Case 8: Burning Desires

On a road toward New Glacier, a truck driver is driving toward the city delivering the Thanksgiving spirit into the city, playing a jolly songs on the radio as he hums along the lyrics,

On the side of the road he finds a man that is waving S.O.S signals toward the truck, he even got in the middle of the road.

The truck driver stops the truck, he got out of the truck and talks to the man, the man said that he need to contact Otto Maroon a friend he has on the SCIS, as soon as he can.

The morning sun came, Aron open his eyes to see around the room, seeing that his beloved Scarlet is sound asleep in his arms, he took a deep smell on her neck, she smell like him, every single part of her smell like him, he also notice that she is wearing one of his shirts, he didn’t mind not knowing how she looks under her clothing, he thought that she was or still is ashamed of her body or that she has a scar that might frighten him, ether way he was find not looking at her.

On the other hand he loves to feel every curve and every heat she emitted every time he touch her.

After a few minutes that Aron spend starring at her sleeping form Scarlet open her eyes, her honey color that he loves so much stare back at his blue ones.

“Good morning Kitten” said Aron

Scarlet gaze at Aron “Morning”

“How are you feeling? I didn’t hurt you?” ask Aron thinking that he might have been rough with her

Scarlet has been staying in Aron’s place for a long time, the remodeling is nearly complete, and so she should be home soon.

During the entire month, Aron had made sure to make love to her almost every single night.

“Nothing hurts, I am a bit sore, but I am fine” answer Scarlet

“Good” said Aron leaning to kiss her lips

He kiss her with passion and lust, Scarlet responded to his kisses, he even got on top of her, leaving open mouth kisses on her neck, Scarlet made a small cry.

Suddenly Aron’s phone started to ring.

“Aron your phone” m**n Scarlet

“Later” said Aron continuing his assault

Scarlet gently push him “Now” demanded

Aron growl and grabs his phone “What?!”

"Caught you in a bad time?" said Otto on the other line

“Yes! Bad timing Otto!” said Aron

"Sure, don’t want to spoil your love making with Scarlet. That a aside, we have a situation on our hands, Nathaniel is here, but he has bad new to share with us, I suggest that you and Scarlet get ready and meet us back in the agency, stat" said Otto as he hung up

Aron turns toward Scarlet and informs her what Otto told him, the both didn’t waste they took a bath (separately, Scarlet doesn’t want to reveal her mark yet) and got ready to leave.

Once they arrive into the agency, they both spotted Titania, Otto and a guy with army cut hair, brown eyes that has black circles around them, his clothing was trash and he look dehydrated, they knew that he was Nathaniel due to a scar he has under his right eye.

Aron got closer to then, Scarlet was heading to the lab, but then Aron grabs her by the arm and kiss her right in front of everyone.

“I’ll see you later Kitten” said Aron with a warm smile

Scarlet blush but accepted the fact that they are now together, she remembers later that night after he confesses once again his love to her

“How can you say that you still love me? With everything I hated and ignore you these past few months?” said Scarlet

“My heart belongs to you Scarlet, every single fiber in my body calls you, and I want a life with you, a future with you. I know that you are still scare, but let’s do this little by little, let’s start again, please be my girlfriend, and I promise that this time, I will never let you go, you will not leave my side anytime soon” said Aron giving her another kiss

Of course he didn’t stop there, they had a second round of love making, this time more intense, even higher than the first time they connected together, Scarlet could feel her mating instinct to kick in, she want him whole, same goes for the Golden Dragon’s instinct (Aron has no control of his Dragon so this will refer as a second side of him) by the end of their hot, passionate and intense second round, Scarlet release from the first time in nearly ten years what her heart desire.

“I love you too Aron, Yes I’ll be your girl once again” said Scarlet as she pass out, catching her breath

Scarlet enter her lab with a blush on her cheeks, Nicolas greeted her and they both started to work, Scarlet put her thoughts a side and concentrate on the chemicals she is working on to help the other Dragons on their field.

Mean wield, Aron sat on his desk, Titania stood next to Nathaniel and Otto brought a chair to him.

