“You think it’s not a big deal?” Dr. Dawson raised her voice emotionally, “Tve been looking after him since he was a lot. It’s been over twenty years. I’ve spent more time with him than his own parents ever did. I was the one who took him to school on his first day, I was the one by his side when he was sick. For the past twenty years, wherever he went, I was there. I’ve had no personal time because of him.” 

Dr. Dawson went on a rant, and Jayden looked at her, calmly replying, “Were you forced to do all that?”

Jayden continued, “I know you’re a top–notch doc, and lots of hospitals would kill to have you, but think about it, would you make more bucks working elsewhere than at President Hartley’s? You’re earning big money working for President Hartley Isn’t that fair? If you find the job too exhausting, you can quit. No one’s stopping you. I bet there are tons of people who would jump at the chance to do it.” 

Dr. Dawson pointed at Jayden angrily, “You think I’ve been by President Hartley’s side all these years for the dough?” 

Jayden replied, “If it’s not for the money, then it’s to pay a debt of gratitude? If it’s the latter, you should be willingly do anything for President Hartley. It doesn’t matter how he sees us. Our lives were saved by him, we would’ve been long gone if not for him.”

Jayden paused, then said, “Mom, do you know why Patricia was able to serve two generations of the Hartley family? Do you know why President Hartley respects Patricia as if she were his elder? It’s because Patricia knows her place. Even if President Hartley treats Patricia as family, Patricia never asks for more, nor does she think that after taking care of President Hartley for so many years, he should see her as his mom.”
