“Lucius”

“Elena”

“We as Therealts and your new rulers welcome your pack to this fine celebration,”

“That’s just it, your not rulers,” he says in a matter of fact tone,” you see, to be rulers you need every pledge from every pack and if one pack does not pledge then you cant be rulers. I did my research”.

“All packs have pledged to us Lucius,” he hears Genhji’s snicker and he smiles lightly,” no, my pack hasn’t and will never pledge to you”.

“But Lucius darling,” she laughs turning to her mate who has a smug look on his face that he so wants to punch off but keep his cool,” you’re not a pack, you are a pack of rouges though”.

“But Elena sweetheart,” he turns to Genji in a mocking matter the same she had done to Alexander, to see Genhji wearing a smug look herself.

“We are,” he turns to the council,” according to the council we are, aren’t we?”.

Elena turns to the council with a questioning look on her face and he smiles seeing how councilman Alfonso nods. “You see Elena,” he grabs her attention before gesturing to his pack, “we are the FantomHide Furs, but we mostly go by fantoms. We just let people think we’re routes because it keeps them out of our business and it’s great for installing fear in the enemy”.

“And now I will tell you why my pack won’t pledge to this pathetic child”, the statement was followed by growls from the pup and his parent but he didnt care and waved them off.

He walked up the stairs, his pack following behind him and he smiles at Elena, “you all might want to get comfortable this is a long story,” he says to everyone while staring into Elena’s brown eyes.

He turns back to the hall, and he sits down on the steps. Remus laying on his thigh and Ghenji sitting down beside him while the rest of his pack either other choosing to sit or stand.

“So where shall I start Elena?”, he says looking up at her knowing she was still standing behind him, “oh I know let’s start with my home”.

He turns back to the hall and notices how everyone has somehow come closer wanting to know what’s going on or what happened and he smiled at them all, “The ClawClan was well known, a peaceful and amazing pack. Elena was the Beta’s daughter and we were best friends. My older brother, Quilliam, had just turned 18 and that meant he would soon get his mate but my brother had not fully matured yet so, you can guess what happened. When he saw Elena on his birthday, he was ecstatic unfortunately, he was still a boy so he didn’t accept her nor did he reject her”.

“Lucius you know that’s not true, he did reject me”.

“Elena, respect the storyteller,” he says looking up at her scowl, “anyway, he didn’t reject her but she was one to always overreact so she ran away from her home. My brother came home and I knew something was troubling him, he told me that Elena had run away and he thought it was for the best because he could turn his attention to being the best alpha there is but when he heard that his lovely mate had fallen for another his wolf grew crazy and he went to the pack demanding his mate back, you can guess which pack it was”.

He watched as the people in the hall turned to each other and he heard them all mutter the same word, “The Ethereal Therealts”.

“Yes, intended on getting his mate back, he was thrown out of the pack with no remorse and treated like a dog, not an Alpha with respect while his mate hid behind another male,”

“Lucius stop this, Quilliam did reject me and he attacked the pack-

“Elena you are testing my patience, how can one wolf attack the pack?” he growls,” my brother came home his heart heavy and my father didnt want to see his children in pain. My mother wasn’t helping with all her crying whenever she would see Quilliam in pain and we knew Elena was making love with her male”.

“Father loved you Elena and he was foolish to believe that you would do the right thing. My father went to the Therealts the next day along with the council to sway Elena to give my brother another chance but when they arrived there, Elena told the council that my brother had rejected her and replaced her with someone else which was not true, my mother was tending to my brothers wounded wolf and her son. My father knew it wasn’t true so he told Elena to tell the truth and she started crying saying that it was true but my father was not having her waterworks and he got angry and begged Alexander to give Elena the chance to be with her mate as he had been with his mate and that it wasn’t fair just because his mate had died, but Alexander wouldn’t budge”.

“My father’s wolf grew angry, knowing his son will forever suffer and this part I’m ashamed of. He had ordered me and the rest of the pack that had tagged along to kidnapped Elena and I did apologize for that. She promised that my father would not pay the price he was just thinking of his son but she lied and my father was murdered and the council did nothing but watch,” he growled turning to the council who looked everywhere but his eyes.

“I went home and I had to tell my mother that her mate was killed, my brother was already losing his wolf, what do you think happened to him when he heard father was gone because of you?”.

“Your father wrote his fate, Lucius,” Alexander growled at him,” and did my brother write his fate too, Alexander?”, he growled back.

He turns back to the hall and he felt his heartache at the next part,” my brother was heartbroken, he had lost his mate and now his father and to make matter worse Elena came back to the pack saying that she was here for us and was sorry for had happened. From that moment on, I hated her, I hated you,” he seethed clutching his hands,” She played with my brother’s emotions and I remember all the times he grew excited thinking he had finally gotten his mate back but I knew she was going to leave him again, and I tried telling him but he wouldn’t believe me and as time passed the more I hated you, the more I wanted you gone”.

“Finally you told my brother that you would leave and never return and he was heartbroken, so he let you go,” he said turning to Remus patting his head,” but even though you left you had done your damage, the pack was a wreck, everyone saw my family as this enemy and I knew it was your fault. Everyone saw you as this helpless victim and my mother wasn’t taking the death of her mate very well and you knew how fragile she was, so with the pack against us my mother started getting weak and Quilliam started seeing you for who you really are.”

“And he finally broke, he left the pack with wolves and I tried to stop him but he wouldn’t listen. He went back to the Therealts wanting Elena but he was killed. And again the council watched without doing anything but what pissed me off the most was when the Therealts and the council came to my pack the next day, stripped me of my alpha title and gave it to her father”.

“I was so angry and things only got worse from there, my father’s best friend turned against us and treated us like we were nothing, my mother fell into a coma because she couldn’t handle the pain. I had to take care of her, and when the pack started using us, using my mother as a punching bag, I just couldn’t stand it anymore”.

He stood from the steps, “The former Luna was treated like shit and so we left, I carried my mother through everything, fed her, did everything for her. For some time I was alone but Ghenji found us,” he turns to Ghenji with a smile and she smiles kissing his cheek, Dominic ruffling his hair and the rest of his pack laughing and smiling, "and I found my home again and every day I pray to the goddess that she brings back my mother”.

He watches everyone, he sees so many emotions in their eyes and he doesn’t know how to react to that.

“This is why I will never bow down to you, you destroyed everything I had and left me with nothing. And although mother has taught me to never take revenge, I apologize to her every day while also pledging to her that I will make sure you know the pain we go through every day”, he says turning away from Elena who seems to have an unbiased expression but he knew that she was feeling a lot more than pain.

He was always able to read her.

“We the SnowClovers revoke our pledge to the Ethereal The realts Growlers,” he turns shocked to the women now standing beside him.

She turns to him with a soft smile, “I’m sorry for the pain you’ve gone through child and wish your mother all the best,” she says before placing a kiss on either side of his cheeks.

And not a moment later, the rest of the packs in the hall, start revoking their pledges and he enjoys the emotion in Elena’s eyes. An emotion he’s so familiar with too.