“Ok, Nathaniel, I want you to tell Aron what happen, since the beginning” said Otto

Nathaniel took a small breath

“As you know, the agency transfer me to Washington D.C by my skills as an Abigar, my powers allows me to predict the future or scan the future outcome, my partner is an Alkonost, mystical creature that is half human and half bird. We were investigating a series of murders that involve a half bread mystical creature that has the powers of a flame or fire, its name is Blazer Black and he is a Salamander creature. We had him follow to the woods near New Glacier, I told my partner that I had a friend in the SCIS incase that something happens we can receive back up from him, he agrees, we got inside and eavesdrop on their plans, until I heard the voice of a man that I can’t identify, but I remember what he said «There is a group of Dragons that live in New Glacier, among them there is one that has control over the flames, however he isn’t my target, my target is the sibling of this Dragon, find the Black Dragon known as Kurohi and you’ll get your reward, Immortality» we manage to understand that they were going after someone of your team, so I said in whisper to my partner that we must leave, but then we were found out. We became trap inside that Cottage, until my partner decided to take action, but as I predicted, I would survive as my partner suffers from the burning flames” finish Nathaniel with his story

The Knights team look at each other there is one that fits the profiled that is obsess over the Black Dragon and is that man that fought with Kurohi in the previous cases months ago, ever since they didn’t saw her again.

Aron told Otto to stay with Nathaniel as Titania and he would go to the cottage to verified the story. On their way Titania is staring at Aron, he felt that she is burning holes into his skull.

“Whatever you have to say, say it” said Aron annoying

“You had s*x with Scarlet didn’t you? And is not the first time you two had it” said Titania

Aron chuckle “I didn’t had s*x, I made love to her, that is a different thing. S*x is having i*********e with someone you aren’t attach to, wield making love is having i*********e with the person you love so deep in your heart” said Aron

They arrived at the area, using their Dragons sense of smell they arrived at the cottage, they open the door, with their defenses and offence on high alert they enter.

Looking around they see that Nathaniel was telling the truth, but something was off, they saw blood splatter in some areas, then Titania notice the oven is dripping blood, she call out Aron,

When Aron arrived they both open the oven.

Titania gasp, inside the oven is the burning body of a Alkonost, probably the body of Nathaniel’s partner.

“Damn, talking about Thanksgiving cooking” said Titania

Aron grab his phone and dial Otto, he inform him to get the team there, but to leave Nathaniel and him in the agency, incase something that he could know,

Otto understood the instructions, beside that he might had an idea of what happen there.

Later on the team arrived, Dr. Stellar is working on the burning body, Aron and Titania are scanning the area, Scarlet and Nicolas are searching with ultraviolet lights, taking samples and sketching the area with photo shots.

In a moment, Dr. Stellar declare that the victim die of burning and a force trauma on the spine, the poor guy or girl (?) spine was severe broken and was put to burn alive, until death. Nicolas found traces of five foot prints and one matches the only source that Scarlet hates so much, leaving four unknown creatures to identify.

They reach on the agency, Scarlet and Nicolas are in their lab.

Scarlet is testing the fabric that the victim had and all the skin tissue that Dr. Stellar send them from the autopsy, Nicolas are running the test on the samples that they brought from the crime scene.

Aron came a few minutes later, he sees his girlfriend and Nicolas working in the computer both really into their work, he can blame that Scarlet is workaholic.

“So guys what do we got so far?” ask Aron

“Not much we just got started on the samples we collected” said Nicolas

Aron turn to Scarlet

“So far as for the tissue is it a Alkonost creature, but I can’t say for sure that is Nathaniel’s partner, not until the DNA matches with it” said Scarlet

“How long before we get something?” ask Aron irritated

Nicolas stare at Scarlet as she does the same

“More or less than 3 to 4 hours, top” said Scarlet

Aron gave her a kiss on the cheek and left the Lab.

Both Nicolas and Scarlet return to work, Nicolas smirk knowing what happen between them. They continue on, Scarlet use her sense of smell as well as her eye sight, she smell components of gasoline and liquor, her eye sight could see traces of ash and a tiny drop of blood that could be mistaken as a red spot on the shirt, Scarlet put a drop of water on the tiny droop and swap it. She made sure to the right chemicals and inset the swap at the tubes inside the machine. An hour later the machine beep, the results are in the computer revealing the identity of the victim, the type of blood and some of the chemical samples that Nicolas collected, she call up to the team, Otto answer the phone and Scarlet told him to bring the team in the lab.

Once everyone was down the saw that the Forensic team had recreated the cottage interior with photo shop walls.

