Saylor beat around the bush.

Violet gave Saylor a cross look. Then she walked up to Faye and said a few polite words. Finally, Violet said, "It's getting late. You should go to bed early. Call me whenever you have time in the next two days and I'll show you around."

Faye smiled. Her eyes fell for a second on Ethan, who was not far away. "OK," Faye responded.

"Then Saylor and I will get out of your hair."

"Drive safely on your way back."

Violet replied, "Saylor didn't drink. We'll be fine."

After Violet and Saylor left, Colin chuckled and looked at Ethan. "What happened in the Fish Restaurant when you and Violet were outside the box?"

Ethan remained calm. "Nothing happened."

Colin teased. "If nothing happened, you would be like this?"

Ethan sat on the single sofa. He leaned slightly, took his cigarette pack out of his pocket, took out a cigarette and bit it in front of his mouth. Then he spoke in a deep voice, lighting a cigarette with a lighter. "I feel like I'm destined to be a bare branch in my life."

Ethan seldom said such amusing things.

Colin was delighted to hear that. "Don't talk about branches like that."

Ethan lifted his eyelids.

"The branches would have withered by your age."

Ethan taunted. "Fuck."

Then Ethan removed the cigarette from the corner of his mouth and flicked the ash. "I'm moving into the Rowan's house tomorrow."

Colin raised his eyebrows. "Huh?"

Ethan gave a false smile. "Hector invited me to live in his house."

Ethan told Colin about meeting Hector in the bathroom.

Colin chaffed. "He turned up like a bad penny, didn't he?"

"I'm so miserable."

After talking with Ethan a few words, Colin and Faye went to the next room to have a rest.

Ethan finished a cigarette. Then he stood at the French window, looking at the night scene with his hands in his pockets.

The night scene in Lespurg was good. It didn't have as much bright lights as Cocanel. Seen from a distance, Lespurg looked blue.

It calmed the mind.

Colin had work to attend to, so he left the hotel with Faye early in the morning.

Ethan had a quick breakfast and made a phone call. Soon a man in his early forties drove Ethan to the place where the law lecture was held.

The man who picked Ethan up was Santos, a local lawyer in Lespurg. Ethan and Santos met through a lawsuit.

No discord, no concord.

After a lawsuit, Santos took the initiative to make friends with Ethan because he appreciated Ethan's professional ability.

In the car, Ethan spoke first, "Santos, thank you for this."

Santos joked as he drove. "For what? It's rare that you have anything I can do for you. It's my pleasure."

"Is your law firm busy these days?"

"Our country is enjoying a period of peace and prosperity. There aren't many lawsuits."

Ethan said flatly, "The boss of the Pinnacle Real Estate in Lespurg asked me to recommend a lawyer to him. I'll ask him to contact you later."

A smile touched the corners of Santos' mouth. "Are you afraid you owe me a favor?"

Ethan said calmly, "Friends help each other."

"Well, you treat me as a friend. Then I'll accept your kindness since I'm not fussy."

The two men spoke as the car arrived at the hotel for the law lecture.

They opened the door and got off the car. They had not taken two steps when they saw Violet and her mother Gracelyn Brooke standing not far away.

Violet accompanied Gracelyn in a decent white dress. Violet's hair was coiled to reveal her long neck. She looked gentle and quiet, which made her a heartthrob. Ethan stopped and did not go any further.

Seeing this, Santos nudged Ethan. "Is that the daughter of the Rowans? People who learn dance just have a different temperament."
