Cornelia approached Clair and Natalia “My boss wants to have a one on one with Natalia What do you guys think?”

Cornelia gave a polite smile Are you questioning my honesty? Or do you not want Natalia to meet with President Hartley?” 

This young chick, though green behind the ears, had a sharp tongue. One wrong step, and you’d fall into her trap 

Clair had no time to overthink. She’d rather be fooled than risk losing the opportunity for her daughter to meet Marcus.

Cornelia lightly tapped her forehead, “You’re not as dumb as you look. Why do you always screw up?” 

Natalia yelped, “Ouch…” 

Comelia asked, “Where does it hurt?” 

Natalia replied, “No, it’s just that you poked me and it hurt a bit.”

Natalia nodded. 

Cornelia asked, “Does your family want you to have some sort of connection with Marcus?” 

Natalia nodded again. 

Cornelia continued, “And what about you?” 

Natalia was silent for a long while before she slowly said, “My life goal is to become Marcus‘ wife. If I can’t strive for that, I don’t know what else my life would mean.”