Nathaniel sees all this and wonders, he turns his head on Otto

“Hey is this you’re Forensics’ team?” ask Nathaniel

“Yes, this is our team, the 35 year old man with the short brown hair, 5′9 , classic nerd wear is the Forensic Chief Assistance, Nicolas Stone and that is our 24 year old with the short-long black hair, black glasses, with the navy blue shirt, skinny jeans and brown ankle boots is the Forensic Chief, Scarlet Walker” said Otto

Nathaniel is staring at Scarlet with interest, he never saw a woman as beautiful as her, he started to wonder about her, that is until he hear a low growl from Aron’s part, he stood a few steps back taking Otto’s arm with him.

“Um, say Otto she doesn’t have a Boyfriend, right?” said Nathaniel in the very quiet low voice he could muster

“Oh yes, she does have a Boyfriend, is out Team leader Aron” answer Otto

Nathaniel gulp and his mood change into disappointment. They all walk toward the Forensic team, Scarlet turns around and greet them, She presented the scene that Nicolas and herself did, she explain to them what they know so far including adding the Story Nathaniel said, so they recreate that moment when his friend decide to sacrifice himself to save his life.

“...And this is all I have for now” finish Nathaniel explaining his side of the incident

“Ok, now here is a theory that what might had happen” said Nicolas “We believe that after you escape, the enemy grabs him by the arm and try to pin him down”

Aron grabs Otto pining him down

“Then he began to struggle, but he kept screaming and shaking on top of the Salamander’s men” explain Scarlet

Aron cover Otto’s mouth and pin him harder on the groundin a point that Otto can’t move anymore

“But there is a small mistake, one of the bad guys loosen his back grip, and your partner took that as an advantage to hurt him, injuring him, some blood even splatter on your partner’s clothing” said Nicolas

Aron continue on griping on Otto, as Titania pretended to be injured by Otto’s feet

“In that moment Salamander kicks his face making his neck snap” said Scarlet

Titania pretended to kick Otto’s face as Aron kept a hold on him, at the moment Titania’s shoe made contact with the floor, Otto pretended to be dead.

“Since they knew that you were gone and that you would send some back up, Salamander push your partner in the oven where they pour gasoline and he burn your friend to carbon crisp” finish Nicolas

Aron push Otto into the fake oven, making him coming out on the other side and Otto turn on a little fan that made paper orange and red color move like flames. Nathaniel understood the theory in how his partner die, but he is still on the hunt for a criminal Salamander.

Later that night, Titania, Otto and Nathaniel were discussing about fact on Nathaniel’s partner, Salamander and the mysterious man.

Aron arrived searching for clues, Titania and Otto talk about the Salamander’s true name and personal information, but they have nothing on the mysterious man that he was making a deal of, the only source of clue they have is that the mysterious man wants Kurohi.

After discussing the facts in hand they decided to leave it for tonight, everyone took their stuff and left the room in a flash before Aron decide to leave them there for overwork.

Aron smirk at the thought, but walk toward the Lab, he saw his beloved Scarlet working as Nicolas is working on the other side.

He hugs her from behind and kiss her on the neck, Nicolas is too into his job to see this so Aron continue his assault, but Scarlet slaps his hand away, he chuckles at this overworking kitty, he gave her a kiss goodnight and she responded, leaving her be.

The next morning, they team arrived at the desk room, Titania started to make some phone calls, wield Otto and Nathaniel are searching in the computer the Salamander. Aron arrived three minutes late with a bag of clothing and 20 oz. of coffee for his beloved Girlfriend.

He reach the Lab and as he expected, Scarlet is still on her computer with headphones on, wield Nicolas is crashing on the Labs couch, snoring and drooling.

Aron place the coffee on her side and she took her headphones faster than dash.

“Coffee” said Scarlet drowning her coffee like water

“You’re welcome” said Aron surprise

Scarlet finish her coffee and gasp for air

“That was so refreshing” said Scarlet all freshen up

Aron wiggle his bag and Scarlet turn her face to see his movements

“What?” said Scarlet irritated

“I brought you some clothing and your tooth brush” said Aron happy

Scarlet grabs the bag and hugs him

“God, thank you Aron, I know I smell” Scarlet groans

Aron chuckle and let her go.

Scarlet went to the agency bathrooms, to take a quick shower, as Aron leans on the wall near her shower to talk to her

“So anything you find to tell us where the hell is our guy?” ask Aron

“Not that I can tell you but what I can give you, Salamander creatures tent to be explosive and tent to lose their temper, if we give him what he wants, then we might possibly buy us sometime, but it is a risky move, the question is what is that he wants?” said Scarlet

“He want’s Kurohi” said Aron

Scarlet stops washing her belly after hearing this, what she knows that Kurohi is only a local rumor and only some people around the areas might knows or seen about her existence, so how come a Salamander creature that is not around here knows about her existence.

