"Are you sulking for no reason? Could it be... jealousy?” He leaned in, his lips grazing her ear. His warm breath fanned her cheek, filled with the intoxicating scent of masculinity that made her blush. “No, no, don't get me wrong. How could I be jealous?” Aurelia hastily denied, shaking her head so vigorously it was like a bobblehead. “I've always strictly adhered to our agreement, never harboring any inappropriate thoughts about you. Rest assured, even if you were the last man on Earth, I wouldn't have any feelings for you. Truly.”

Hearing her words, Leopold's face got gloomy discreetly. Although she was being modest, his ego was still bruised by her words.

"Good, remember that. You're not entitled to.” Leopold said coldly.

Her heart twinged slightly, “I know, always mindful.”

She was just a minor character, not worthy of harboring feelings for him.

Slipping her hand out of his, Aurelia stood, “I...should get off work now.”

Leopold's gaze fell on his cufflinks with a small smile.

He might not like this woman, but the cufflinks were indeed creative.

That evening, he devoured two servings of steak and two bowls of chowder, his lost appetite finally returning.

Aurelia drew in a breath, seriously wondering if he had starved himself for days, seemingly having lost weight.

He must have missed their babies.
