My Fair Stunner novel (Faye and Colin)
Chapter 365 Nature of Love

Chapter 365 Nature of Love

Faye was trembling all over when Colin carried her downstairs.

Her stomach was empty due to retching and she felt torn with spasms.

Jake followed behind them and opened the car door for them. Watching Colin gingerly put Faye into the passenger seat, Jake asked with a frown, "Are you sure you're all right?" Faye slightly pressed her lips and forced a smile with difficulty. "I'm fine."

Colin put his hand on the back of her neck to massage it and then bowed to kiss her forehead. He asked in a soft voice, "Shall I take you back?"

Faye clenched her hands and replied, "Okay."

Watching their interaction, Jake realized that he didn't need to stay. He reached out and patted Colin's back.

Colin got his implication. He closed the door to the passenger seat and then turned around.

Jake glanced into the car at Faye and said in a voice that could only be heard by himself and Colin, "Pay more attention to her mood after going back. Don't let her go to the company today." Colin asked gloomily, "Is there any other treatment for her illness?"

Jake replied honestly, "None."

Colin raised another question, "How long will this treatment take?"

Jake answered, "Until she can completely accept her past."

He paused and then added, "Mr. Farrell, do you feel sorry for her when seeing her current looks?"

Colin tightened her jaw, pondering what Jake was implicating.

Jake forced a smile and continued, "But you didn't see how miserable she looked when she went to the scene of that car accident."

Colin remained silent.

Jake continued, "Otherwise, you'll get crazy."

Jake was smiling when he said those words, but his eyes were filled with sadness.

Colin was still silent. Jake smiled and said, "Be good to her."

Then he turned around and left.

Colin suddenly called out to him, "Dr. Thomas."

Jake turned around confusedly and asked, "What's the matter?"

Colin's eyes looked unfathomable. He asked, "Did she do those things for me?"

Jake didn't answer this question. He chuckled and asked, "What do you think?"

Colin's breath quickened. He didn't reply.

Jake chuckled when he found Colin was stiff. He asked, "What's wrong with you? Are you guilty?"

Colin remained silent.

Jake took off his wire-rimmed glasses, pinched his glabellar, and said in a deep voice, "You don't have to feel guilty. If you love a person, you'll do anything for her. This is the nature of love." Colin asked in a lowered voice, "Can we give up the treatment?"

Jake replied honestly, "Of course. Faye is very self-controlled. There won't be any problem as long as she doesn't receive fierce stimulation. But..."

Jake stammered and gazed at Colin meaningfully.

Colin knitted his brows and asked, "What do you want to say?"

Jake ridiculed, "The most prominent characteristic of Faye's illness is strong possessiveness. The longer she stays by your side, the more she loves you. She'll take you as her res privata. Are you sure that you can tolerate this?"

Colin replied in a firm voice, "Of course."

Jake shook his head smilingly and said, "You've fallen in love for only a short period. You may keep the novelty for one or two years. So, of course, you think you can tolerate it now. But what about three years later? Or five years, ten years, or even twenty years later? Her love will only suffocate you."

Colin felt turbulent and painful inside. He said firmly, "It won't."

Jake replied, "Leave these words to Faye. It's useless to tell me this or convince me. After all, I'm not gay."

Colin's upset mood dissipated when he heard Jake's words. He squinted at Jake and retorted, "Don't think too much."

Jake sneered, "You're not my cup of tea."

He put on his glasses after finishing the words. Then he turned around, waved at Colin, and left in strides.

Colin stood on the spot. Several minutes later, he walked to the door to the driver's seat, opened the door, and got into the car.

Faye smiled when she saw Colin. "Did Jake go back?" asked she.

Colin also smiled at her, looking as usual, and replied, "Yep."

Then he turned the steering wheel and asked, "What would you like for lunch?"

Gazing at Colin's side face, Faye subconsciously sank her nails into her palms and called his name, "Colin."

Colin raised his brows and glanced at Faye, asking, "What's the matter?"

Faye replied, "I don't want to go home."

Colin secretly took a deep breath and asked in a pretended relieved voice, "Are you worried that aunt will find out something?"

Faye answered, "Yep."

Faye randomly tapped the steering wheel and asked teasingly, "Get a room in the hotel?"

Faye shifted her eyes to look out of the window and agreed, "Okay."

Colin drove the car slowly. This time, he didn't hold Faye's hand.

It was because he knew she needed to stay alone now.

Colin parked the car after arriving at the hotel and the two got out of the car.

They checked in at the reception and then took an elevator upstairs. Faye curled her lips into a smile when she found Colin was deliberately keeping a distance away from her. She comforted him, "I'm fine." Colin bowed his head and looked into her eyes, saying, "I think you're disgusted with men now."

Faye took a breath and answered, "Not that extreme."

Colin smiled, not taking her alienation to his heart at all, and asked, "Would you like to go for a drink?"

Faye's eyes lit up. She asked, "May I?"

Colin laughed and said, "Of course."

They walked out of the elevator, swiped the card to open the door, and walked into the room. Colin took off his jacket, tossed it onto the sofa, and tugged at his necktie, "I'm not your husband today. Just take me as a friend."

Faye didn't reply.

Colin who was untying his necktie paused in his movements. He tutted and asked, "As your friend, isn't this action too erotic?"