Scarlet continue washing herself.

“There is something that is bothering me. If Salamander is after Kurohi, the question remains, how does he knows about her? And how does he knows where to look?” ask Scarlet

“Don’t know, the only thing that Nathaniel told us is that in the moment of their espionage, he heard the voice of a man he never heard of, our mysterious man told the Salamander, that there are four Dragons, one that can controls the flames much more powerful than himself and the other one is the Black Dragon name Kurohi, that is what Nathaniel heard” explain Aron

Scarlet got out of the shower with her towel wrap around herself

“I don’t understand, as far as I know most humans believe that the Black Dragon is dead, until four months ago that she reveal herself to the supernatural world that she is still alive, but if my calculations are correct and according to your report, her range of presence was as big as the city, there is no way that the Salamander creature knew about her existence” said Scarlet

“So are you suggesting that someone told them about Kurohi?” ask Aron

“Think Aron, you meet her, beside you and the rest of the team who else was there to see her?” ask Scarlet

Aron thought for a minute

Scarlet went inside a changing station as Aron kept thinking, though Scarlet knows the answerto the question, that he is on the hunt for her again, that he must had leak the information. Scarlet has to stop him, she must put an end on Paul James Miler, the last of the Dragon hunters.

Aron snap his fingers

“There was a guy, some nut j*****s that wanted to kill her badly, but I tell you very badly, I don’t know his name” said Aron

Scarlet came out of the changing station, tying her hair and putting her new glasses on

“Well you might not know his name, but you know someone who does” said Scarlet

She is tired of fighting him, to be hunted by him, eversince she became a Dragon, he has never stop pestering on her existance and she has to end this monster that dresses as a man.

“Who?” ask Aron

“Kurohi, she might know something about him, if you go look for her, you might learn a thing or two about the guy, it say so in the report «A woman name Kurohi is fighting with some unknown man on the roof of the X building, injuring her on the right upper shoulder and she happens to be the Black Dragon»” said Scarlet repeating what Aron wrote on his report

Aron smile and gave her a kiss on the forehead

“I love you” claim Aron leaving

Scarlet hug him

“I love you too” return Scarlet his words

After the conversation that Aron has with Scarlet, he left the lab in search of Kurohi; he is determent to know who the mysterious man is and how he can capture him in order to maintain peace in New Glacier.

After Aron left the Lab, Scarlet turns everything off and close the Lab, she headed to the office where she change her clothing into her suit, she opens the hidden passage way and headed into the city New Glacier as Kurohi.

She gave Nicolas a call telling her what she is up to and letting him stand by if there was trouble ahead.

The night was a bit cold, soon Winter would arrived, meaning she can’t dress like this much otherwise her body would go mostly to hibernate, she saw Aron leaving the building from the sides, he sees him climbing inside his car and drove off, Scarlet summons her dragon Shadow, she climbs on top of it and he flew up in the sky, with her dragon eye sight she sees Aron, driving near a cliff, she recognize that cliff, he usually goes there to think.

Aron stops the car on the cliff he got out and started to pace, he has to find Kurohi, be he doesn’t know where to start looking for someone who doesn’t want to be found.

In the moment that he turns around Aron sees her, on top of a Black Dragon, she climb off Shadow and the dragon disappear on her shadow. She walk closer toward Aron, he stood there proud of been a Dragon, but Scarlet has much more pride than him. They stood in front of each other, face to hidden face.

“I presume that your name is Kurohi?” ask Aron

Scarlet nods

“Yes my name is Kurohi, I heard you want to speak with me, is this true?” ask Scarlet hoping that her voice doesn’t gave her away

Scarlet made sure that her enemies didn’t recognize her voice, so she practices making it sexier and cold, unlike her actual voice that is sweet and warm.

“I heard among the shadows that the great legendary Dragons were searching for me. What is that you are after?” ask Scarlet

“Answers, there is a man that you fought on the roof in the X building (Chapter of the Grim Reaper), I was wondering who the guy is? And what is his problem to expose you?” ask Aron not showing mercy

Scarlet got shivers all around her body, if Aron could use his commanding voice for something else, she would become butter in his hands and let him do whatever he wants with her body.

