"She's fine," the royal physician confirms in a panic for the thousand times as Luscious hold's him high in the air by his flimsy little neck.

Luscious, Marcellus, Seneca, Cornelius, Rufus and I caught him walking out of his office just in time. We need answers and he is going to be the one that gives them to us or he shall die. It's that simple.

Nicklaus kicked all of us out of his private wing and blocked us from communicating with him hours ago.

He's shut us out, refusing to give us any updates concerning the wellbeing of our queen right before he went on a killing spree nearly draining the entire Palace.

It was a massacre. He drained over a thousand servants and slaves and if it wasn't for Xander reminding him of the fact that Claire would hate him forever if she ever found out I'm one hundred percent positive that he would have killed, thousand's on top of thousands of more.

I was stunned.

It's really quite interesting if you sit down to think about it. I mean just hearing Claire's name was all it took to calm him and his monster down. To be quite candid, leaving Nicklaus alone with Claire seems to be the only thing that has been keeping his monster at bay and that's the only reason why we all equally agreed to let them be.

At least for at that moment anyway.

Plus, we had to come up with a plan about the damn summons. Nicklaus told us to go ahead without him. Due to his title, he doesn't have to answer the got damn summons, but unfortunately for us, we don't have the luxury. The council will hunt us down to the end of time for ignoring their summons. So, it's hunting us down to the end of time that it shall be because it's no way on this drenched in blood earth that either one of us is leaving while Claire isn't in good health and that's final.

She is our Queen. Her wellbeing is our first priority.

That's exactly why, we decided to say fuck that got damn summons if the council wants us they are going to have to come and get us, including Claire and there is also no way in this drenched in blood earth that any one of them will get anywhere near her while I still have breath in my body and of course all of the other kings agree with me.

It's a big fuck them! It's been time for their ancient asses to turn to dust anyway if you ask me.

Plus, we're not playing fair. One fight, we all fight.

We're war-ready.

So, war it shall be and that's exactly what we have been doing for the last past couple of hours. We are preparing for war and also patiently waiting for answers about what's going on with our queen.

Time's up! We need to know what's going on with her right now.

"Elaborate on fine," Marcellus raises his voice slightly from beside me. He hasn't been his usual annoying self since Claire's misfortune. In fact, he has actually been the complete opposite of annoying.

He's been extremely mollifying, helpful even and most importantly he has been the only person that has been keeping us all calm. Well, as calm as vampire king can be expected under these sorts of circumstances.

For the first time in history, he is taking this matter very seriously. It's a miracle, fairly fascinating if you ask me and I believe that we all have Claire to thank for that. He really does care for her deeply when in reality that is ten time's bigger than fairly fascinating. It's actually pretty extraordinary watching our little brother putting on his big boy pants just for the sake of his little sister.

It's obvious he truly does care for her.

"You were right," the royal physician says to Marcellus. "The witch placed her into a sleeping spell. She should awaken shortly,"

"Her," snarls Cornelius. "She has a name," he takes a step closure towards the royal physician.

The scary-ass physicians gulp. "The witch placed the queen into a sleeping spell. The Queen should awaken shortly," he corrects himself quickly.

"How could a sleeping spell, have this sort of effect on her body?" I question him with a low snarl of my own.

"Aurora is the most powerful witch of all time," Marcellus is the one to answer. "There is no telling what she can do. She has the power to do unthinkable things, things that none of us could possibly grasp onto. Sleeping spells are known to be one of her most powerful gifts. It is said that she can spell even the oldest immortal to go night, night for century's with just a snap of her finger's,"

"That is why her people use to call her sleeping beauty," he informs us all.

"How do you know all of this?" I request to know. We all know that Aurora is powerful and that she has a bad habit of casting sleeping spells that are rumored to feel more like death but Marcellus seems to be more educated on the matter than anyone of us.

"I already told you. I'm smashing her daughter," he faces me and smirks. Oh, yeah! I forgot about that.

He has a death wish.

"Then it's safe to say that you will be spelled to sleep for the rest of eternity fairly soon," Cornelius pitches in with a smirk of his own.

