Catori let out a contented sigh, now with a full belly and feeling as if a burden had been lifted.

“So, what are we going to do today?″ She asked.

When Catori turned to face Rydstorm, he felt his body jerk as her feminine scent invaded his senses. He didn’t understand why it was so strong suddenly.

″You are so close, I can almost taste you,″ Rydstorm told her.

He imagined her in his arms, making love to her until she cried from pleasure.

“So, stare at each other then.″ She nodded.

Unexpectedly, Rydstorm’s lips covered hers.

He growled softly when she leant closer to him. At the same time, Catori could feel her body coming alive with an unfamiliar sensation.

Catori tried to pull away, but Rydstorm grabbed a fist full of her hair to hold her in place, making her clutch onto his upper arms.

His tongue drifted out, licking her lips, but with her inexperience, she didn’t know what to do. But she did something that surprised him and sent chills all over his body.

Her soft hands held onto the back of his neck as she lifted herself to sit on his lap.

Rydstorm had to restrain himself, not knowing if Catori wanted him in that way right now or if she was just testing the waters.

Thankfully, she pulled away, but she still sat on his lap, which didn’t help his growing erection.

“What was that all about?” Catori asked, breathing hard.

Giving a small smile, Rydstorm said. “It has to do with our mate bond.”

“Will it always be like that?”

“No, it will get more intense as time goes by.”

Catori leant her head onto Rydstorm’s chest, drinking in his intoxicating scent.

Just then, the door of the dining room is pushed open, with Fang and the blue hair female walking in.

Catori looked back at the two, then looked up at Rydstorm.

“She’s your sister?”

“Yes, Winona. And just another pain in the ass.”

“My king,” Winona said in a mocking tone.

“What do you want now, sister?”

“To know if you have come to a decision, this place is drying out my skin and while you are playing house with this one, your people are growing angsty,” Winona voiced.

Rydstorm let out a low but awful growl.

“Careful how you refer to my mate.”

Winona’s eyes widen, then her face soften as she stared at the female sitting on her brother’s lap.

Rydstorm gazed down at his mate, as she now has her head resting against his chest. He wanted to do what was best for her, to make her happy.

“What do you want to do, Catori?”

She answered immediately, with no hesitation.

“I want to leave this godforsaken place. I hate it here.”

“Well, I like her,” Winona said with a smile.

“Very well, we leave.”

“But what about crushing these people? I was really hoping to chew on some bones, show those Stones why we shouldn’t be messed with.” Fang punched the air with a fist.

“Or we can just leave them to their own demise. The people of Desolation will destroy themselves. They have no unity and there is no trust. So that will lead to their downfall.” Catori’s eyes glowed as the words left her mouth.

“It’s settled then. We leave now.”

Fang’s jaw clenched, but he remained silent.

“Besides, I know the Stones all too well. They will come looking for trouble when we leave and that, sir, will give you the perfect excuse to chew on their cartilage and bones.” Catori winked at Fang.

“Shall we then?″ Rydstorm asked, nipping at his bride’s ear.

Catori shivered, causing goosebumps to form.

(Fang left the dining room with a smile because he had a nasty plan in mind. He was about to reveal himself before the humans he hated so much. In that way, it would be certain that they would come looking for him and the others. Giving him a reason to kill them all when the time came.)

Before Catori could think, she felt an unsettling feeling in the pit of her stomach, at the same time she felt lightheaded.

Everything around her went by in a blur, making her dizzy and Cross eyed.

When Rydstorm set Catori on her feet, she grabbed onto the closest thing, which was him.

“What was that?”

Rydstorm easily picked her up and placed her on his bed.

“I’m sorry, amica mea, I didn’t think of the effect my shimmering would have on you?”

“Shimmering?” Catori raised a brow.

“Yes, it is a term we use. Whenever we need to get from one place to the next, our body glows then disperse.”

Catori gave a slight nod in response. She was afraid to speak again because she had the feeling as if she was about to throw up.

After a while, she looked around the room. It seemed familiar to her, but she didn’t know why.

“Where are we?”

“My home, La Caverne De Routoise.”

Catori’s mouth formed an ‘O’.

Sitting up, Catori took a good look around the open, spacious room. It was as if the walls weren’t there, but at the same time, made from air.

“Where is this located?”

“In the mountains that overlook Desolation.”

“This is incredible.” Catori marveled.

“You haven’t seen anything yet.” Rydstorm had a proud look on his face.

“Is shimmering the only means of getting around?”

“No, you can walk.”

At that, Catori got up out of the bed and walked over to one of the fog looking walls.

She was confused about how it was made possible. It was a solid, but if you pushed hard enough, your hand could penetrate the wall.

“Ow.” She quickly pulled her hand back after getting a burning sensation.

“Careful now. I wouldn’t want you to tumble over the side of the mountain.”

Rydstorm went up beside her and took her blistered hand in his. He gave it a kiss, which caused it to heal slowly.

“How did you do that?”

“I am a Chuvash dragon, meaning I am a fire type. Even though fire is seen as destructive, it can also be used for healing and protection.”

Catori looked up at Rydstorm with a smile. She had the feeling that he breathed fire, but she said nothing about that.

“What type of dragon do you think I am?”

“I don’t know. But I’m sure you will be legendary because of who your parents are. Your mother was a Pyrausta, a fae or fairy like dragon. While your father, well, he is of the most vicious kind. But there is no telling what you are. Being an offspring of both.”

“Well, I’m not worried.”

Rydstorm gave a small smile. “There isn’t anything to worry about. Even though us Dragons are forever at war, we don’t go out of our way to fight each other.”

“I don’t know what to expect.”

“Don’t worry about it. I will explain more along the way. Our way of life is simple. We make our own rules and enjoy our long lives as best as we can.″
