Chapter 269 Compromise

Faye hit the nail on the head, so Colin's heart skipped a beat.

When they looked at each other, Colin licked his molars without saying a word.

After a few seconds, Faye changed into her slippers, entered the living room, and walked straight to him.

Colin looked up, while Faye looked down.

With a mischievous smile on his face, he reached out and tried to hold her hand.

Faye looked down at him and quietly avoided his hand.

The smile on his face froze, and he pursed his thin lips hard.

She said, "Are you going to tell me the truth now?"

Colin kept silent, retracted his hand, leaned back slightly, and took out a cigarette from his pocket. When he was about to light it, a slender and fair-skinned hand reached out and snatched it away. And then, she crushed it before his eyes.

Colin's legs were naturally spread when he looked up at her.

After crushing the cigarette, Faye curled her fingers and said, "Colin."

Colin sighed helplessly, reached out to grab her wrist, and pulled her forward.

Faye hadn't expected him to pull her again, so she was caught off guard, staggered, and slammed into his arms.

Colin held her, let her sit on his lap, stretched out a hand to rub her hindneck, and said, "Are you mad at me?"

Faye pursed her lips in silence.

Colin asked in a low voice, "Are you worried about me?"

Faye's fingertips trembled when she asked, "What the hell happened?"

Colin glanced greedily at her eyes and asked, "How did you know I am going to have an open break with the Farrells?"

Faye took a deep breath and answered truthfully, "I saw Lance."

Lance was Hank's man but was in Colin's car now. There were only two possibilities. One, he had defected. Two, he had plotted against Colin but had been caught.

Lance and Hank had a very deep friendship, so the former must not have betrayed the latter.

Therefore, only the second possibility was left.

Hearing this, Colin chuckled, "Just because you saw Lance?"

Faye said, "You had been away from home for two days. According to your way of doing things, you should have dealt with all the things that should be dealt with before coming back. I took a glance at Lance and saw no obvious injury on his face just now. I guess you must have reached some agreement with Hank, so you didn't beat him. Therefore, after you returned to Cocanel, you should have let him go. But you brought him home and let Andy watch him. So, I guess something must have happened on the way back, and it angered you and incited you to make up your mind to take this opportunity to have an open break with the Farrells."

Faye's analysis was clear and logical, and there was almost no deviation from the actual situation.

Colin teased, "Maybe I just kidnapped Lance to fall out with Hank?"

Faye said with a half-smile, "You won't need a third person to act as the fuse if you just want to fall out with him."

Colin joked, "Honey, you're so smart!"

Now, Colin couldn't hide it no matter how hard he tried, so he could only briefly explain it to her while evading the crucial points.

Even so, after hearing what had happened during the past two days, Faye frowned with lingering fears.

Seeing the worry in her eyes, Colin smirked and changed the subject, asking, "Honey, have you missed me these two days?" Faye asked calmly, "When are you going to the old mansion?"

Colin replied, "I missed you very much."

Faye snapped, "Colin!"

Colin replied, "Yes?"

Faye looked at him unblinkingly and said, "Don't try to change the subject! You know me well! This will not work on me."

Hearing this, Colin smirked. When he was about to say something, Faye suddenly leaned forward and kissed the corner of his lips, saying, "I missed you." Colin froze for a while, and then, the smile on his face instantly become bigger.

Faye said, "I can't let you go to the old mansion alone."

Colin took her hand and entwined his fingers with hers, saying, "Aren't you afraid my grandfather will vent his anger on you?"

Faye shook her hand, "No."

Colin sighed, "There's nothing I can do about you."

When Colin and Faye came out of the villa hand in hand, Andy and Lance shrank their necks at the same time, pretending not to see. When they got into the car, they couldn't continue to pretend any longer, so they greeted Faye.

Andy said with a straight face, "Hello, Ms. Nash."

Lance said with a smirk, "Hello, Ms. Nash."

Faye replied softly, "Hello. Andy, please start the car."

After they arrived at the old mansion of the Farrells, Andy parked the car, grabbed Lance by the collar, and followed Colin and Faye inside.

Andy's steps were big, and Lance felt uncomfortable being dragged forward by him, so he said, "Andy, we've arrived. You don't need to grab me anymore. I won't try to run away."

Andy continued walking as if he had not heard anything.

As soon as they entered the door, they saw Abbot with a battered face.

One of his cheeks was slightly swollen, and there was blood on the corner of his mouth. His jacket must have been thrown away somewhere, and his shirt was wrinkled. And he had rolled up the sleeves to his elbows.

Seeing Colin entering the door, Abbot winked at him.

Colin understood his hint and greeted Old Mr. Farrell as usual.

Old Mr. Farrell was very angry with Abbot, but when he saw Colin, he immediately laughed with rage, "I thought it would be over after Abbot kicked up a stink in the Farrells. It turns out he is just an appetizer. You're the main course, right?"