"We are losing focus," Seneca says while leaving our side to go take a seat on the golden bench down the other end of the hallway. "Why would Aurora take the time out of her miserable existence just to sleep spell, Claire? It doesn't add up."

"No, it doesn't," agrees Luscious as he squeezes down onto the royal physician neck tighter. "Unless he's lying,"

"I'm not lying, my King, I'm not lying," the royal physician begins to plead. His beady brown eyes are now wide with fear. "I swear on my life that I'm a hundred percent positive that she is experiencing a sleeping spell, the queen shall live,"

"Just kill him," suggest Rufus. "He doesn't know shit, nor has he done anything to awaken her,"

"Yeah, I'm with Rufus," says Cornelius. "Just kill him,"

"But yet he is the one who has been able to keep her soft heartbeat beating," Seneca says from the other end of the hallway. He's now staring out the window with his hands behind his back, seeming to be lost in his own world.

"As long as Claire's heart remains beating the healer shall live," says Xander out of nowhere as he approaches us.

Now, where did he come from? He's been gone for hours. "Let him go," he commands Luscious. "He needs to get back to Claire right now. Her life depends on it, " He says while facing the physician.

"And his," I speak the truth. It truly does.

"I'll let him go," Luscious agrees before dropping him on the floor. "For now,"

"You are free to go but please do remember what I said healer," Seneca suggest. "Save her fast or you will die slowly,"

" Very, very, very slowly," I add in as I flash my fangs. The pathetic excuse of a vampire doctor scrambles to his feet in a hurry and then rushes toward's Nicklaus and Claire's private chamber without a word. He's a pussy.

Not even a second can pass before my sensitive ears pick up on a scream all the way from the South Wing of the place followed by the sound of gunshots. The other King's turn around to face the direction of the noise which confirms that they hear it as well.

What the fuck is going on? Without a second thought, we all rush in the direction of the south wing, and upon our arrival all hell breaks loose.

Cyrus POV.

"Who has she freed," Nicklaus question's one of the prison guards, by the name of Derek as Marcellus, Cornelius, and I follow closely behind the two of them throughout the dungeon.

We just got finish murdering over a hundred of escape prisoners making it official.

We have been breached.

After we reached the South Wing we were all surprised to find that Princess Daniella has freed all of the dangerous prisoners, killed some of our best men in the process, and is now on her way back here with an army, the council, and most importantly Nicklaus father.

To say that we were all pissed when we discovered this betrayal shall be an understatement . Every single one of our monsters was way past the point of furious.

Daniela has royally screwed us !

She's a traitorous bitch, a sneaky little daughter of a bitch. Claire should have allowed Nicklaus to end her when she disrespected her upon their arrival and yes I know about their hostile exchange of words. Marcellus filled me in. On another note, she's smart, sneaky little traitorous bitch.

She freed just about all of our high profile inmates.

Fucking, traitor which really should be expected when you consider the fact of who she is. I mean she's smashing one of her brothers, brother's behind their back for crying out loud.

Can you say incest?

Speaking of which, Seneca was the most livid of us all. For a brief second, his light golden turned into a pair of soulless red orb's, and the pain of the betrayal rushed like lava throughout his veins throughout our bond, much like Nicklaus's when Xander finally filled him in.

Seneca was so hurt by Princess Daniela's action to the point that he couldn't control his emotions and that means a lot coming from him. He is the king of remaining, calm cool, and collective. He has mastered the art of never allowing his emotions to control his actions. Seneca has always and forever will be the most level headed person that I know.

Although, that wasn't the case this go around. He flipped. His true emotions we're placed at the front and center. We all felt them and that doesn't exclude Nicklaus nor Xander.

Yup, the cat is out of the bag.

The violent but quick-witted king has fallen for the wicked backstabbing princess.

All of us were able to physically feel and physically see his pain all over his face.

Nicklaus snapped attacking Seneca head-on without asking any questions. Then, Rufus intercepted Nicklaus's attack protecting his precious baby cousin, and then Xander joined in defending his precious baby brother.

