Chapter Three

Hailey’s POV

I opened my eyes to an unfamiliar room. It was a huge bedroom with walls in all shades of blue. The bed was a massive four poster, fit for a king. The pillows and comforter were also in a beautiful shade of blue and felt so soft to touch. Overall this felt like a dream and I was not at all happy about the new environment.

Getting out of the bed I felt a bit dizzy and sat back. A flask of water was on the bedside which I grabbed and chugged in two gulps. After feeling a tad better I opened the door of the room, revealing a long huge hallway.

Hushed voices were heard below and my fear kicked in. Why would someone kidnap me of all people and what would they do to me. My mind filled with these negative thoughts when, curiously and scared to the unknown scents I walked down the stairs following the voices which lead to the living room. On the couch, which was in the middle of a huge room, sat two boys whose back were facing me.

As if on cue they turned to look at me. I held a gasp as I saw them in full view. They looked like Greek gods. They had toned muscles not like a body builder but nonetheless. I reached my mouth shyly to check if there was any drool there.

One of them stood at a height 6′4. He had jet black hair with dark brown eyes. He had nice tan skin almost golden. Boyish features such that would have girls fall at his feet. He was wearing a white V-neck t-shirt that showed his toned body and black skinny jeans along with a pair of black sneakers. He had a wall of power around him which was why I assumed he was the alpha.

“See something you like, huh?” he asked, in his deep sexy voice. This made the rats in my stomach have a marathon.

I looked down because my cheeks felt hot as blood rushed to them. They sniggered at my blushing which only made me turn more red.

The alpha stepped forward and reached out his hand to me.

Timidly I extended my small palm in his huge hand. I looked at him and saw him starting back at me. I couldn’t leave his gaze. It was as if he was keeping me in a trance. Then suddenly someone cleared their throat and both of us snapped out of our gaze and I blushed profusely.

The other Guy was standing at a height of 6′2 and he had deep brown eyes that held warmth and comfort. He had a pale complexion and his pout lips were just so kissable. Okay that was way off track. He was wearing blue skinny jeans with a black button up shirt. He extended his hand and said,

“I’m Nate Dawson, Beta of this pack. Welcome.”

I shyly nodded.

“Wow aren’t you just a cutie!” Liam commented.

“So what’s your name little girl?” Nate asked.

I got a bit angry that he referred to me as a little girl. I mean did I look little. But I kept it to myself and smiled,

“My name is Hailey Johnson.”

“And Hailey may I ask why you are so far away from your pack?”

Before I could reply, the door burst open and three boys ran in and stopped when they saw me.

“Well well what have we here?”

The boy who said this was 6 feet tall with light brown hair sticking out in all directions but still looked good. He had a pale yet slight tanned skin. His green eyes held humor as he checked me out; His lips turned into a smirk which spread across his gorgeous face. He was wearing a red t-shirt with khaki pants; he had a lean muscular body.

I blushed at his comment.

He introduce himself, “Hi I’m Ethan Grand and these two suckers are Kevin Fayne and Tyler Reed”.

The one called Kevin had black brown hair that fell on his eyes. He was 6′1 and had beautiful hazel eyes. His skin was golden brown. He had a broad jaw line and a lean body with muscles in all the right places, covered by his red cargo shorts and grey V-neck t-shirt.

Tyler was more of a boy than the rest. He had dark brown shoulder length hair. He had baby blue eyes with a very cute face and lean, less toned body than the others but it suited him. He was wearing dark green shirt with light blue baggy jeans.

All in all there stood five hot guys in front of me. And my eyes couldn’t handle so many sexy guys in just one day. My heart was beating in full swing and my palms got sweaty. But no matter what I couldn’t keep my eyes of them, especially Liam.

“If you are done checking us out, not that I mind can we get down to business.” said Nate as he smirked at Liam and then looked back at me.

I nodded as words failed to leave my mouth. They gestured me to sit on the couch with Nate and Liam beside me and Tyler on the recliner. Kevin and Ethan occupied the floor.

Taking a deep breath I blurted out my life of the past three years after my parents died. As soon I started every hurtful memory came back. I just couldn’t stop and a part of me felt light that I finally got someone to talk to and vent out my feelings. My mind kept telling me to stop and not tell my entire history to some random boys but my heart just wanted to get it all out. After that I broke down and Liam held me to his chest as I soaked his t-shirt which I guess didn’t bother him.

After I had calmed down I looked up and they all had grim faces coveted in anger and frustration.

“How could they do this to you,” Liam muttered.

“I feel like going and tearing their limbs right now,” added Nate

I was overwhelmed with their over protectiveness. I barely knew them in fact I didn’t know them at all but in my heart I felt this strange feeling that made me trust them instantly.

“Its okay I don’t want to go back I just want to start new so as to forget the past.” I whispered as Liam squeezed my hand.

“Hell yes sweetie that’s what we are here for, what say Ethan,” Kevin yelled.

