Chapter 424 False Alarm

Chapter 424 False Alarm

When Faye and Colin rushed to the ward next door, Emmett was curled up in the corner, not letting anyone approach him.

Lance stood still with red eyes. He opened his mouth several times but was unable to say a single word.

Andy stood behind him with a frown and said, "Don't get close to him."

Lance gritted his teeth and nodded.

Seeing this, the nurse hurriedly turned around and walked out. She was so anxious that she accidentally bumped into Faye at the door.

When Faye staggered, Colin pulled her into his arms.

The nurse said, "I'm sorry."

Colin said, "Never mind."

After the nurse left, Colin looked down at Faye.

She was staring at Emmett unblinkingly with her eyes full of pain and struggle.

Colin hugged her tightly and said, "Honey, don't worry. Emmett is just too scared. He will be fine."

Faye said blankly, "Why? Why has he become like this?"

She had witnessed a lot of evil things. But seeing Emmett like this made her feel unbearable.

Emmett was sitting in the corner. It would be fine if no one approached him, but as long as anyone took a step forward, he would yell like crazy.

After a while, the nurse who had just run out of the ward returned and said, "Pin him on the bed. I'll give him a sedative."

After the nurse finished speaking, she found that everyone else in the ward was looking at her in confusion, so she said anxiously, "Why are you staring at me? Pin him on the bed!" Hearing her words, Colin realized what she meant first, so he let go of Faye, strode forward, and gave Andy a wink.

Andy took his hind and stepped forward with him.

When they pressed Emmett on the bed, the latter growled hysterically. Seeing this, Lance and Faye felt heartbroken.

Emmett was soon sedated with intravenous use of sedative drugs.

The nurse sighed, "Let him rest. I'll call the doctor over right away."

Lance said, "Nurse, he'll be fine, right?"

The nurse shook her head, "I don't know. The doctor will come later. You should ask her about it."

Lance said, "Thank you."

Shortly after the nurse left, a female doctor in her forties walked in.

After she gave Emmett a general examination, she said, "There is nothing wrong with his body. After he calms down, take him to the Psychology Department on the third floor." Lance asked, "Will he be like this all the time?"

The doctor put her hands in the pockets of the white coat and said, "Judging from his reaction, I guess he had some psychological trauma. If it is not particularly serious, he will recover after a while. But if not... When she fell silent, the people present all understood what she implied.

Emmett had acted like crazy five times in a day. When he did it the sixth time, Lance gritted his teeth and slapped him in the face.

Emmett was stunned and then froze.

Lance grabbed him by the collar and said, "You're all right now! Look at me! I am Lance! And Faye is standing over there!"

Emmett's eyelids flickered before he slid down the wall. And then, he sat by the wall with his hands around his knees, gasped for breath, and muttered to himself, "It's alright. Everything is OK now. I'm rescued."

Seeing Emmett like this, Lance choked up, squatted down, hugged him, and said, "It's alright now. I am by your side."

Emmett buried his head into Lance's arms, but he didn't cry out loud. He was crying silently, trembling all over. After they had maintained this gesture for more than an hour, Emmett slowly raised his head and said, "Lance, I'm fine now."

Lance stroked his back and said, "It's okay. No one will laugh at you."

Emmett said, "But my snot is all over your chest. I don't want to hug you anymore."

Lance was speechless.

After a few seconds, Lance looked down at the sticky stuff on his clothes, kicked Emmett aside, and said, "Piss off!"

Emmett giggled so hard that tears welled out of his eyes.

Lance scolded him and turned around, saying that he was going to clean his shirt. But the moment he turned his head aside, he burst into tears.

Seeing him walk out, Andy followed up.

Emmett was still sitting on the ground, so Faye walked toward him with difficulty, crouched down, touched his head, and asked, "Are you sure you're okay now?"

Emmett raised his hand to wipe the tears off his face and said, "Faye, I was scared to death."

Faye replied, "We will go to see a psychiatrist later."

Emmett sniffed and said, "Yes, I need to see a psychiatrist! Those people are perverts."

Faye asked, "What did they do to you?"

Emmett shook his head. "They didn't do anything weird to me. They just starved and beat me. But..."

Hearing him stammering, Faye instantly felt nervous and said, "What?"

Emmett looked as if he were going to vomit and said, "Then they dissected the dead boxer in front of me..." When he finished speaking, he retched.
