teacher. Show what you can do and if your partner can’t keep up with you, then let the trainers do what they’re supposed to do. Ck?” Ca ssle has been trying to cheer me up, but nothing is working.

I can’t eat and I barely speak to anyone. I’m just so caught up in my head about everything that I thought I did wrong. Everything that I could have shown them and didn’t because I was too worried about being a team player.

“Jer ry, what are you doing?” I shriek. I don’t notice that the entire mess hall is looking at us, including the trainers. All I

notice is that Jer ry has me straddling him and his tickling the f uck out of me.

I scream with laughter, unable to stop it. How the hell did he know exactly where I was ticklish? He stares at me while I’m squirming on top of him, laughing his as s off. But there’s also a darkness in his eyes and it isn’t long before I feel him start to stir beneath me.

The second that I’m outside, Ray grabs me and slams my back into the wall next to the door. It probably would have hurt, but he cups my head and puts his other hand on my back so that his hands take the brunt of the pain and I’m cradled in his arms.

“Jer ry? That was just my friend trying to make me feel better about my low ranking today,” I say, not understanding why he’s

away from me, spinning around wiping his hand over his face.

turns to the left. There are just as many rooms on this side, but it’s easy to tell that they are only occupied by one wolf as opposed to the four to a room on the other side.

We make it to his room and he pulls out a key and unlocking his door.

Once inside, Ray doesn’t give me time to look around. He throws me on his bed and then covers my b*dy with his. His k*sses are fierce and possessive and I completely lose myself in them. “Your ranking. It’s going to change when you look today. Those last night were just the preliminary rankings. That’s what the trainers do. They just score on the skill of the day and post the ranking. At dinner, all the trainers discuss other things to

rank you on. Leadership skills, care for your squadmates, ability to take criticism, things like that. The real rankings will be on the board when you get out there this morning. And your ranking, in particular, will be much, much higher.”

I stare at him with my mouth wide open. “W-w-why? Why would they do that?”

“To separate those that think that they aren’t good enough from the ones that are actually willing to do the work. You’ll see.

There will be some people missing at roll call today.”
