Chapter 359

Aurelia felt a bead of sweat trickling down her forehead. When had they become so close, so unrestricted?

To her, he was still that icy, aloof, ruthless guy. His sudden warmth threw her off balance.

“It's getting late. I have work to do.” She sat up, quickly got out of bed, and darted into the bathroom

Watching her retreating figure, Leopold's smile grew wider. He decided, from then on, he would have her every night.

Originally, Arnold planned to cook a hearty dinner today and asked William to invite Aurelia over. But then, Magnolia called. She said there was an emergency and asked him to come over to Moonlight Manor.

As soon as he entered, he saw Lisa, and his brows immediately furrowed.

“Mom, why did you ask me to come here?”

Magnolia smiled, “I just wanted us to have a family dinner.”

Arnold was furious, “This is your emergency?”

“If 1 didn't say that, would you have come?” Magnolia sighed.

Arnold detested deceit. He turned to go but Magnolia grabbed his arm, “Since you're here, why don't you stay and have dinner? I made your favorite chicken wings. You used to devour a whole plate when you were little.”

Arnold took a deep breath, hesitated for a moment, and then decided to stay.

Lisa whispered, “Arnold, can you give me a chance? I can be a good wife.”

Arnold scoffed, “Impossible. Don't delude yourself. I've asked my lawyer to draft the divorce papers You'd better sign them, and don't force me to take action.”

Lisa's lips trembled, and she turned her gaze to Magnolia.

Magnolia waved her hand and said, “Let's eat first. We can discuss this later.”

The dinner table was eerily silent.

For Arnold, the chicken wings no longer tasted like they used to. They were no longer the flavor he remembered.

Perhaps it was because he was too young to understand the kind of person Magnolia really was. After dinner, Magnolia brought out a bowl of sweet soup. “Arnold, I specially made this soup for you. Does it taste like the one you had when you were little?”

Arnold didn’t say a word, picked up the bowl, had the soup quickly, and then stood up, “I have to go."

“Arnold!” Magnolia grabbed his arm and said, “I recently bought some stocks. Can you check them for me before you leave?”

She led Arnold to the living room, opened her phone, and showed him the stocks she had bought. Arnold felt dizzy. He tried to stand up but he blacked out.

Magnolia stroked his face and said, “Arnold, everything I do is for your good. We need to defeat Jessica and reclaim the position of the head of the Stirling family.”

Lisa walked over and said, “Mom, are you sure about this?”

Magnolia replied, “As long as you have a child, Arnold cant divorce you.”

She called a servant and, together with Lisa, helped Arnold up the stairs.

The next morning.

A loud slap echoed through the silent air.

Lisa was knocked to the ground, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth.

He never hit women. But this was the first time. If it wasn't for Magnolia rushing in, Lisa might have been strangled by Arnold.

“You disgust me.”

Lisa coughed and sobbed, “I'm your wife. Isn't it normal for us to sleep with each other?”

Magnolia grabbed Arnold's hand, “Arnold, your wife can only be Lisa. If you want to divorce her, I'll kill myself.”

“Then

go ahead and die!” Arnold furiously shook off her hand.

Magnolia was thrown to the ground by the force, but Arnold didn't help her up, instead, he stormed out.

He felt an overwhelming sense of anger and sadness. His mother had set a trap for him. And he had lost Aurelia he loved most to save her.