Scarlet leans on Aron’s car and chuckles

“That man is a dangerous one, he is the only one of his own kind so is to be expected that he might need some help from some other creatures to get to me, even if that means killing thousands of supernatural been” said Scarlet as Kurohi

Aron stood in front of her

“Enough, I want some answers, and you will give them to me, I am your superior Dragon, I command you to do so” his patient was a bit thing with Kurohi, but not with Scarlet

Scarlet sigh

“I can tell you much about him, we basically try to cut our necks most of the time, beside you and I are in the same level of power therefore, I don’t follow your commands, but is fair that you and the other clueless Dragons should know about him. His name is Paul James Miller, he is 100% human, but he is much stronger than a normal human, he is a savior to the human community, a sadist to the supernatural creatures, for us he is a killer, a murder, he is known as the Dragon hunter and the last one of his profession. You see, Miller and I never had a good start, mostly because the Black Dragon save my life after killing one of the Dragon Hunters that were hunting him, after he saves my life another hunter kill the man that help the Black Dragon performed the ritual for my survival, when the Black Dragon died, I was left with no one to train me or teach me how to control my powers, so in the end I kill the hunter that murder Paul’s father” explain Scarlet the events of that night

Aron stood there quiet listening to every word that Kurohi is telling him, how she became the Black Dragon, but there was a missing link there, she mention that the Black Dragon save her life, but as far as Aron knows the Dragons found their successor 400 years ago, making her the fourth generation of the dragons, and yet she is more advance than the other dragons.

“By the way you are looking at me I can see that you don’t understand the part of the Black Dragon saving me, so let me clear that out. I am the first and the last generation of the Black Dragon, due to some time, I manage to reach a point that I had become immortal, therefore I will see each and everyone I know die and continue on their legacy. If you want to stop Miller from creating one disaster after the other there is only one way to do it and that is to kill him, so this is what I want to talk about with you” said Scarlet

Aron look at Kurohi, he knows that for a legendary creature like them, she can’t kill a human, but Kurohi explain to him that even though she is a legendary creature, she is from the creatures of the dark, so in other words, she can kill without feeling remorse or guilt.

“Is hard to process this, but what are we going to do about the situation, we got a Salamander to catch, but now we have a hunter to catch as well, but to kill that is even beyond what I had in mind” said Aron trying to figure out what to do

Scarlet stops him from pacing, by raising a hand in front of his face “Agent Kingston, I might have a solution, since humanity is unaware of my existance they are also unaware of his exitances as well, I can asure you that no one is going to miss him, so in favor, please leave Miller to me, and you and your team can capture the Salamander” said Scarlet

“But how? We don’t even know where he is? Or where to start looking?” said Aron

Scarlet laugh making Aron to raise an eyebrow

“You are a clueless Dragon. Use your senses, you might not be at full power, but you have unlimited senses to search your enemies, use a piece of an object that your enemies use and then you might find him only using that inhuman nose of yours” said Scarlet as she summons back Shadow

The Dragon yawns and lean down to let his mistress get on his back.

She sees Aron one last time, and then they both flew up in the sky heading back to the Scarlet’s apartment.

Scarlet jumps off Shadow into the emergency fire stairs and Shadows skydive into Scarlet’s shadow.

She opens the window, getting inside her bedroom, quickly change her clothing and walk toward her closet. She open a box thas she kept there, inside the box there is a piece of fabric with dry blood in it.

Memories of the fight she had with the dragon hunter came to mind, and how did it ended.

Scarlet took a long sniff of the blood even if it was faint, thinking that she could use it to find Miller or she could make Miller find her. However the thought that would cause a problem if she doesn’t have control over her full power or the consecuences of using them.

Scarlet is a woman that had experience with her powers, but she doesn’t have a 100% control over it and that is why she uses her sealing chains technic.

The next day, Scarlet got ready to head to work; she made a bag with her Black Dragon suit in it.

Arriving earlier than the rest of the team knowing that they would check why she has a bag on her hands. She hid her bag inside a secret drawer and left to turn things on inside the Lab.

She started to work on ending something that can be useful to Aron’s sense of smell. Nicolas arrived two hour later, with a sonogram picture in hand.

“Scarlet look what I found” said Nicolas with a big smile on his face

Scarlet raise her head to see the piece of paper on Nicolas hand

“Is that the sonogram?” ask Scarlet

Nicolas nods giving her the photo; Scarlet sees the picture and an image of a baby in it.