Meanwhile, Luscious, Marcellus, Cornelius, and I sat right there, watching the four of them beat the crap out of each other. It's was quite the show and I don't believe anyone of us planned to intervene until the war bell's winged for the first time putting an end to the brothers versus cousin battle overall.

At least it did for right now anyway. Now, we're all preparing to go war for one another.

Do you see how that works? Anyway, Rufus and Seneca are preparing our soldiers for battle while Luscious and a private team are currently setting up ground defenses, and scouting the Palace grounds for any signs of threats.

Xander is making last-minute preparations and Commander Vlad was honored with the task to stay behind and protect our queen.

She is still in a dreamlike state and Nicklaus refused to leave her unguarded.

"All of the captured Lycans, a dozen vampires who is against your rules, and one human boy," reports the guard.

Wait! Did he just say a human boy?

"Human boy," Nicklaus voices out my concern, stopping in his tracks. "Why the hell would my sister waist her time freeing a human?"

Yeah, like why would she? We all know that none of the Vlad's are too fond of human beings, especially Daniela. Actually, she hates them with a burning passion thanks to Nickalus' mother influence. Lady Akasha raised them all to never play with their food. It has always been a kill human order with that women. Although, her children didn't always share her point of view, especially Daniela.

Princess Bitch has not always been Princess bitch.

She actually uses to be quite a sweetheart that we all cherished and adored. However, the saying that says all good things come to an end was created because of situations like Daniela.

You see, Lady Akasha made it her business to suck every ounce of goodness out of her children and I've been told that snatching away Daniela innocence has always been a priority.

Now, I don't know all the gory details but I do know that she initially created monsters. From my understanding, she took away their innocence before their innocence could fully begin and their father didn't do anything about it. He just allowed the lioness to crush the cubs sanity. Fucking, prick!

Lady Akasha mentally abused all three of them for centuries and then blamed her bad othering skills on humans.

She made them feel as if the reason why she couldn't love them was that she was incapable of love due to the pain that she experienced during her human life.

From my understanding, Nicklaus nor Xander never really gave a fuck. To be honest, Lady Akasha favors Nicklaus out of all her children so he didn't receive too much of her back flask but Xander and Daniela are an entirely different story. They both ended up with the short end of the stick.

Xander learned to cope with it over time but Daniela began to take out her frustration on in and everybody else around her especially humans. She hunted them for fun long before the awakening, men, women, and children included. Her soul is truly tainted.

So, why the fuck would she free one of them?

To feast on, maybe?

"Why the hell would Daniela free a human?" Cornelius also voices my curiosity out loud. "What human?"

The soldier's eyes briefly flicker in my direction. "The human that was bought in from the King Cyrus Kingdom," he advises quickly.

What human? The only human that traveled with me is Jasmine, speaking of which I wonder if she’s dead yet. I hope so. I'm ready to rid myself of that bitch.

"Claire's human friend," Marcellus questions bring me back to reality. Wait, what?

Claire human friend? The slave boy that Nicklaus been should have been killed I think to myself while I mentally connect with my new lieutenant in the process of Nicklaus turning around to face me.

"I'm already on it," I say to him while making my way towards the dungeon's exit.

What the fuck would she want with a human in my kingdom?

He must be a spy. That's the only logical explanation. See what I mean, Nicklaus should have drained him of life when he had the chance.

"Yes, Sire," Adex, answers my call. He is my new lieutenant who also happens to be one of Gutter's close friends. The promotion was meant for Gutter who so graciously declined my offer just so he can remain Embry's personal guard, which has officially earned him all of my respect.

Most vampires would pick the easy job over the deadly one because only the Blood God knows have painfully that guard shall die if anything happens to my beloved on their watch

Gutter is no different which makes him a very honorable man in my book very stupid, but extremely honorable.

So I guess Gutter is right, Embry truly is his death trap.

Either way, Adex is still one of my best soldiers. He's loyal and deadly just like how I like them.

