I stood in my living room, watching the window. The streets still empty and barren only the hoses stood.

I wonder if Blaine is okay, I wonder if I should message him maybe hearing from him will make me feel less like the world had ended while I was in the museum.

I pulled out my phone to check the time before opening my message with Blaine.

β€œHow is shopping with Elizia?” I typed. I stared at it blankly as if expecting him to get back to me right away, I watched the five turn into a six on my phone, nervousness washing over me as I tapped my finger on the back of my phone case.

Just relax, it’s probably nothing it might just be a coincidence next time you look at the window you’ll see people walking around and the streets looking less deserted. I said to myself as I stepped away from the window and collapsed on the couch.

I stared blankly at my TV remote, contemplating whether or not to turn the TV on. After a move moment of silence, I sighed grabbing the TV remote and turning the TV on flipping until I found something that could distract me.

I numbly watched the screen whatever was playing still on when my phone vibrated just as an ad ran across the screen.

β€œIt’s going, we’ve been at the same store for almost 2 hours I am bored.” Blaine texted with the board emoji.

I stared at the text with excitement, feeling thrilled that he was not dead or gone for no apparent reason.

β€œSounds horrible, I just got back from the museum I talked to a couple of people and I learned quite a bit about the necklace and the strange language engraved on it.” I texted as I grabbed the TV remote and flipped the channel to something a bit more fun.

β€œAwesome, I look forward to talking to you about it when I get free from Elizia also, I may have found a couple of things that you’ve been looking for,” Blaine replied back.

β€œWrite down the name of the store you went to and how much it cost if I get some extra money, I can go out there and pick it up.” I texted almost eager to know what he found.

I looked at Cyber stream to see if any new shows when my eyes landed on haunted Village.

Oh yeah, I was watching that I still wonder if they were going to save that one girl or leave her to the wolves.

I turned on haunted Village and got up, I glanced at the window just as a car drove by the sound of its engine roaring outside my house as it sped past.

….. How is this possible? I swear there were no cars before and now there are cars and people… What’s going on? I’ve got to be losing my mind or something.

I tried to shake the weird things that were happening out of my mind, I made my way to the kitchen grabbing snacks out of the cupboard, I glanced outside the window again a woman jogging past.

I looked confused for a moment then shook my head as I made my way to the fridge grabbing a soda and looking for snacking the cupboard I wonder if Blaine would, believe me, I told him that weird things were happening. I wonder if he would think I was crazy.

And what about my dreams? What about Evelyn and Raylan? How could I be having such strange dreams with them and it? And… Him the Blaine look-alike is he real or is he just a figment of my imagination? He always seems to be everywhere but disappears like a ghost as if he was never there.

He knows nothing of the real Blaine and attends a school completely different from the one that Blaine attends and studies strange subjects like demon lore and magic who even studies magic there is no magic unless you’re Henry Patters.

The headache began to form as I plopped down on the couch and played the episode trying to distract myself from the one answerable questions that plagued my mind.

β€œHey! Anyone home?”

I pause my episode as Blaine entered the house the sound of his footsteps as he reared his head around the corner. He held two bags in his hands and he looked worn out like he had ran a marathon.

β€œNo, the house is currently emptied and no one lives here anymore.” I teased as I rose to my feet letting the blanket that I had put on myself earlier fall.

β€œOh, okay then I’ll just return these bags that I happened to get I am very sorry for intruding,” Blaine said as he pretended to leave the house.

β€œWhat’s in the bags?” I asked as I closed the front door and watched him make his way to the chair collapsing in exhaustion.

I made my way back to the couch sitting down as I observed the bags that nuzzled against the chair. Blaine said nothing for a moment as he just leaned back and stared at the ceiling as his stomach rose in up-and-down.

β€œAs I said, I found some really cute soft that you were looking for and I picked them up while I was out.” He said as he sat up and pushed the bags towards me.

I looked at him shocked as the bags fell over knocking each over onto the ground, a small black velvet cloth slipping out of one of the bags. I leaned down and picked up the bag the material falling back into the bag as I grabbed it.

β€œBlaine! You shouldn’t have! Where did you find this?” He said as I glanced at the T-shirt, the red bloody heart in the middle with an arrow through it.

I rummaged through the rest of the bags, black leggings to go with the T-shirt with the heart on the bottom of the ankle and a bag that I have been dying to get since I saw it two years ago.

I didn’t wait very long after trying on the shirt over the one I had the soft velvet feeling nice on my skin as the shirt drooped down.

β€œOoo, extra-large you know how much I love oversized shirts,” I said ecstatically as I spun around before hugging Blaine excitedly.

