Gone (Book Two of the Dark Lycans Series)
Chapter Twenty: Cold Revenge

I close my eyes and take in a deep breath. When they open again, they are hard and cold, just like they should be. I didn't care if Blake was my mate, killing one of your animals and nearly killing another is even more painful than losing your mate.

I was going to kill him for what he has done, he is losing control of his Lycan and he needs to be put down before any more damage is done.

Shade wipes away her tears and stands up. I watch as her hands clench into fists and she yells into the darkness.

"Abelardus ite extra," she hissed. Her tiger jumped up and ran as Shade swung up onto his back.

"Raven, take Zelda and the kit back to our mothers. Then join me at the exit to the mountain!" She yelled over Abelardus' roar. I stand up, holding the dead kit in my arms, and give her a firm nod. She turned back to Abelardus and gave him another command.

"Invenire Blake!" She commanded and took off out of the tunnel. I faintly hear a metal door opening far off, and Shade's happy shriek. My eyebrow shot up in confusion, until I hear her say something else.

"Calypso invenire Blake," she says, joy in her voice. I smiled when I realized that Abelardus had led her to Shade's cheetah. I started laughing when I heard her let out a quiet yelp, Someone forgot that Calypso and Zelda are even faster than a normal cheetah.

My face turns to stone once again when I remember the orders she gave me. I carried the kit to Zelda, who crouched down so I could get onto her back.

"Ad incolumem locus," I commanded her. She chirped before taking off through the tunnels. My jaw clenched tightly as I looked at the cheetah kit. Blood stained its fur, and I saw where Blake had torn open its shoulder and throat.

"It didn't even stand a chance," I sighed. Zelda skidded to a halt in front of the silver door. I put in the code and walked inside after stroking my cheetah's head.

She purred and followed me into the bunker. My mother and aunt were talking in the kitchen, and immediately stopped when they heard me. The dead cub hung limply in my arms, an blood soaked my sports bra and shorts.

They covered their mouths as they gasped, and I watched as tears ran down their faces.

"What did this?" Lily hiccuped between sobs. I carried the cheetah into the medical room, and laid it down onto the examination table.

"My mate," I hissed through gritted teeth. Lily rubbed my back as my mother began to perform an autopsy on the kit.

"He is losing control over his Lycan, he needs to be able to roam around," Lily said.

"Why aren't Shade and I like that?"

"You grew up here, you are used to confined spaces, also Shade's Lycan is more protective than destructive. Although yours is angry and blood-thirsty, your training with the Hunters is helping you to control it," she explained.

"Finally a good use for it," I mumbled.

"She died from loss of blood," my mother said finishing her examination. Her eyes were still red from crying, and more tears threatened to spill. I shook my head and clenched my jaw in anger.

To die from loss of blood was extremely painful, and slow. I yelled in frustration and slammed a fist into the wall. My hand broke through it, leaving a gaping hole in the metal. I was too upset to be shocked, and Lily and May were too busy trying to find a calming vaccine to notice.

I could feel my Lycan trying to take over as I ran out of the room, and back into the tunnels.

"Ad introitum!" I shouted to Zelda behind me. She growled and ran past me. I latched my hands onto her fur and she tore through the tunnels. We tumbled out of the tunnel to see the funniest thing on earth.

"Little help here?" Shade asked from the ground. Calypso was laying on top of her, looking quite content.

"Nope, sorry." I feel my anger temporarily subside as I laugh at Shade. She opened her mouth to protest, when I rolled my eyes and walked over to her cheetah. I grabbed onto her scruff and heaved her off of Shade.

I kept on laughing, clutching my stomach at how hard it was to breathe. I like Calypso! I thought. I felt Shade punch my leg.

"Hey! I just helped you like you asked," I said failing miserably at an attempt to control my amusement. She rolled her eyes and stood up, brushing the dirt from her pants. Her face turned serious, and she looked at the ground.

"So how did go when you....you know.....gave them the body?" she said carefully, giving me a side-glance.

"I tell you later," I told her, all of my amusement gone once again when I remembered what happened just a few minutes ago. Shade looks at Calypso, who licks her lips sleepily.

"What?" she asked her uncomfortably. The cheetah just rolled her eyes and rested her head on her paws. She shakes her head and looks back to me.

"The sooner we find Blake the better," I growled, my eyes no doubt burning red. Shade backed up from me, a hand held in front of her, and fear in her eyes.

"Zelda, invenire Blake!" I snarled, swinging onto her back as she charged back into the cave. I could slowly feel Zelda's need to avenge her kit, fuel my anger, and all I wanted to do was kill Blake.

"Velocius Zelda!" I yelled, and the cheetah's angry growl filled the tunnels with its ferocity. Her strides became even quicker and we sped through the caves at nearly 100 mph. She barreled into a dark room, that lit up with the brightness of her fire-colored eyes.

Blake was growling at me, his body standing tall and proud. I snarled at him, and jumped off Zelda. I had him pinned to the wall with a growl. My claws dug into his neck, and Zelda stood beside me, fur on end. Blake was suspended a foot off the ground, with my hand wrapped around his throat.

He pointlessly struggled, and his eyes glowed an icy blue. Zelda hissed in his face, and I growled at him. I see Shade enter the room on Calypso from the corner of my eye.

"Raven I'm here. What are you doing to Blake?" I heard her ask. Then her eyes clouded like she was remembering something, and her claws came out, teeth turning to points.

Shade growled jumping off Calypso, and came to stand beside me. All I could think of was that I wanted Blake to die, slowly and painfully, just as Zelda's kit had.

"Let's finish this."
