Just as Shirley teetered on the edge of losing her composure, she abruptly detected an imposing presence emanating from the girl before her. A chill ran down her spine, prompting an instinctive step backward.

Persephone smiled, yet her eyes exuded an icy demeanor. She took a deliberate step forward and said, "My friend and I are heading to the shopping mall now. Do you still intend to stop us?" Shirley breathed heavily and glared at her fiercely.

"Also, there's something I'd like to make clear." Persephone displayed no hint of fear. "I don't know what issue you have with Wynn, but everyone has the right to live life on their terms. I respect his choices, and I'm willing to be his friend. That's none of your concern. I don't need you dictating my actions! If I catch you being rude to him again, I won't let you off easily!"

Her assertiveness stunned Shirley.

She had assumed the girl Kourtney had handed over to Morpheus to be weak, never expecting her to be quite resilient. Now infuriated, she hurled insults, "You all are a bunch of garbage that sticks together! I could smell the disgusting, cheap powder on your foolish face from miles away!"

"You're absolutely correct." Persephone chuckled. "I think the cosmetics Wynn uses are subpar as well. I planned to go shopping and buy him some! I might not know much, but I'm familiar with the expensive brands! Let's go, Wynn!"

She sneered this time, gripping Wynn's hand as they walked past Shirley with their heads held high.

Even at a distance, they could hear Shirley's outburst.

After covering some ground, Wynn released Persephone's hand. He wore a grateful yet concerned expression. "Sephy, you've offended Kourtney's girl. I'm afraid..."

"Why worry?" Persephone was unafraid of trouble. "She bullied me, yet we're not allowed to fight back?"

"I just don't want complications for you and Morpheus."

"Don't worry!" She grabbed him, giggling. "Didn't you mention how powerful his fists are? He'll handle it if anything happens!"

Wynn smiled but remained silent, his eyes betraying a hint of seriousness.

Feeling uneasy under his gaze, she stammered, "W-What are you looking at?"

"You've changed."

"What?"

"You're relying on him more and more, aren't you?" He grinned. "You'll have him handle everything while you become the woman behind him, right?" Persephone blushed, at a loss for words.

"Let's get going!" She awkwardly lowered her head. "The malls will close if we don't hurry!"

Wynn followed. He intended to lead her to a mid-range shopping mall, but Persephone spotted the dazzling lights of a high-end mall in the distance and charged ahead.

It was the most luxurious shopping destination, attracting the wealthy from the five bordering provinces. The lights alone exuded an intimidating sophistication. Wynn had never dared to venture in.

But Persephone boldly entered without hesitation.

"Hey, Sephy!" Unable to stop her, he chased after her. "We're not going to this one... Come back!"
