Amanda felt her heart breaking into pieces.

After Elias hung up the call, he appeared displeased, but he had no choice but to leave. However, his son was still on a drip in the ward.

Just then, Elmer coughed and reminded him by saying, "Miss Allegra must have something important to tell you, Mr. Winters, so you'd better not let her wait. She has been the center of attention since a young age, and she mustn't suffer any grievances."

"It's none of your business!" Amanda shook him off.

In actuality, Elias was just concerned about her because he saw that the woman's ankles were swollen. However, Amanda felt that he was mocking her for being a terrible mother who couldn't even take care of her child.

Just as Elias was ready to speak, his phone rang again. It was Stephanie.

He could hardly suppress his fury anymore. After connecting the call, he spoke in an impatient tone, ignoring the fact that Elmer was still around.

"What on earth do you want?"

Elmer was shocked by the man's voice.

Why is he so fierce? Do I have to report it to Mr. Allegra? However, it's only natural that a couple would bicker with each other from time to time. I guess Miss Allegra must have found her true love this time. She's even willing to put up with his bad temper.

Elias stared at the door for a moment before turning around to leave, bringing a sense of ferocity with him.

Elmer followed him without having the guts to say anything. He even tried to lower the volume of his breathing.

Meanwhile, Amanda stood in front of the bed and glanced at her son while the latter was on a drip. As she recalled how Elias prioritized Stephanie earlier, she felt disappointed.

While feeling despondent, she closed her eyes and tried to remove all the memories of Elias from her mind, but she was unable to do that.

That jerk is going to get married, so he wants to send Aiden and me abroad. What right does he have to decide where we should go? I'm not going anywhere!

Her tears slid down from her eyes.

In the parking lot outside the hospital, Elias entered the car with fury. Elmer followed him and remained silent the entire time.

Just then, he received a message from Jack telling him to ask Elias about something. "Mr. Winters..."

A displeased Elias snapped. "Call Stephanie and ask her where she is!"

He sounded like he was ordering a dog to do something.

Elmer shuddered and wondered if this man would get along well with Stephanie. Since when did Miss Allegra become a mild-tempered person?

"Yes..."

Stephanie had been confined to Allegra Villa. Earlier on, she received a call from Crispin saying that her father was about to send him somewhere else.

She was so anxious that she was on the brink of tears.

Even if she couldn't get together with Crispin, she didn't have the right to change his life.

Crisp is such a kind-hearted guy. I can't let his future get destroyed because of me!

"Please eat something, Miss Allegra. You haven't eaten anything for the entire day. Just now, Mr. Allegra gave us a call and said that if you still refuse to eat, he'll deduct a year's worth of our salaries. Please do us a favor." The butler kept knocking on her door from the outside. He was on the brink of falling to his knees to beg Stephanie.

Meanwhile, Stephanie was sobbing in her room, ignoring how the butler and servants kept begging her to eat something.

Suddenly, a man's masculine voice sounded from the outside. "Open the door. It's me."

Upon hearing Elias' voice, Stephanie turned to look at the door, and her eyes brightened.

She dashed toward the door and opened it to see Elias standing outside. At that moment, she had the urge to hug him, for the man was no different from a savior to her.

Before she knew it, she wrapped her arms around the man's towering figure.

The servants were dumbfounded, not expecting Stephanie to be so proactive. They believed that the woman was loyal to Crispin, so they were surprised to see her falling in love with someone else. Nevertheless, Stephanie couldn't be blamed for it; Elias was indeed a brilliant man.

An annoyed Elias pushed the woman away. "What on earth do you need from me?"

When Stephanie saw the butler and servants looking at them with prying eyes, she pulled the man into the room and closed the door.

"What's wrong with you? Why did you make me come here?" The man sported a dark expression, seemingly not wanting to stay there for another second.

An apprehensive Stephanie explained, "I want you to help me find out where Crisp is. I think my dad has hidden Crisp somewhere. He won't release him until the engagement party is over."