“You bet brother, Hailey you have us five who solemnly swear to take care of you.” he stated while putting his hand on in chest as if saying an oath. His face was so comical that I bursted out laughing and Kevin tackled him to the ground. As strange as it is I believed them.

“You must be hungry Hailey, do you want to eat something” Liam asked sweetly.

“Yea I would like that. How long was I out?” I asked casually.

Nate reluctantly answered, “For nearly a week.

I was beyond shocked but guess I was just damn tired and shifting always took a toll on me. I shrugged and Liam pulled me towards the kitchen. I don’t know him but there was this unfamiliar attraction towards him and I shivered when he held my hand.

“I don’t know how some one could reject you Hailey, you are so beautiful” he said softly while stroking my cheek. It burned due to his touch and I felt shivers down my spine. I just couldn’t stop blushing around him and I bet he saw that. Suddenly my mind filled with images of Zach and his angry face making my wolf cover in fear. Why did I even think of him, I needed to forget him and maybe start again. I looked at Liam realizing maybe he could be my future. With that, I pushed every thought of Zach away, even tough it hurt to do so, but it was for the best. My wolf didn’t reply but also didn’t make an attempt to stop me.

After eating and chatting with them and laughing to Tyler’s stupid jokes and Ethan and Kevin’s fight I stretched and yawned. Liam led me to the room I was in before.

“Go have a shower I’ll get you some clothes.” He said sweetly and smiling at me with those cute dimples.

I thanked him and entered the bathroom. It was huge and was tiled with dark blue tiles. I step in the shower and let the warm water cascade down my body. It felt good and refreshing. I quickly washed my hair with shampoo and washed my body and then stepped out and dried myself.

I walked back into the room and saw an over-sized t-shirt and boxers on the bed. I dressed and was about to lie down on the bed when Liam entered,

“I knew you would rock in my clothes. You look hot,” He chuckled.

I blushed and stared at my feet, how could he make me blush so much? It was so embarrassing.

“Hailey you can take my room, because there is no free room right now in the pack house. You can take the bed I’ll sleep on the couch.” He said pointing at a small recliner at the far end of the room. It looked too small and uncomfortable to sleep in. I felt bad for invading his room after all he did for me.

“Its okay, sleep on the bed its big enough for both of us.” I said realizing it must have sounded weird to him. I blushed and bit my lip wanting him to laugh or crack a smile.

“Are you sure Hailey, I don’t wanna make you uncomfortable.” He said in genuine concern and my heart melted.

“No problem. I besides I have already asked too much of you guys and now I am taking up your room. So please sleep on the bed.”

“Nah don’t mention it.” He smiled and I gulp hard. That smile just made my knees weak.

We got into bed and I lay down near him not touching him. It was cold and an involuntary shiver spread through my body. He noticed this and pulled me towards his warm body. I froze for a second but relaxed and snuggled closer to him. It felt odd and wrong but I knew I had to move on. This was my fate and I needed to do something good for myself. I had to forget my past and look ahead for a better future.

“Feeling better?” He whispered in my ear, his hot breathe fanning my face. I nodded as my mouth suddenly felt dry. He chuckled and I felt his chest shake because of it. I blushed but thank heaven he couldn’t see my face in the dark.

Liam sighs,“goodnight Hailey,”

“Goodnight.” I whispered, thinking of only Zach and how I stilled loved him. This made me tired and angry that I could never hate him even if I wanted. I closed my eyes willing myself to sleep as Zach’s beautiful face filled my head.

“Ouch that hurts!” I mumbled.

I woke up to a stinging and burning sensation on my shoulder. As I touched it, it got worse and tears welled up in my eyes. My skin on my neck felt so raw, as if something was eating it away. It hurt so bad but I stopped my screams as I saw Liam sleeping near me soundly. I got up to go to the bathroom when the pain intensified and I screamed not able to hold it any longer.

I fell down on the floor when Liam got up with a start and ran towards me. He cupped my face; a scared and worried expression on his face. It felt like a burning hot iron rod was pressed on my skin. My eyes blurred as the tears fell non stop.

“Make it stop Liam, please.” I begged.

“Tell me what’s wrong Hailey! god your scaring me.” Liam screamed, his voice laced with fear and worry.

“Aaaaahhhh! Liam my shoulder, it burns so badly,” I said through my sobs.

He quickly moved the t-shirt from my shoulder and stared as if he had seen a ghost. I wanted to ask him what was happening but I screamed again as another wave of pain took over. I glance down and saw a huge black burn was forming on my shoulder eating away my skin.

“Oh my god this can’t be happening.” He stated worriedly.

“What are you talking about?” I questioned him, angry that he wasn’t telling me the cause of my pain. I gritted my teeth as the pain got worse.

“I’m so sorry Hailey you don’t deserve this.“He said as he wiped away my tears.

“Your Mate has mated with someone else.”

Hearing that I passed out as the pain on my shoulder got worse but mostly because the pain in my heart became unbearable.