“It so big, how long is Monica?” ask Scarlet

“8 months, she can do any day now, but the baby seems to be a bit lazy to come to this world” said Nicolas proud of his second unborn child

Aron came inside and stood behind Scarlet he inspected the picture on her hand and with a smirk he lean on her shoulder

“Is that a picture of our baby Scarlet?” said Aron with a smile on his face

Scarlet turns around gazing into his eyes

“You wish, we just started our relationship Aron and you want kids already?” ask Scarlet

Aron pouts

“Hey I want kids and a loving wife, but not now, I want us to grow stronger and maybe in a few more years we can get marry and have at least a football team of kids” said Aron with a smile on his face

“Football team?! You want to kill me that bad?” said Scarlet shock

They are both Dragons and they don’t know how it will work for their future generation if their mother doesn’t age and their father might die and leave her and the kids behind, if he doesn’t reach immortality like her.

Scarlet return the picture to Nicolas when one of the machines beep, Scarlet walk toward it, in that moment Titania and Otto show up with more burning evidence that might need to be check.

Aron groan in frustration when he sees that there is nothing that they could use to find the Salamander or the Dragon hunter.

Scarlet scan the entire evidence box until something caught her eye, a piece of fabric on the end of the box, she inspect it and found a clue on it, she puts it on one of the machines to analyze the DNA, then a couple of hours later, the machine beep again, revealing a data of the person’s DNA.

She call Aron and the rest of the team down the Lab, she is pacing waiting for them and they arrive just as she was about to turn on her heels.

“I found out who the Salamander is...” Scarlet said as she walks toward the computer

“...meet our Salamander, Tyler Corneal, he used to be a private army men, leading his squad to evacuate survivors in Iraq in 1999, but in the year 2004 he lost his squad into a deathly trap in Afghanistan, sending him into a psychological hospital for nearly 2 more years, but he was discharge early, searching and hunting the people that murder his squad. I went a little bit deeper and found that inside his squad there was a woman that she happens to be Tyler’s mate. During his 4 years after killing the men that murder his squad he started to kill for fun and his powers grew stronger and stronger, until 2013 where he form a new squad with deadly wanted criminals looking for fun. Ever since then he vanish” said Scarlet

“Until now that he is hunting Kurohi for some guy we don’t know” said Otto

“That is not true, I meet with Kurohi last night, and she said the guy’s name is Paul James Miller. Scarlet can you find some data from this guy?” ask Aron

“I could try” said Scarlet

“What did Kurohi said about this guy?” ask Titania

“He is a Dragon Hunter, but he is the only one of his own kind, he is been hunting Kurohi since her transformation of the Black Dragon, also I find out that she is the first and last generation of the Black Dragon” said Aron

“First and Last generation?” ask Otto confuse

“She is immoral” answer Aron

Scarlet couldn’t find anything of Miller anywhere and she might know why; Hunter’s erase all the data of themself, so if one of them is capture or kill they can’t be trace back. Never the less, Scarlet knows about them and that is enough for her, but not for the other Dragons.

She retrieve the piece of fabric and took a small sniff, making sure no one could see her, she notice that the smell of the owner of the fabric is still there, so she walks toward Aron and extend her hand with the fabric.

“What is it Scarlet?” ask Aron

“I’ve been thinking, if you smell the scent of the fabric you might get to Tyler faster than before” said Scarlet handing him the fabric

“How did you know that?” ask Aron

“Hey I am not the one with the inhuman sense of smell” said Scarlet, Nicolas roll his eyes by that statement

Aron took a sniff and pass it on with Titania and Otto, the three of them had the scent of Tyler on their mind memorize. Aron kiss Scarlet on the lips and bit his goodbye to her.

As Aron, Titania and Otto left the Forensic team behind, Scarlet took the time to change back into Kurohi, Nicolas put his earpiece on and Scarlet did the same.

"So how does Aron know where to go?" ask Nicolas in the earpiece

“He is following his instincts, look Tyler is a military men so, he is obviously using the forest as a cover, chances that they might be in the city are high, since he is expecting to be in the forest and not in the city, I just have to find him for now in order to get to Miller before he decide to kill one of the Dragons with the state they are now” explain Scarlet to Nicolas

Scarlet search in one area, wield the other Dragons search the other area.

Aron order to split up and find Tyler before he hurts someone else, he caught the scent of Tyler tree hours later and communicate with Titania and Otto; they arrived at a construction site where they were surrounded by the gang that Tyler created. Among the shadows Tyler and a man they recognize stood together side by side.

