Out Of The Shadows (HADES): Chapter 24

Drake didn’t feel the pain of his gunshot anymore, as he was beyond that. Nor did he feel the blood dripping from his fingertips as his arm lay useless at his side. All he could feel was the raging hatred for that damn biker and the men in the room on the other side of the wall that separated them.

He’d watched and waited. The men who were hunting him in the dark were somewhere behind him the wilderness area.

He couldn’t see Hope and that was just as well. His hatred might boil over if he laid his eyes on her right now. Drake knew he had to cool down if he hoped to best them at the game. If he didn’t, he might end up making the mistake Hades had been waiting for, and Drake had too much at stake to make a mistake now.

Drake faded back into the shadows and disappeared. He could afford to wait, but not too long. He had one more fire to set tonight and it was going to take care of all of them.

Hope lay on the bed in Hades’ room. She just woke up from sleeping. She looked over at the clock. She’d already been tenderly clean up by Hades and he even got orange juice and a bowl of Luna’s soup for her.

What had woke her?

Hades came in through the door. Spotting her sitting up, he grinned.

Her eyes locked onto him. He’d taken a shower and his hair looked damp. Wow, was this man fine. So hot. She felt her cheeks flush as she looked away. So far, all he’d done was kiss her and hold her. He chuckled. “Well, I’m glad. But this still doesn’t explain the sad part.”

Hope sighed. “Well, just look at me!”

Hades pulled back and did just that. “So?”

“So?” she scoffed. “I have my face busted up. It is not sexy in the least.”

Hades stared at her and laughed. “You are still beautiful and that will fade.”

She lowered her head. “I fought so hard for the scars on the inside to fade. To disappear and when I faced…” Her voice fell away. “When I finally faced him, my scars healed.”

Again, Hades raised her chin. “Babe, you are gorgeous.”

She pouted “So prove it.”

His eyes rounded. “What?”

She sat up and even though her hands shook, she tugged the long t-shirt off. Tossing it away, she stared at him. “Prove it.” Here goes she thought. I will see if he really does want me like I do him.

His eyes took in her bare breasts.

Hades stood up and tugged his T off. Then his hands went to his pants. He undid his jeans then rolled them and his briefs down.
