward the front door with urgency. They were hot on my heels, sensing the same urgency. Without hesitation, I flung open the door and was taken aback by what lay before me.

Although this war differed from my previous encounter, it was still a war. Blood and fallen warriors were displayed everywhere, it was so much blood. I gagged but recovered quickly I needed to make sure to save who I could and fast.

Despite the changes in events, some things remained constant, such as the presence of Austin and his partner, Stacy. They were still facing issues and being overwhelmed. However, it appears Max's father was now in a fight, and his mother was assisting.

Since I already made sure Zach and his sister were safe. My first thought was to shift into my wolf and assist Austin the best way I could because I remember the unfortunate events in the alternate timeline.

As I neared, I allowed the warmth to consume me, and I transformed into my wolf form. Austin sprang into action, catching the warrior off guard, who was attempting to overpower him with sheer numbers.

As we fought, I sensed his need for assistance, and together we began to gain the upper hand. However, I struggled to keep track of his partner, Stacey, and as I turned to look for her, I witnessed something unspeakable.

The same wolf from the AT that killed her had her neck in between his jaws, he looked at us as we stopped in shock. He knew he couldn't win, but he wanted to at least deal I good blow to us.

I knew this as tears ran down my face and I got really angry, he bit down and snapped her neck. As her body went limp me and Austin howled in pain. We attacked him together finishing him in seconds.

I broke his leg while pushing him on his side, while Austin grabbed his neck. The wolf didn't whine he kept his cool knowing death was coming soon. I mind-linked Austin to wait and I ripped open his insides with my claws. Once I did that I got a reaction out of him.

He howled the same way we did a second ago for Stacy, then as a true Luna I gave Austin the command to kill him, and Austin did it. He ripped his head off. It was gruesome, but needed to be done to heal.

While surveying our surroundings, I momentarily lost track of my task. However, I quickly reminded myself that I needed to keep an eye on Zach and ensure Max's dad did not get hurt more than he already did.

Upon seeing them, I observed that Max's Dad appeared to be holding up better than before with the help of his wife, but she didn't seem to be doing as well. I searched for Maxine and Justin, but they appeared to manage fine. Finally, I spotted Max and saw that he was struggling against something.

I was surprised to see Max fighting someone in human form, and I couldn't help but wonder who would be so reckless to fight like that unless they were trained.

However, my curiosity was quickly answered when I saw that it was Jen he was fighting with. It was clear that they were in a heated battle, and it seemed like Max was putting up a fight to the death against his ex-girlfriend.

I am confused by the sudden events, and I wonder if they have changed me. In an alternate timeline, I remember her dealing a deadly blow to Zack. So, why is she fighting Max now?

But then again, Max's father has more support than before, which could be why things are changing so quickly. I must figure out whether I will save my mate or leave it to Max's experienced parents.

Surely they can hold their own?

I spoke too soon. The next thing I knew, it was deadly how they came in bellows through the woods. It kind of surprised me, and as I looked over, I saw that Saint had somebody else near him in human form.

It looked like they had the same wolfs bane dipped knife that Jen had, and they struck Max's mother in her side the same way they did Zach and twisted it, and that's her body went limp. I can tell Max's dad let his wolf fully take control at that point.

Even though the tables were turning, I could tell this was The Beginning After The End, it let me know that things were changing, and they were changing fast. Max dad attacked uncontrollably, I could tell Saint will surely die soon, but what about that other human form, a wolf walking around? I don't know if Max's dad will survive this encounter.

There are too many unknown variables in this equation, leaving me unsure of what to do. I don't believe Max can act alone in killing jen, just as I wouldn't be able to defeat Zach in a fight to the death. After a few moments of consideration, I've concluded that I must help my Mate or risk him doing something foolish and hurting himself.

I have already saved Zach once, and I trust that he wouldn't harm himself. It would be a shame to see all our hard work go to waste because of his recklessness.

As I made it to max he was in full battle against jen, as I was finally understanding how good of a warrior she was. It made me mad because this is what I wanted to be for Max.

An equal, an asset not a liability.

I've decided I will deal the final blow, she will die by my hand. She must pay what she owe, In Błood.

She was on top of his back knife in hand, and I could here her say something to him quietly.

"I'm sorry baby, but you threw me away and Saint made me whole again. This isn't personal just a little retribution." She giggled and smiled a sickly evil one.

I jumped up and bit her knife wielding hand, ripping it clean off. She screamed losing her balance and falling.

When she fell she started pleading, we double teamed her and ended her quickly. As her head rolled from her shredded body, we hear a bloodcurdling scream.

It was like everything was moving in slow motion, one second I'm ripping into my enemy and next I'm watching another unpleasant death in front of me.

I look for Zach first, I see that he is fighting the knife wielder and he is getting cut up but he's fighting hard and strong. He's being reckless but he is moving smart going for him rather than Saint.

The hate Max Sr must have for him right now is unyielding, I wouldn't want to get involved with that as well. The one who screamed was Lynn, she raised her hands and a invisible force surrounded all of us.

Next thing I knew Zach fell, weak from the poison. That person left him alone and ran towards Max Sr, he was holding his own but a two on one right now will kill him.

Suddenly he teleported towards them leaving a smoky trail. He was suddenly beside Max Sr, he was about to stab him.

Whoosh

Maxine was there in a second, she was in between them both. She started smoking and lit aflame, just as he was about to stab her dad. He dropped the knife into his other hand so smoothly and stabbed Max sr in his neck.

With a twist he was bleeding out profusely, choking on his blood he fell limp and the mysterious man teleported with half his body on fire along with Saint before disappearing into the smoke.

We were left shocked and hurt. We all howled in pain knowing this was just The Beginning After The End.

I changed the future, but at what cost. Who's gonna lead The Midnight Moon Pack now?.........

Sigh, The Beginning After The End. How will the pack adjust to the fact there alpha and Luna as died ? Kim and max is going to have to step up, will Maxine just up and leave again ? Third book should be started this weekend 😤 1500 words just know I love y'all 🤞🏽