β€œYes, I know how much you love your oversized shirts which is why got it for you a looked more like a comfy shirt you would wear throughout the house or even as pajamas in winter,” Blaine said as I pulled away from him taking the shirt off carefully to not cause my shirt underneath to rise.

β€œThank you so much, Blaine, I’m going to switch bags later on tonight and use that one for school,” I said as I stuck everything back into their bags and push the bags to the side of the couch.

β€œSo, what did you figure out about the symbols and the necklace?” Blaine asked as he reached over and grabbed some of the chips that were in a bowl.

I glanced at my necklace taking it off as I observed the symbols trying to remember what Mr. Welsh said.

Well, he said the symbols are not ancient Greeks or Nordic runes but he said that it can be very convincing if you were to tell somebody it was a mix between the two.” I said feeling the sense of confusion again as I tried to process what language it could be.

β€œSo, it’s not either-or did he say which language it could be or whether or not it’s even earthly?” Blaine asked.

β€œNo, it’s not anything that’s on earth, Mr. Welsh himself told me he even showed me all the languages that are written on record on earth and this is not it.

He said that the language looked very similar to the two ancient Greeks symbols are not wavy enough and the Nordic runes don’t have… Dammit, I can’t remember what he said about them but they’re not that either.”

Blaine looked thoughtful as he studied the necklace a bit more his eyebrows scrunching as he tried to think of something. It’s

β€œWhat did he say about the metal? Did he say whether or not it was silver or gold or maybe it’s something else entirely?”

β€œHe said that it’s similar to a metal called…hmm tungsten… Yeah that’s it tungsten he said that was the closest material that we have that would best explain the similarities but it is also not of any metal we have.” I said feeling proud of myself that I remembered the name of the material.

Blaine looked confused as he tried to understand. β€œSo, they said that this material is neither silver nor gold but looks similar to tungsten?” Blaine asked as if to confirm what I said as he pulled out his phone.

β€œYeah, I’m not exactly sure what type of material it is either but whatever it is it’s not from this planet.”

It doesn’t matter how many times I say it sounds so surreal like why would Mom have been alien-like a piece of jewelry? I mean really start to exist if they did we would have seen them right.

Blaine put the necklace down as he looked at me. β€œWhat are we going to do now? I mean clearly, it’s not anything on this planet and we can’t talk to any of your family members unless sure grandfather has any answers.”

I shuddered at the thought of calling grandfather and being mixed up in a phone call with Lexi and her horrible rants about my existence then calling me a nut job because I would believe the hocus-pocus crap of aliens.

β€œI don’t think grandfather would have the answers I’m looking for, all we can do is just live with it and cherish my mom’s necklace maybe if she was alive she could answer the question but since she’s not we could at least… Pretend it’s a regular piece of jewelry. I said mom wearing a similar one on her neck with her name on it.

Blaine nodded as he reached for the TV remote and checked cyber streams for something else.

β€œIf that’s what you want, I mean if your mom didn’t want you to know about it maybe it’s for the better, it could be dangerous if you try to delve further into it,” Blaine said.

β€œHey, do you remember mom ever wore a necklace around her neck one that looks exactly like this but with her name on it?” I asked curiously.

Blaine looked at me perplexed before glancing back at the TV flipping through the options.

β€œNot that I’m unaware of, though she did have a similar ring on her hand, but I never thought to ask her about it I just thought it was a family heirloom… Oh, wait the ring what if… Now hear me out what if the ring I am wearing is a family heirloom, she just put your name on it because you were her firstborn.” Blaine suggested excitedly as if he had discovered something.

I glanced at the ring curiously the dark stone shining off the light as it reflected my name on it.

He might not be wrong; it would be understandable that mom would do something like that… I guess but what about lines? What are they supposed to signify?

β€œSo how did things go with you and Elizia? Did you help her out with what she needed?” I asked.

β€œIf you could say that,” Blaine said as he landed on something to watch. β€œShe pretty much just found a couple dresses she could wear in the fall with a few hairstyle trends she could use.” He said shuddering at the memory of sitting and waiting for her to find clothes.

I wonder if it’s going to work, I wonder if Blaine is going to see her differently if she wears it. I know I’m going to look forward to seeing what she’s bought.

I silently watched the screen as Blaine got up moving towards the front door and leaning against the wall.

β€œAre you staying for the night?”

β€œYeah, walk home that’s three blocks to far, I’ll send a message to my mom and a little bit to let her know so that she doesn’t call you again,” Blaine said as his shoes fell to the floor collapsed on the couch beside me.
