Chapter 2

Suddenly, I was awoken from my first good nights rest in a while, by freezing cold water being tossed over my sleeping form.

C-c-o-o-l-l-d-d-d-d I thought and slowly stood up, water droplets rolling off of me, and onto the wooden floor.

“You little bitch! Why are you not making breakfast?” Alpha Jack yelled, slapping me with one hand. The other was holding the bucket, that had been filled with the ice cold water, before he had dumped it on me.

The force of the slap made me lose my footing, and I ended up falling to my knees. Reaching up, I tenderly cupped my aching cheek, while glaring up at the Alpha, through me lashes.

It’s okay Skylar. Don’t get angry I thought, knowing that when I got angry, I tended to let my tiger, Kira, take control.

“Get downstairs, you bitch,” he said kicking one last time me, then turned and started to walk away, like nothing happened.

“Yes Alpha,” I replied, before running down the stairs in cold, soaking wet clothes. I went to the kitchen, where Star already was.

“Bad morning, Star,” I said, forcing out a laugh.

She turned to me and gasped. “Oh My God! Sky you are going to get sick, if you stay in those clothes any longer. Wait here. I’ll go get you some clothes. You start making the breakfast.” She ordered me, before running back upstairs, to her room.

I nodded to no one and started making the bacon and toasting the bread. Some time later, Star came back with some leggings and really big sweater.

“Here you go and get changed outside behind a tree and I’ll finish this for you,” she continued to order me.

“Thanks,” I thanked, then ran out the back door. I got changed and was about to walk away, when I noticed a few stray wolves in our land. I have better senses than wolves, so I was able to smell them.

I ran back inside and up to Star, who was serving breakfast to the other members, “We’re under attack!” I shouted at them.

They jumped up and then looked suspiciously at me. “Are you sure bitch? I’m calling the Alpha.” one of the members questioned me.

He mind linked the Alpha and in a second, the Alpha was standing in the dining room.

“You better not be lying, okay?” He said to me and turned to everyone else. “Get the pack ready and everyone stand in lines of 10 outside.” He said and everyone listened , before going outside.

“The women and children in the safe room now,” he said and I followed the women outside through the back door.

The safe room was on the side of the packed house but the entrance was from the outside. While I was thinking, the women and children had already left and I was left behind.

Oh shit! I thought and walked faster. Just then the other pack came running towards me. Double shit! I thought and ran ahead. I was close to the safe house when I saw Henry crying on the side. I ran to him because he was alone and only 5.

“Henry what are you doing here, baby? Where’s your mom?” I asked him, picking him up.

“I don’t know,” he cried and held on to me tightly.

“It’s okay you can come with me,” I said and turned to run to the safe house but it had wolves fighting next to it.

Really? I thought and ran into the woods. I put Henry on a high branch.

“You stay there. Okay, Henry? Be a good boy. I’m just going to go, okay, you stay there and don’t come down.” I called up to him. He nodded. With that, I ran back towards the safe house hoping to see Scarlett inside.

The safe house was already locked when I reached it.

No no no! I thought and ran back to Henry. When I got into the forest and back to where I had put Henry, I saw a guy standing there in only shorts trying to get Henry down.

“Leave him alone!” I growled out to him.

He turned around and I could tell he was either a Beta or Third In Command from his aura.

“Get him down, we need you to line up,” the guy said.

I walked to Henry and looked up at him, “Henry, come on, jump. I’m here and I’ll catch you, I promise,” I told to him. He nodded and jumped, I quickly caught him. I turned around to the other guy and looked at him. He walked forward and I followed silently behind him.

“You’re not a wolf, are you?” He inquired.

I shook my head and glancing down at Henry, who was crying. “What happened Henry? Why are you crying? Did this guy hurt you?” I asked glaring at the guy, but he just rolled his eyes.

“I want my mommy,” he cried.

I shushed him and this guy, who I still don’t know the name of, we will just call him blondie, took us to the clearing where the fight had taken place. There were many members of our pack who died, causing the beautiful green grass, to be dyed a bloody red. The smell wasn’t much better, in fact, it was horrible.

“Stand in line next to women and children. Strongest to the front, weakest to the back,” Blondie commanded, before walking away to the rest of his pack.

I walked, still carrying Henry, to where all the women were. Putting him down on the ground, he immediately ran to his mom.

Thank god, we found her. I thought and looked for Scarlett

“Star,” I shouted and ran to her and gave her a hug.

“Oh My God! Where were you sky? I couldn’t find you anywhere, I thought you died,” she said, crying and whimpering into my shoulder.

“You can’t get rid of me that quickly,” I joked, laughing at her, before straightening out next to her at the back. It was only me and her. ‘The weakest’. Yeah right I thought.

“Quiet!” Blondie shouted over all the noise. “Right so you have a choice. Join our pack or become a Rogue. So whoever wants to join, stay where you are and the others just leave.” He said

Nobody moved so he continued talking. “Right, everyone, so we’re going to our land and then we will put you in your ideal place from strongest to weakest.” He said motioning to the vans behind him. “Get in everyone,” he said and everyone ran to it.

I and Scarlett were left with a few other girls so we sat in the only van left, which the beta was already in.

“Hey where is your Alpha? I’m sure the Alpha was supposed to be here and all. Given the fact that his pack had just destroyed/attacked another one.” I questioned Blondie.

Scarlett nudged me, telling me to be quiet, I just rolled my eyes at her and turned to Blondie. “The Alpha is at home, waiting for you guys,” he answered my questions.

“So, what pack is this?” I continued to question him, truly interested in which pack attacked us.

“The Blood Moon pack,” he said smirking.

The Blood moon pack. Alpha Damien. Oh shit! I thought and gulped.
