Chapter 518

Avery picked up a chicken drumstick and held it up to Leah's mouth, "This is my mom's homemade roast chicken, and you can tell it's crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Are you sure you don't want to try it?"

The mouthwatering aroma wafted towards Leah, making her salivate.

For a foodie like Leah, it was pure torture to see delicious food but not be able to eat it.

"I'll just have one bite"

Avery chuckled, and he loved watching Leah enjoy her food.

“Go on, and finish the drumstick."

William blinked, his mischievous eyes glinting.

“Uncle Avery, why don't you ask Leah why she's dieting?"

Avery's attention was drawn to this, “Why?”

Leah quickly picked up a piece of steak and shoved it into William's mouth, hoping to stop him from spilling the beans

With his mouth full, William mumbled, "Of course it's for a boyfriend.”

Leah choked, unable to stop his loose lips.

Avery had just picked up a piece of steak when he heard this, and his fork trembled, dropping the steak onto the table.

He put down his fork and turned to look at Leah, his charming smile freezing on his face, “You have a boyfriend? Why didn't I know about this? Is he from showbiz or not?"

He fired a series of questions at her.

Leah was flustered, “No, don't listen to William's nonsense. He doesn't even know what a boyfriend is."

"I know.” William nodded, looking precocious.

Avery lost his appetite, his gaze fixed on Leah, his brows furrowed, “Were you planning to keep it a secret from me and date him behind my back?"

Leah was sweating bullets, "No, I swear.” She held up her palm.

"Why are you dieting out of the blue?" Avery pressed, his mood plummeting at the thought of Leah having a boyfriend.

Leah pouted, "I just want to look prettier"

"You're already very pretty. Being too skinny isn't attractive, and I don't like skinny girls.”

Avery said this and picked up his fork, filling her plate with steak and chicken. In no time, her plate was full.

“Eat all of it, no more dieting. You're not fat at all.”

Leah drooped her head in resignation, and Avery could be quite intimidating when he's being overbearing.

Aurelia chuckled, “Avery, you took a three-year-old's words seriously? Even if Leah did have a boyfriend, how could William know?"

William cheekily stuck out his tongue at Avery.

Avery rubbed his forehead, feeling like a fool for letting a preschooler trick him.

"You little rascal!"

William smirked, "Leah if you're going to have a boyfriend, it can only be Uncle Avery, no one else, or he will be angry: Leah's face turned red again, and she quickly picked up her fork, focusing on her meal.

Aurelia took a sip of her soup, changing the subject.

“Avery, you've made headlines again, and what happened with Bonnie?"

Avery shrugged, nonchalantly, “She came to visit the set, and a golf ball from the nearby set flew over and she blocked it for me. The paparazzi love to blow things out of proportion. There's no way I'm getting back together with her."

“Now Leah can rest easy.” William was about to say something else but Aurelia stuffed his mouth with chicken.

She leaned in close to William and whispered, "Sweetie, everyone has their own little secrets, and we need to learn to keep them for them.”

William blinked, seeming to understand, and stopped talking.

Actually, he was just a little impatient. Avery's plan to make Leah his girlfriend was taking longer than a marathon.