"I need you to contact Speck and tell her to send over intel about one of my former slaves by the name of Alec,"

"Of course, Sire," he answers before I cut off my line of communication while making my way towards the slave quarters. I need answers and fast. I know for a fact one of these useless human beings knows all there is to know about that slave. Humans just love to gossip.

The Palace is in a state of complete chaos, especially the slave quarter. Humans are pushing and running around everywhere fearing for their lives. They are so scared that they aren't even paying attention to their surroundings. No one has seemed to notice that one of the biggest threats inside this Palace is standing right in front of them, watching everybody.

My eyes lock onto a very familiar face. Jadis, I believe. Cornelius's chosen or more like beloved.

He tries to keep it a secret but I'm no fool. I've been aware that he is madly in love with her.

Why else would he kill his own men just because they killed her mother and almost killed her? Then, travel all the way to the Nicklaus Kingdom alone with her which happens to be far, far, far away from Cornelius's Kingdom but most importantly far, far, far away from his family.

All to turn around and beg Nicklaus to keep her safe. On top of that, Cornelius made it his business to randomly pop up in Nicklaus's Kingdom whenever he had the chance, claiming that he was bored. Vampire's don't do shit like that for humans, especially Cornelius which could only mean that he cares for her deeply.

So trust me when I say that she is his beloved for that I'm sure. I watch her from the shadows as she runs down the hallway in panic. She nearly trips over her rich silk maroon court train taffeta gown three times. Xander's fiery redhead chosen is not too far from behind her.

Their heartbeats are pounding so loud it makes my sensitive ear's ring. Jadis absentmindedly run straight into me which causes her to officially lose her balance. I catch her just in time right before she hits the floor.

"Ouch! I'm such a clumsy little clutch," she says as Xander chosen rushes to her aid. "Thank you, Victoria. I can't believe I almost fell again," she huffs.

Whelp! That make's one of us because this human is what she says she is. A clumsy little clutch.

The very moment that, who I now know to be Victoria helps her stand to her feet Jadis brilliant brownish bronze eyes widen as soon as they come in contact with me. Typical human.

In my presence, it's the same story. I’m the big bad wolf, they are the babbling little sheep, meaning it’s in their nature to be scared shitless and run away from me.

Although, it's not fear I sense from her, no not at all. It's more like shock, surprisingly.

"Oh, my! There is a God," she squeals. "Where is Claire?" she demand's to know. "Where is my best friend?"

I raise a single eyebrow and I must admit that I wasn't expecting for her to say that. Actually, I wasn't expecting her to do anything other than scream and run away from me.

"Earth to King Cyrus, Earth to King Cyrus," she waves her hand in front of my face. Now, it's time for my golden eyes to widen in shock. What the hell is wrong with this human? She's so weird.

"Jadis," warns her friend Victoria from behind her while looking as if she's about to piss herself.

"Not right now, Victoria," the weird human Jadis says to her. "I'm trying to find Claire, so where is?" she asks me once again as if she's my equal.

Who the fuck does this human think she is? I think to myself as I release a small growl, taking a step forward.

"Jadis," screams Victoria while taking a step back, obviously scared out of her mind. Good girl. She knows what good for her health. "I think we should go right now," she suggests.

"Yeah, Jadis," my monster agrees as Jadis takes a single step back making me take another step forward. "Aid your friend warning and make yourself scarce,"

"I'm not scared of you," she lies. Her drastic heartbeat says differently. It's beating volumes.

"Yeah, we're not scared of you," Victoria has her back. Hmmmm. Interesting. I take that back it appears that Victoria doesn't know what good for her health after all.

"Is that so," I step closure on purpose as the screaming humans continue to run all around us.

Meanwhile, Jadis and Victoria are still walking backward. This continues until they finally have nowhere else to go, both of their backs are against the wall and they are shaking boots.

For just a second, the three of us stay like this. They are frozen in place as they try their hardest not to stare into my monster eyes. Ha! Ha!Ha! Not scared my ass. Right now, the both of them look like two timid kittens, scared of their own shadows. They are so overwhelmed with fear that they simply freeze, too terrified to run. It's quite entertaining, ruffling up their feathers.

