Chapter 390 The Unexpected Murderer

Chapter 390 The Unexpected Murderer

Colin Farrell hadn't seen Old Mr. Farrell for more than half a month.

When York Blake finished speaking, Colin looked up and mocked, "How is grandfather doing recently?"

York, "He's doing okay."

Hearing this, Colin showed imperceptible sarcasm in his eyes. He turned his head, exchanged looks with Faye Nash, and then looked at Tiffany Shaw, "Mom, I go see grandfather first."

Tiffany smiled gently, "Go ahead and take your time to talk with your grandpa."

Colin nodded, stood up and went upstairs.

Colin was followed closely by York.

After walking away for a while, York said in a low voice, "Old Mr. Farrell is at death's door. He would pass away in just a couple of days."

Colin raised his eyebrows lightly and asked like he knew nothing, "Didn't the doctor say that he could at lease live until next spring?"

York pretended that he didn't understand, "Old Mr. Farrell has been in a bad mood since Maxwell Camden was back."

Colin sneered, "Oh!"

A few minutes later, Colin went into Old Mr. Farrell's bedroom.

Just as York said, Old Mr. Farrell was at death's door.

Old Mr. Farrell sat on the bed with his back leaning against the headboard, and he was so thin that others couldn't recognize him. The clothes he usually wore looked loose and baggy, as if they were not his.

"You're home."

Old Mr. Farrell said in an aged and hoarse voice.

Colin looked around, walked to the window and opened it narrowly. After that, he took a chair and sat down in front of Old Mr. Farrell, "You asked to see me?"

Old Mr. Farrell gasped for a while, "Have you seen Maxwell?"

Colin, "Yes."

Old Mr. Farrell, "Do you think he's Brandon Farrell's son?"

Colin leaned back in the chair and smiled casually, "This is really a difficult question to me."

Seeing Colin's expression of no care, Old Mr. Farrell closed his eyes, "I know what you're thinking of. You're thinking that Maxwell is here for the Farrell family and it has nothing to do with you, aren't you?" Colin teased, "Isn't it right?"

Old Mr. Farrell took a deep breath, "Yes, it is."

Colin looked down and touched the bell on his wrist with his fingertips. Hearing the silvery sound of the bell, he put on a vague smiled.

Knowing that he was running out of time, Old Mr. Farrell stared at Colin for a few seconds with his dim-sighted eyes, and said in a deep voice, "How about I trade something with you?"

Colin looked up and sneered, "Grandfather, you're still scheming even at this moment."

Old Mr. Farrell detected the sarcasm in Colin's words, but he said calmly, "I can't let the ancestral legacy be ruined because of me."

Colin naturally opened his legs slightly, took out a cigarette from his pocket and put it in his mouth. Without lighting it, he said, "Didn't you ask for the opinions of our ancestors before you schemed against your blood brother back then?"

Old Mr. Farrell, "..."

Ever since Colin fell out with Old Mr. Farrell, he didn't pretend to be obedient anymore. What he said kept provoking Old Mr. Farrell.

Old Mr. Farrell couldn't say anything against him. He clenched the sheet with his hand on the quilt, "Didn't you always want to know about Shepard Nash's death? I'll tell you all."

Colin's eyes suddenly looked atrocious, and he looked into Old Mr. Farrell's eyes.

Old Mr. Farrell tried his best to adjust his breathing, "Compared to the ancestral legacy of the Farrell family, that scandal is nothing."

Colin narrowed his eyes, "Do you want to trade this with me?"

Old Mr. Farrell, "You will agree."

After finished speaking, Old Mr. Farrell looked like he could see through Colin, and said word by word, "For Faye's sake, I believe you will definitely agree." Colin bit the cigarette butt in his mouth. After a few seconds, he took out a lighter from his pocket and lit the cigarette, "Tell me, what do you want me to do?" Hearing this, Old Mr. Farrell's cloudy old eyes sparkled, "You agree?"

Colin exhaled the smoke, "Didn't you guess it already?"

Old Mr. Farrell was overjoyed, but he then showed a little disappointment, "In the entire Farrell family, you are the most promising son. But unfortunately, you are too..." Before Old Mr. Farrell could finish speaking, Colin said coldly, "I have limited patience. You'd better speak quickly before I regret it."

After that, Colin sneered, "You'd better say something that I don't know. Otherwise, I'm afraid I can't make this deal with you."

Old Mr. Farrell coughed, and his breath was erratic, "Don't worry, what I'm about to say is definitely something you don't know."

After that, Old Mr. Farrell was lost in memory.

What happened to Shepard back then was a blot of the Farrell family.

Old Mr. Farrell had been hiding it for a lifetime, but in the end the secret had to be made public.

Old Mr. Farrell smiled mockingly, and no one knew whether he was laughing at himself or at fate, "I think you two have already knew the affair of Tiffany and Shepard." Colin, "Yes."

Old Mr. Farrell sighed with relief and said, "I actually acquiesced in what happened between the two of them back then."

Colin blinked and looked at Old Mr. Farrell with a meaningful eye expression.

Avoiding Colin's stare, Old Mr. Farrell continued, "I asked Shepard to seduce Tiffany, because at that time Tiffany suspected that I had annexed the Shaw family's property, and was investigating me secretly..." Old Mr. Farrell showed people how thirsty a person could be towards power.

In order to make his position stable and to gain a firm foothold for the Farrell family in Cocanel, he did not hesitate to kill his blood brother, to harm his friends, and even to let the housekeeper seduce his daughter-in-law.

Was it disgusting?

It was indeed disgusting.

But this was true human nature.

Some people would do unethical things by any means in order to take shortcuts.

After saying this, Old Mr. Farrell paused and took a deep breath.

Colin looked at him, "As far as I know, Shepard Nash loved his wife very much. How could he agree to do that for you?"

Old Mr. Farrell sneered, "He loved his wife very much?"

Colin's eyes were deep, "Didn't he?"

Old Mr. Farrell, "The Shepard Nash I know was a mercenary and a villain."

Colin, "..."

When Old Mr. Farrell finished his words, Colin didn't speak. Seeing this, Old Mr. Farrell continued, "I asked Shepard to hook up with Tiffany, and then designed a plot to catch adultery in the act. Sure enough, after that, Tiffany became at my beck and call and naively thought I did everything for her good."

Colin, "Who was responsible for Shepard Nash's car accident back then? Was it you or Tiffany Shaw?"

Old Mr. Ferrell shook his head, "Neither."

Colin frowned, "Then who did that?"

Old Mr. Ferrell, "It's Faye's mother, Daisy Kemp."