“So you are the famous, legendary Dragons, you don’t look so tough, this will be easy to kill” said Tyler with sinister look on his face

Then the man on the side stops his tracks “Remember Salamander, they are bait, I want the Black Dragon, and she isn’t here yet, therefore we must wait, but a few screams would bring her in an instant” said Miller as he gets closer to the Dragons

Aron stood tall in front of Miller and growl, Miller took out a knife out of his back and shines it toward his face, making Aron unable to see. Miller took the chance and grabs Titania by the arm and pulls her toward him, keeping the knife on her neck. Miller knows that the Silver Dragon can be reborn by the mating of the Golden Dragon, he would rather kill them all, but knowing that there will be one left to deal with it and he couldn’t kill the other yet until Kurohi is really dead. Miller cuts a bit of Titania’s neck making her wince and grunt.

“You Dragons are so tough that not even a little scratch can hurt hu? Well then I guess I have to do this the hard way” said Miller raising his knife in the air, stabing Titania on her waist, making her screams in pain and agony

Aron couldn’t stay put so he use his Dragon speed to knock Miller out of Titania’s site, he stood in front of his teammates on a protective side.

Miller sees this as a threat and started to attack Aron.

Salamander gave the command to attack the enemy, the entire gang started to fight.

Otto was using his strong skills to bury the enemies to the ground, then he saw the they were to much that he hits the ground, some boulders came flying and he punch them away toward the gangs, Otto became surprise of the new skill he just receive.

Titania even though she is hurt, she use her legs to kick some of the gang away from her, then she got so angry that she step on the ground and Ice spikes came out of her feet, freezing anybody standing on her way, she got surprise of the new ability she just got.

As for Aron he is fighting the Salamander and the Dragon Hunter alone, his anger got the best of him that he made a fire blast coming out of his hands, he knew that he is evolving fast, but he never expected to have a new ability after the new one he got a few months ago.

Aron felt that his body started to burn and he didn’t see when Salamander or Miller kick him off balance and into the ground, Titania and Otto try to get to him, but the rest of the gang manage to pin them down. Miller walks closer toward Aron, his face fill with promise of a quick death, knowing that he is evolving like the Black Dragon

“I can’t let you live Golden Dragon, otherwise you’ll end up like Kurohi, and that is big threat to me!” Miller said as he sat on top of him getting the knife ready to kill Aron

Aron quickly close his eyes, thought about Scarlet, her happy face, the way she smile, the way she smells, her touch every time they made love, her everything and an image of her carrying his child made this death so painful, to know that you are going to die and leave someone you love most behind.

At that moment, Miller was tackle away from Aron by a strong dark wind gusts, then electrical waves came down to the gangs that are holding Titania and Otto down, the three of them stood up, everyone look around and Miller look at a specific place, Aron turn his eyes toward the direction that Miller is looking, there stood proud, but dangerous Kurohi, her eyes bright purple and her claws extended, she looks at Miller like a piece of trash that deserves to die by her hand.

One of the gang jump on her, but a dark shadow whiplash the guy away, her eyes are on Miller.

“You piece of s**t, is this the way to keep your word to me, by trying to kill the Golden Dragon” her voice was not sexy, nor cold

“Kurohi, you knew that he is evolving and fast, soon I won’t have one dragon to worry about, but two. Who knows? Maybe by the end of the year these Dragons would be powerful enough to murder me” said Miller

“You don’t have to worry, because of today, you will die by me!” said Kurohi fill with anger

Miller and Scarlet fought like never before, but he also knows that he isn’t using her full power, they jump, stab, scratch and bite each other, they arrived at the top of the constructive building, fighting the way the only knew how to, making pieces of steel fall on the ground where the rest of the gang and Dragons are.

They cover their eyes and faces by every dust the debris that is falling from the fight, Aron took the change in capturing Salamander and using his fire hands he made a special cuffs to arrest him.

Otto took the gang mostly down and cuff them as well, Titania call for back up and an ambulance. Aron couldn’t wait to see the fight or who was winning at this point, so he jump high enough to get to the same lever, but far away from their destructive fight.

When he arrived, he sees that Miller and Kurohi are in close combat fighting; to him her moves are fast and fill with electric energy, that is what gave her away in her powers.

Miller was trying to stay on top of her speed, they separate for a wield staring each other in the eyes, panting and waiting for one of the to make a move.

After a few minutes, Miller strike first, Kurohi charge a large electric arm to the teeth and ran at Miller’s direction, in the end they both clash, leaving a bright light surrounded them, then a lightning strike at their position.