In more pacifically, Jadis. Corneilius is going to be so pissed when he finds out and it serves him right too. This is exactly, what he get's for cracking all those dog jokes about my Embry.

Pay back is a bitch! Even though, I can't get him back to the full extent at this time. I'm fully aware that now is not the time.Plus, Claire would kill me if either one of her friends died from being scared to death by me, but before I let them go I just can't help myself.

"Boo," I spook them out just for the fun of it and it works. The two of them scream so loud that I imagine each and every window inside of this Palace bursting from the impact of their screams.

Fuck, that stings. My eardrums are ringing so got damn loud if I wasn't immortal I'm certain that they would have literally poped.

"Okay! Okay! That's enough," I say to them as I place my hands overtop of Jadis mouth. Victoria cowers like a coward behind her. Now, would you look at that, all talk no action. "I'm not going to hurt you. I just have one question," I confess as Jadis continues to scream into my hand for about three mintues after my confession.

It takes her that long to get it. Her brain is slow with making the connection, but eventually her screams quiet down slowly converting to shallow breathing as her heart rate begins to beat at a normal pace. On the other hand, her friend is now sitting on her knees with her two hands pressed together against her chest.

Is she praying?

"You're not going to hurt me?" reassures Jadis. I shake my head in a no motion giving her confirmation. "You just have a question?" She ask's and I shake my head in a yes motion once again giving her confirmation. "So why didn't you just say that," she says to me. "See Victoria, I told you that prayer work's. I told you, I told you, I told you."

What?

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. You were right again but there is no point in bragging about it," Victoria responds as she make's her way back to her feet. What the hell? You know what it doesn't even matter at this moment. I now understand why these girls and Claire get along so well. They are all weird.

A sudden round of crackling sound can be heard followed by the war bell ringing louder outside of the Palace Gates which only could mean one thing. They are here. The council is here. Fuck, I'm out of time.

"Nothermind, now is not the time. We need to go now," I tell Jadis before snatching her tiny frame up by her arm and then I begin to pull her throughout the slave quarters. I need to get her to safety. Claire and Corneilius would have a fit if she died on my watch. There is no point in grabbing onto Victoria.

She’s none of my concern and yet she chases right behind us anyway.

"Get off of me!! Get off of me!!" She pointlessly tries to break free from me. "I'm not going anywhere to I find Claire. Victoria save me," I briefly flicker my eyes in Victoria direction before releasing a small growl making my intention clear. She better simply follow quietly me behind like a good little slave or else.

Victoria pauses for just a second while holding up her hands in place. Yup, she get's the picture.

I turn around to continue on my current task at hand which consists of quickly getting them to Nicklaus and Claire private chamber. It's the safest place for the two of them at the moment.

The hallways are in a even more chaotic state than the slave quarters. The servants and slaves are running around everywhere, pursuing refuge. The guards and soldiers are running to their appointed positions, getting ready.

We are almost at the grand staircase when I hear Victoria yell from behind me. "Hi yah," and the next thing I know is a narrow pointed knee being rammed into my ball sack from behind.

Ouch that hurt's I think to myself before falling to my knees. I must be in shock because I’m still attempting to registering how she got me.

During this process, Jadis breaks free and scramble's to her feet. "Come on, Jadis," Victoria rushes her. "We need to go now,"

"Nice save," I hear Jadis say before the two girls rush away. Meanwhile, I'm still here laying on the ground with my knees ball up to my chest like a little bitch.

Yup, it's official! Those two girls belong in Claire clique They too are little devils, sneaky but little devils nonetheless. They are war ready.

I watch them disappear down the hallway from the ground but not before my sensitive ears pick up on Jadis squeaky voice saying, "Cornelius," she sounds panicked. "Cornelius," she says again.

Thank the blood God! Now, he can deal with his weird ass beloved and her nuisance of a friend.

Once, I regain my composure and strength I get up and head in the direction of the Palace Gate's.

The time has offically come. I’m war ready or not if you take into account what just happened to me.

I still can’t believe she got me!
