Humayre: The Chronicles of Ronin Wilder

Ronin Wilder, a boy with claws and a wicked sniffer is on a mission to find out who his real parents are while trying to stop a murderous psychopath from destroying his new found home. Not long after Ronin's arrival to BrightWood Academy he is told that his parents were not who he thinks they were. In a quest to ascertain the truth about his parents, and himself, Ronin inadvertently uncovers a plot to destroy BrightWood. To make matters worse, Ronin almost disembowels one of his classmates, and it wasn’t an accident. After meeting with an Ancient, a being from a parallel dimension, Ronin learns that the only person who knows the truth about his parents and the Raqshen, or darkness consuming him, is Raven, the very man trying to destroy BrightWood. In the end Ronin must make a choice. He can help Raven and in return learn how to control the Raqshen, or stop Raven and risk becoming a monster.