Suddenly everything is completely silence, Aron open his eyes to see the scene in front of him, Miller was mostly fried and Kurohi’s claws stab him on the abdomen, he fell on the steel railing breathing hard from the fight and probably his death, on the other hand Kurohi kneel in front of him, but his knife is stab on Kurohi’s abdomen, she was still and breathing in slowly, she is also probably on her death as well. Aron try to move toward her, but then Miller spoke to her

“This can’t be the end... I cannot die yet...not after I avenge my father’s death...you cool blooded murder” pant Miller revealing his reason to kill Kurohi first than the other Dragons

Kurohi chuckle

“All because you wanted to avenge your father’s death? I can help you with that, you see, your father was there when it happen, when Shadow the Black Dragon gave me his powers, a man try to kill me when I was human, but Shadow rise where he was hidden and kill the man, he was going to kill your father, but they had only once choice to make, kill him or save me, but destiny took his faith and he decided to try and save my life, Shadow see this and he admitted that he never wanted to be a Dragon Hunter and that he hope to save his son from this life, in the end another hunter murder your father and blame it on the Black Dragon, when I was saved, Shadow die and your father die in front of me, so I kill the hunter that took your father away. Yet, it was too late to save you from this path, so he ask me that if you ever get to the Hunter’s path I should kill you” said Kurohi breathing hard from the fight and the stab wound on her abdominal area

Miller chuckle then laugh hard, watching the sky turn gray and rain drops falls from the sky, then after a laugh, he took his last breath and his body turn numb, Paul James Miller has fallen, the last of the Dragon Hunters had pass away.

Scarlet collapse on her kneeling position and look up to see her friend Grim on his true form.

“You look awful My Lady” said Grim

Scarlet is panting hard

“Are you waiting to take my life as well Grim?” said Scarlet

Scarlet grin behind her mask, then she try to stand up

“I guess this is the end of Kurohi” she said trying to keep her footing

“Indeed it is, May you rest in Peace Black Scarlet” said Grim knowing the true word meaning of Kurohi's name (Kuro = Black and/ Hi = Scarlet)

Scarlet lean on one side of the steel rail and falls to her death, Aron couldn’t believe his eyes, the two fighters that he watch were down, he jumps down to get to the bottom and save Scarlet, when he arrived he found her already on the ground, bleeding everywhere.

He grabs her by the shoulder trying to wake her up, she manage to open her eyes, the knife was out of her abdomen and she was bleeding to her death.

“Come on Kurohi, stay with me you are going to be fine, come on” said Aron trying to keep her conscious enough to get help

Scarlet as Kurohi shake her head

“I’m not going to make it Agent Kingston...” she coughs

“...Keep the city safe and please, find someone to help you with your evolution powers or everything you try to protect will disappeared...please” with that Kurohi fell limb on Aron’s arms

The entire team came up running, seeing that the only thing that was protecting them is already gone, Kurohi’s body started to steam as the sun came up in the sky, her body and her blood evaporate and disappeared from sight of everyone.

On the other side of the shadows Scarlet watches as Aron said his goodbyes to the fake Kurohi she created before she hit the ground, she removed her mask since now Kurohi is dead in the eyes of the world, the only one left now is Scarlet to deal with it (Everyone here knows that Scarlet and Kurohi are the same person).

Shadow came close to Scarlet and nudge her to move, but she was too weak to move, she hasn’t removed the knife from her abdominal area, she calls Nicolas to help her.

Hours later, Nicolas and Scarlet arrived at her apartment, Nicolas used wet towels and gauze, Scarlet was panting and breathing hard, also she started to have a fever that it seems that no matter how many cold towels Nicolas puts on her, the fever isn’t lowering down.

“This is bad Scarlet, we need someone with medical help, I can’t do this and if you die, how on earth I am going to tell Aron «Hey Agent Kingston guess what, your girlfriend is dead thanks to her been stubborn and refuse to go to the hospital, also did a mention that she is the Black Dragon Kurohi that everyone thought that die on the site, but was barely alive»! No thank you I rather keep my head” said Nicolas in panic

Scarlet open her eyes as they were purple iris

“Then please... call someone that might know... about this...” Scarlet pass out

Nicolas was really terrified now, he check her pulse and is getting weaker and weaker, he grabs the phone and calls out the only person that might help them

"Hello Nicolas my boy, what can I do for you?" said the voice on the phone

“Dr. Stellar, I need your help, please” Nicolas begs on the other line

“Scarlet is dying and I don’t know what to do?”said Nicolas
